Location: excellent. Outside the city walls but only a 5 minute walk to a few restaurants (we really liked Vila Infante but did not like Cafe Snack Bar) and a 15 minute walk to the center (Capinha bakery was very good). We had a car rental to explore the surrounding areas so the location served as a good base. The setting itself is beautiful and peaceful. Comfort: we stayed in the Vinho do Porto room. The bed was comfortable, there was lots of storage and it was spacious, the A/C worked really well for both heating and cooling, there was good water pressure in the large shower, and there was lots of hot water. Wifi/internet was fast. It was very clean. Breakfast: served in the main house. Simple but tasty selection of breads, cold-cuts, cheeses, home-made jams, and fruits. Hosts: kind, helpful, and responsive. You can tell they care about running a good business. Overall: We have stayed in over 100 accommodations and this was one of my favorites. Usually there is something missing or not working but not during our stay. No complaints, everything was perfect. Highly recommend. Other: Batalha is worth the day trip to visit the monastery (and the extra fee to see the additional rooms is also worthwhile). Nearby Santarem has an annual agricultural fair in June that is also worth going to.

We stayed at Quinta de Olivia for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oskar and Irma were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcomed. It was in a great location and we walked into the walled city of Óbidos frequently. There are a lot of good restaurants close by and we took day trips to other cities around that area. I highly recommend this B&B. It was one of our favorites. Thank you Oskar and Irma for your warm smiles and wonderful hospitality.

We had two nights at this lovely place just outside Obidos and it was restful and very well located. The property is an interesting mix of old rural with a tasteful upgrade in the living quarters. Our hosts were extremely helpful and full of tips on great places to visit whether inland or on the coast or in Obidos itself. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I am giving this 5 "stars" for being really good at what it is; not for being Ritz or Four Seasons luxury. We were happy to be outside of any kind of city and appreciated the free parking. The location makes a good base for exploring this area north of Lisbon. From here we visited Obidos (underwhelming) Alcobaca (very impressive) Batalha (also very impressive) and Tomar (amazing!!). It would also be easy to visit Nazare or Fatima from here but for various reasons we chose not to. It would also be a nice place to just hang out and chill for a few days. The gardens are lovely and there is a pool altho the weather was not conducive to our using it. We enjoyed this peaceful haven in the countryside. Irma and Oskar are helpful and friendly but not overbearing or intrusive. Our room was spacious and clean. We were very comfortable there.

We had an amazing stay at Quinta da Olivia! It was peaceful, clean, great breakfast (yummy cheeses, meats, bread, yogurt, granola & fruit...oh and fresh squeezed juice!) We slept very well - so quiet and beds very comfortable! It was a nice 15 minute walk into the village but far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the town. The owners were really lovely and made us feel very comfortable during our stay with the use of the common rooms, pool area, honesty bar, little outdoor patio that was outside of our room and lots of useful info on restaurants and things to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

This place is so romantic and I can just imagine being a kid and staying here and seeing the castle glowing on the hill above while playing in the gorgeous swimming pool... The apartments are adorable and so are the Dutch hosts. Irma and Oskar left international careers in science to open a B&B in Portugal. Good thing they speak so many languages! The comfy bus takes 50 minutes to Lisbon, then it's back to the quinta for beaches or the pool! This place is magical.

We had a very spacious two room suite; good sized bathroom with shower, living area with couch and table, dining area with table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you could ever want. The kitchen is set up for those who want to cook their own meals. The grounds are exquisite. Several acres with a citrus and apple orchard, large barn, swimming pool and a well tended herb and vegetable garden. The on site parking is quite roomy. Quinta da Olivia is outside the walls and easy to find. It is only a 10 minute safe walk into the walled city. Irma and Oskar provide information on day trips and insider tips on when to use or not to use the freeways. The breakfast was always more than we could eat, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, home made jams, bread and croissants, yogurt, cereal and fresh squeezed juice and coffee. Very spacious quiet room in a lovely setting

Lovingly restored Quinta in well-kept grounds. Excellent breakfast with delicious home-made jams with interesting taste-experiences i.e. blackberry and thyme! Great base for exploring the Laguna of Obidos. Thank you, Oskar and Irma!

Everything about Quinta da Olivia is great. Firstly the hosts Oskar and Irma are delightful, they are great hosts and lovely people. Nothing is two much trouble for them, they are helpful and knowledgeable . The Quinta is on the edge of town and set in huge beautifully kept grounds, there is plenty of free parking on site inside the gates. The swimming pool and sun loungers are a bonus on a hot day. The rooms are perfect and everything has been thought of, bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. Breakfast was in the main house and was served at a communal table. I usually prefer a separate table but all the other guests were so nice and interesting it was nice to all sit together and chat. Breakfast is served over a two hour period so not all guests were there at the same time. Lovely fresh food, bread , fruit cheeses and freshly boiled eggs as each guest arrived. There are bottles of local wine available to buy from the honesty bar and drink on the terrace outside our room or sitting by the pool. A lovely view of the sun setting over the medieval castle can be enjoyed in the evening. Some great restaurants in the town which is just a short walk away and Oskar provides torches for the walk home. A really lovely stay in a beautiful town.

Perfect home base for several days or more to explore the area if you have a car. Oskar and Irma speak English, Dutch, German (of course Portuguese and probably Spanish and French???) and are really nice, friendly people. The small gardens and pool area are pretty and peaceful. The location is very quiet while still being convenient to Obidos and 2 major highways. The recently updated rooms are very comfortable and clean. You don’t even miss having a TV because you’re either eating their fantastic breakfast or relaxing outside. With a little driving, you can get to Alcoboca, Batalha, Tomar, Fatima, Peniche and other little towns, beaches, cliffs, or castles.
