My opinion is that this hotel is far from center, city life and portoguese movida..far away from everything. Although everything is easily reachable with taxi or Ubers Tried to explore the surroundings and didn’t find much interesting things My suggestion is to spend some more money next city center rather spending it in taxi. Rooms are quite small and our bath was over flooding duo some pipeline issues. Breakfast was not included in our case but came with an extra charge of 15 euro pp. Anyway the staff at the concierge were polite and helpful and helped us to plan our trip. I would come back but I would rather rent a car or bike

We booked this hotel last year for a short 3 day city break. We travelled by Metro from Lisbon airport, exited at the last station S, Sebastiao and walked about 12-15 minutes to the hotel which was a bit tiring in the heat and pulling a small case uphill most of the way. I learnt later that Carris bus number 783 runs via the airport to Amoreiras stops next to the hotel, This is not highlighted in the hotel website, although they have mentioned car service which was quoted at 40 Euros. The reception staff were polite, friendly and informative about the local eateries etc. However, they failed to mention that the section of the hotel where our room was sited could not be accessed directly by the only working lift. We could not find the allotted room when we used the lift. A passing house-keeping staff led us through a short flight of stirs through a heavy fire door to our room. This could have been explained to us at check-in. The dining room at breakfast time in the morning was crowded but they staff were very efficient, clearing and prepping tables for newcomers. Breakfast was good, offering a wide variety of cold and hot items, juices, fruits, hot beverages, breads etc. The pastel de nata is highly recommended but limited in supply, so get there early! The room was fair sized with a balcony with not much of a view, Nice bathroom with a powerful rain showerhead, Coffeemaker was provided. The carpets were dated and stained as was mentioned in one of the reviews. The AC was adequate. The roof top terrace with the adjacent bar is worth a visit or two! There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, The A Valencina restaurant is a must, the grilled piri-piri chicken with salad and chips washed down with Portuguese Vino Verde is top of the bill. Also recommended is the Timeout food hall where excellent seafood and meat are dished out. Popular tourist spots are are easily accessed by the efficient and cheap transport system. Apart from the still unrepaired lift and the stained carpet, we enjoyed staying at this hotel.

The front desk staff was amazing! Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, great sense of service and very helpful. They made suggestions for restaurants, things to do and even help me with street parking before I was able to move my car to the garage. They are located in a calm area of the city which we appreciated. The breakfast buffet was amazing!

Travelling with my wife for a weeks break in the sun, which certainly did shine on us being 38 deg most of the week. All the staff at the hotel were fabulous and would go out of their way to help or assist with any issues , which were minimal. As our flight was delayed we did not arrive unitl 01.30, but still staff were there to greet us and make us feel at home. The location of the hotel is not to far away from the centre of Lisbon with all of it's sights and tourists, with the quaint streets and old parts of the picturesque city, although the nearest metro station is a good walk for some people and being all uphill on the way back in the heat this is sometimes not easy. TIP get the shuttle one way. The rooms were spacious and generally clean with the towels and bedding changed on a daily basis, the bed was very comfortable, just like being at home. If I had to pick fault it would be that the air conditioning wasn't very effective and noisy, some dirty grout in the shower and the headboard was badly worn. With regards to the food this was excellent and very plentiful, as it is available on a "help yourself buffet" and therefore you did not go hungry, my personal taste it could have been a bit hotter. Relaxing in the evening on the rooftop bar was ideal for the evening wind down whilst enjoying a beautifully prepared sangria, available in red or white! Overall this was a lovely hotel and ALL of the staff there were friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way. The food was delicious with a capital D. Also, the driver Rafael, of the shuttle bus was very helpful. My wife and I decided to celebrate our 21 wedding anniversary in Lisbon, and chose Smy Lisboa because of amenities, location, and reviews posted. We traveled with our son. What a fantastic place. The Check in experience was wonderful. We were assisted by Teodora Stratulat, who was a gem. She was super polite, answered all questions, gave us a map and directions and just made the experience awesome. We got an early flight coming in, so the room was not ready. Teodora and Nuno helped us with the luggage. Then Rafael Sosa offered to take us in their shuttle to the city center. He was awesome. Explained a lot about the history of Lisbon, the area we were staying in, offered great suggestions on the daily trips outside of Lisbon we were Planning to take, and even recommended a great restaurant to eat for lunch, BomJardin. Great place. Nice chicken, fries and salad and really inexpensive. Thank you Rafael. We reserved a suite in the hotel as we were traveling with our son. The room was very spacious it even had an additional 1/2 bath. Carpet needs a cleaning, but the rest of the room was really clean, had a good refrigerator, spacious closet with automatic illumination, safe and plenty of storage space. The suite had a nice dining room with 4 chairs. The main bathroom was very large, clean and comfortable. We had a King Bed and it was very clean and comfortable. I slept like a baby every night. Hallways were clean as well. Location is also very good. Only two blocks to the Eduardo VII Park, a 10 minute walk to Marques de Pombal plaza and the Avenida Liberdade, which is the main shopping area. And from there another 10 minutes to the city center. All a downhill walk. The Ritz Carlton was about three blocks away from our hotel. So location is perfect and in a quiet area. Breakfast was incredibly good. Plenty of breads, hot items, cold cuts, yogurt, fresh fruits, all sorts of pastries, and two coffee machines that made anything from espresso to Lattes and Cappuccinos. I praised their croissants, which they bake in house, and Hugo showed up one morning and came straight to my table with some croissants straight out of the oven. It was very nice of him to remember and he was always tending the breakfast area really well. Bubacar and Carolina also took care of everyone in the breakfast area, keeping it very clean and making sure there was always enough food. Great people. Before departing to Lisbon, I had called the hotel about getting a cake for our anniversary. They told me not to worry about it. I did not know what they were going to do. That day, when we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the hotel surprised us with a bottle of champagne and an assortment of their awesome desserts. It was waiting in the room for us. See pictures. What a wonderful touch !! Thank you !!! Other people to mention, Aries at the bar, who helped us with late night food after a lengthy a tiring sightseeing day. Pedro Oliveira who helped us arrange the Covid testing. Let the hotel help you do this. They were great. Rui Sales who was also very helpful in the front desk with Several requests we had. Overall what a wonderful place to stay. They made our trip that much better and our 21 anniversary unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Firstly, I would like to say that the staff is excellent. They are super polite, kind and go out of their way to help you. But overall I am absolutely not happy with my experience. The price-quality ratio is very bad. We paid quite a lot to stay here but the hotel is super outdated. - The room I stay in is outdated, the bed is damaged. The material is shredding of, which feels a bit grose, because that can end up in the bed. - The rooms have carpet floor. Which I never really enjoy in a hotel, it doesnt feel clean. - There are 2 elevators, of which only one is working. And this one doesnt go higher than the 6th floor. So if youre situated higher you have to walk the stairs. Also the elevator has a very hard landing sometimes, which is quite scary. One elevator is not enough for the amount of guests they have, which means a lot of waiting. - The hotel smells a bit grose sometimes. Not my room, but the hallways. Sometimes it smells like cleaning spray (probably to cover the other smell) - The terrace which is a great asset, hasnt been open. Eventhough its been 30 degrees. - The lighting in the lobby and dining area is too harsh, which doesnt give it a premium or cosy feeling at all. - Decoration and all in the rooms is not cosy, overall gives a very outdated feeling.

Recently stayed at the SMY Lisboa for 4 nights with my friend for our Lisbon city break. It’s a lovely hotel staff are really friendly and extremely helpful from giving us travel tips to arranging taxis for us. The hotel is approx 20min walk from the centre it is downhill so quite a nice walk however the hotel offers a shuttle which we used most days and would be lost without it . Big shout out to Rafael the shuttle bus driver such a nice guy couldn’t do enough to help us get around, gave us advice on the different types of transport to get around and recommended amazing tourist spots for us to visit ! He really helped make our trip amazing ! Would 100% recommend staying here !

The hotel offers a free shuttle service operating mornings and afternoons that will take you to Praça dos Restauradores in the city centre. Our driver Rafael was incredibly helpful and friendly. He is very knowledgeable about things to do in Lisbon and surroundings and was able o recommend places to visit for our planned trip to Sintra. I would highly recommend the use of this service, and Rafael in particular.

The best thing about this hotel is friendly and helpful staff. They make this hotel. The hotel is clean but relatively worn. I would say it is „fine” for a stay, but one should not expect anything more. The worst thing in this hotel is… coffe. Never before have I drunk so awful coffee. That was probably the first time I could not drink is at all. There are also other downsides: - rooms seem to be small (my was) and strangely designed with a wardrobe by the bed, making it a bit difficult to store clothes there - surrounding of the hotel is a desert with no restaurants, shops etc with exceotiin of a shopping centre. But if you like to sit in an outside umbrella garden and have a drink, no chances. - the hotel restaurant is rather small and you feel crowded during the breakfast. The latter are also poorer than in comprable hotels I have visited. - there is a food smell on the corridor due to dirty plates after room meals being gathered in staircases. -wifi is anoying as you need to give your personal data to log in. Thus it is not actually free as you pay for it with your data. It also often loggs you out for no reason.

We are sorry to understand your stay with us was not as wonderful as we would have liked it to be. We can see our location did not please you, for instance, although we have many pastries and coffee shops near our hotel and, a bit down - about 5 to 10 minutes walking - we have Parque Eduardo VII, with at least a couple of beautiful, very enjoyable terraces. Additionally, as you've mentioned, we have two shopping centres very close to our hotel, that provide everything one might need! Regarding our coffee, this is a critique we haven't received many times before, but we will certainly analyze it, as we wish to make sure our products have the quality necessary to be offered to our guests. We will equally take note of the structural and technical downsides you mention, and understand alongisde our management what can be improved.
