Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

The hotel itself is very stylish and modern, and the rooms are deceptively spacious. The staff went above and beyond for us, they even left a note and gift for my partner’s birthday. The air-con is a little bit weak, but it was fine with the windows open.

We stayed for four nights for my birthday. The Location was great close to most areas. The hotel was clean in all areas. The rooms are minimalist in style but had everything you would need.Although there is a kettle you need tea coffee etc as this is not provided in the room. We asked for some milk and it was no problem. The staff gave us some water and two Da Nata tarts for my birthday. Breakfast was good and was continental plus scrambled eggs small sausage/ bacon mushrooms baked beans etc good breakfast selection. The staff could not have been more helpful offering travel advice and printing off our boarding passes. We had an issue with our bathroom which was rectified whilst we went to breakfast. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay again if we were in the area.

So I had booked a room at this hotel via Booking.com as I have visited Lisbon a few times and it looks lovely. I wanted to book somewhere special as I am getting married in Portugal. I booked the room for my mother, and used my CC on booking.com (as the website asks if the booking is for me or someone else). Over the past 24 hours I have received two requests from booking.com to update my credit card. My card does not expire for another two years but I obliged. I then receive that the hotel has canceled your booking. I call the hotel to see why this has happen? They refused to tell me over the phone but instead said they will email me. I received the email and it is because the name on the card does not match the room reservation name even though on booking.com it is clear that I was not the guest. After speaking to the hotel, and explaining, they said this is their policy, but I can pay by bank transfer (ummm hello it is 2020). I said I am happy to pay the full amount for my mother but can I have the original rate, and I was told NO, they won't change the rate. Well I have lost my original rate and the new rate is €30 more expensive. I explained that this was unacceptable and what can they do. I was told nothing and that this was their policy. Don't waste your time here as they do not put customers first. Me and my partner are booked here for 1 week, and we have 10 other family and friends booked here, we will now move our booking to somewhere else.

We booked this hotel for four nights for my birthday. Warm welcome - early check-in was possible -, great service at reception. Room is perfect for couple of days stay. Very central, close to everything. Coffee pods not included in a normal room service (we managed to get some, but they provided only decaf) and we had an issue with our air-conditioning. This issue was not resolved, but world travellers just stick to plan B and open the windows. Birthday card from the hotel was a nice touch!

We went for a short city break. The location of the hotel is excellent, a 5 minute walk from the main square and 10 minutes from the metro station. Hotel was very clean, modern and the staff were very polite and attentive. Only cons were the hallways are a bit dark and you only get about 4/5 hangers on a clothes rail. Apart from that the rooms were great and we really enjoyed our stay

How much is the parking nearby?
It will be difficult to park in the vicinity of this hotel...if you have not yet booked, better to stay a little way out of the very centre. Taxis are very cheap and actually, this is not the best hotel for value and money.....
