We had an amazing trip to Lisbon, help by the very friendly staff especially Anna. She was very knowledgeable and helped us find places to go things to see. Hotel was lovely and clean, breakfast was a wide variety. Rooms were on the small side but you only sleep in it so didn't bother us.

The owner’s wife has zero understanding in hospitality. Her receptionist took our credit card for security and let us in. After being already in the room, we noticed a very bad smell. We had to change rooms. Then she came and didn’t stop talking (while all we wanted was to quickly be moved to the new room), and in addition, told us we can’t enter the new room before we actually pay for the room, as if the security credit card authorisation wasn’t enough. We ended up sitting in the hallway with our stuff until payment was made. That was an frustrating experience and bad practice . Even if the receptionist made a mistake, the owner should back up that mistake and not take the keys that were already given to us. The hotel is in a very bad shape. Rooms are too small. They charge for water (which should always be complementary). Breakfast lacks healthy options such as a granola bowl with fresh fruits and yogurt. No fresh fruit juice and bad coffee. Before leaving the cleaning lady just barged in the room without even knocking. The hotel is ran by a couple and they have A LOT to learn about hospitality.

Room Tip: Rooms are extremely small. Check in is extremely long and “bureaucratic”.

We stayed here with our dogs and we found the staffs extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nicely decorated, clean and had a good size. They even prepared 2 bowls and a blanket for our dogs. It was a nice touch. There are some nice restaurants and great cafes close by.

Dear PetersT6720XC, It was an absolute pleasure to have had you and your dogs with us. We are great dog lovers in our family so we recently decided to start this experiment of becoming Pet Friendly and you have been our very first guest bringing dogs :-D Since then we had already great success with this and hope that we will be able to welcome you and the dogs again some day in the future. With best regards, Bernhard Huber Hotel Luena Team

Great room and ideal for a short stay if you're looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep whilst making the most of exploring Lisbon. I traveled with one other person and we stayed in a twin room. Small but ideal for our needs. They provided a good breakfast although could improve by adding baked beans alongside the eggs and sausages. Boiling water should also be ready for the tea and not just coffee. Location wise it is 30 mins walk away from the main city centre and Alfama, so is away from the hustle and bustle.

Short ten minute ride to the hotel from the airport. Your cost should be between 7 and 10 Euros. No cars were available on Uber. Friendly staff. Small elevator. Nice breakfast. Clean room and bathroom. Not much of a view from the window while staying on the sixth floor.

school trip: as far as the school trip is concerned, neither the pupils nor the teachers found themselves well .... the rooms are beautiful and lulite but the staff is unruly on the fact that the students cannot move or open the door even to come from their respective professors (ex: the recepsion has recalled so many times because the pupils put nose out of doors and that's how it is) my advice is to avoid this hotel for a school trip

Stayed two nights at this hotel. Room was very clean and modern. Hotel provided Fresh towels and cleaned while we were out. No faults about the room. Breakfast is ok small room but you choose what you want. Staff very friendly but one night time staff. He was rude about us cumming in at 2.30am but it is 24hours so there was no need to be rude about it. Overall great stay and would stay again

Staff is correct and helpful, yet impossible to ever see an actual smile on their faces. the room i had was on the first floor, where it's very noisy early in the morning because of shifting tables/chairs in the (small and unattractive) breakfast room. the room is nicely decorated but lacks cleanliness! found several dark long hairs in my bed and the duvet - missing a cover - has stains on it. Bathroom had disgusting edges (see photo) and the curtain was stained too. the small window had a view over 3 brick walls, hardly letting in any day light. breakfast was very basic yet enough. in general, it would be fine if clean, but for the price, you can find better in Lisbon. perfect Wifi connection though.

Booked to stay here for 4 nights as our son was competing in a gym competition nearby. The man on reception welcomed us on arrival and gave us lots of information regarding local restaurants and places to visit. Rossio square is lovely but if your looking for something a bit livelier Nik a taxi and head to Bairro Alto about 15 mins away, Here there is lots of lovely bars and restaurants. There is a nearby metro station but local buses running all the time and also local taxis were always around. Plenty of places to visit! Tuk Tuk was brilliant and Jean Paul took us around the city and showed us some of the best places. 30/40 mins cost 20 euros and it was well worth it!! The hotel is very basic, small bar next to reception and a small area for breakfast, yes its not full English and if you like your tea there is a great selection to choose from. Lots of fruit, cereal, crossiants, yoghurt, bread/toast etc. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the towels changed. TV good and some English channels, the WIFI was excellent you couldn’t fault it. All staff very friendly and happy to help! Really enjoyed our stay at the Luena Hotel. Thank you Emma & Justin

Nice clean room, good quality/price. Helpful staff. Very easy to reach from airport by public transportation (currently closest underground station is closed). Enjoyed local atmosphere, not too much touristy. Only negative point: Poor breakfast.
