This was the place for a week of silence, solitude and swimming. I stayed in the casinha, a small wooden hut which was like a Med version of Heidi’s house. A little balcony on stilts, a perfect country kitchen and a huge, endlessly cosy bed and shutters that banished the bright Portuguese sunlight. The kitchen is well kitted out with...

We stayed in 'the windmill' in May - and it was windy! A beautiful, quiet place to stay, with a great view, and very helpful landlady. Ignore 'breakfast provided' unless you're happy with bread and jam - you're self-catering anyway, so why not treat yourself to delicious fresh produce from the market in Setubal, at the bottom of the hill...

This property is set on a hill, where it includes an old converted windmill - in which we stayed. The result is, it's windy ! There is a semi-sheltered pool, but no other communal area. The mill was VERY original - tastefully decorated with knick-knacks, well equipped for self-catering if needed, and a romantic upper floor for the bedroom, with...

This place is simply magical. From the individually styled semi-bungalows with spectacular view and enchanted garden to the bread at the doorstep morning service, finally to the cool poolside, this place has it all. It is an absolutely recommended location for a short and long stay. Each room has a unique style to it and each feels like a summer...

Great stay, 3 min drive down to the town - brilliant restaurants, the ones facing the port are the best, much cheaper than in town the highly recommended by guides books near the ferry (good but much more expensive). Amazing coastal road drive to nearby Sessimbra is well worth while as is a trip to the peninsula - but don't...

We stayed in the windmill for a few nights in June and we were very happy with what we found. A brilliant place to relax and really get away from the hustle and bustle. The windmill itself is beautifully furnished while still feeling rustic. The service for breakfast is satisfactory and the installation of a phone line direct to the...

So we arrived at the resort based on several good reviews and the fact the hotel is on i-escape. What was good - Secluded - The blue room apartment was spacious and clean but basic. It would be hard to self cater using the kitchenette but it was sufficient for breakfast (tea, toast etc) and a sandwich or salad lunch...

We stayed in the windmill for 5 nights. The view is amazing and the mill could come straight out of a decoration magazine. Such a romantic place, clean, friendly staff and owner, good service. Breakfast at the door every morning. Nothing to complain about at all. We had no car and drove most of the days to Setubal by cab...

If you enjoy cozy places to stay with an amazing view, you will loved it! And the view is breathtaking! There are very few houses, so expect a service of a small business, personal and effective. Unless you really like walking like some reviews described, you should have a car, because you are staying in the top of an hill (If...

“Must stay in the windmill as it was super romantic, cosy with great views. Breakfast with fresh bread delivered every morning was amazing sitting out in the sun with private views. They even supply a BBQ if you fancy a night off from the great restaurants. The Pool, (a short 1 minute stroll past lemon trees ) from the windmill is also a delight as it's almost your own, very peaceful with also amazing views.”
