The Pousada sits on top of an imposing hill with an impressive panoramic view of the area. The cloister is very impressive as are the lovely rooms. There is free parking at the front of the building and its worth taking a walk down into the local town of Palmela. There is a very good place to have some wine... More

We stayed on our last night in Portugal. This Pousada was convenient to Lisbon airport. Room was spacious and clean. Reception and othe staff were very nice and helpful. Restaurant is just okay - a little stuffy and food is unremarkable.

This Pousada is high in the hills on the other side of the Vasco da Gama bridge from Lisbon. The rooms are old-fashioned with solid old wood furniture. The rooms are comfortable. The food is buffet style with 3 choices being fish, meat, veggie and there is plenty of vegetables and salad. Wine is reasonably priced. The staff are very... More

Good hotel with great rooms and good accommodations, mainly when you remember you're sleeping in a old convent. My only recommendation is that to be part of "The Pestana hotels network", it needs to improve the details, like services, timing and cleaning of the common areas. I do not plan to return.

we attended a family wedding here in July. It was a most beautiful venue. The staff were charming, helpful and efficient. The rooms were spacious, clean and all had great views over the surrounding countryside. We were also very well looked after by the husband and wife team who run the little restaurant across from the hotel. All in all,... More

Where to start with this incredible place... What a view!! My husband and I chose this magical venue to host our abroad wedding with family and friends traveling from Australia, Ireland, Scotland and USA- it didn't disappoint! A castle of reconquest to the Arab, in the middle ages, with a very friendly hotel and restaurant has good food and very attentive staff. Very good for lunch with children. A lesson of history for young people.

This hotel is within the walls of the castle. It is very clean and excellent service. The rooms are large and quite. The bathroom could use some updating. I would give it a higher rating if the food was better for breakfast and dinner. I do not recommend the restaurant, expensive and mediocre food.

Beautiful posada on a hilltop a few miles out of Lisbon with great views. Was once a monastery and has a lovely central courtyard with rooms on all four sides. We were in a group and had to have the buffet dinners which really could have been more interesting. It seemed very similar on all three nights we stayed.
