Although we were there for just one night, we found it very charming. Beautiful vintage hotel with a lovely view and location, a good breakfast, nice pool and very helpfull friendly people. One small remark is that the bed was really hard. Since this was only for one night, it was no problem, but I don’t think I would enjoy it for a longer stay.
We stayed here for two nights. Ca 10 mins walk to busstation and 15 mins to the old Town. Really quiet neighborhood with a nice view. Pool was nice, and the terrace was lovely to sit in the evenings. Amazing breakfast! The staff was great and helpful
We spent 5 days at Acucena and would highly recommend. Firstly, due to issues with our hire car we were very late arriving from the airport. Despite the time we were warmly welcomed and shown around. The house is very traditional and our room was comfortable with a beautiful view. We were easily able to walk into Sintra and there are lots of restaurants near by. The staff were so helpful with recommendations and helping us make the best of our stay. Would love to return in the future.
We spent four days at the Casa Açucena Vintage B&B and could not be more pleased! Our room was spacious and beautiful, all areas stylishly furnished and Portugese style breakfast generous and tasty. Staff was friendly and accommodating. B&B is located a 10-minute-walk from the center and provided us a perfect base to explore Sintra and the surrounding areas.
This place should occupy a higher position in the ranking, as it is the perfect place to stay in Sintra. We enjoyed a lot the stylish rooms, the breakfast, the swimming pool, the beautiful trees and the nice service. It seems to attract people that like to complain, but we had no complaints at all, on the contrary. It´s on a dead end street, a bit of noise on the front side perhaps but not too much. This is what I imagined Sintra to be (I knew it from Eca de Queiroz his novels), this house is built in 1927 but you still feel the 19th century inside. Recommended.
"Ask for the room from which you walk just right into the swimming pool. Or a room on the upper floor with terrace and nice views."Read full review
