We just came back from a long weekend in Lisbon and had a fabulous stay at the Occidental Lisboa. We highly recommend it. Lovely rooms, true to a 4 star hotel, and fantastic value for money. Lovely staff and great quality food. We'll be back I'm sure :)

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed in Occidental Lisboa for a week while on a group tour. As the hotel's website hints, it is far from the touristy part of Lisbon. A five-minute walk is required to reach a Tram 24 stop which links to hotel to the historic center of Lisbon so we wouldn't have chosen Occidental Lisboa if travelling to Lisbon on our own. However, we're glad that we ended up in Occidental Lisboa. The hotel's website doesn't do the hotel justice. It doesn't mention the coffee and tea making facilities in each room or the handy guide for the 99 TV channels and, of course, because of its own a la carte restaurant, it doesn't mention the nearby restaurants, such as the highly recommended Restaurant "A Valencia". The website does mention the Amoreiras shopping center but, on our one free day, we chose to walk to the El Corte Ingles department store (recommended in the hotel's TripAdvisor reviews) and the adjacent Decathlon store - we're glad we did.

Dear Guest, Thank you for take time to post your fantastic review about Hotel Occidental Lisboa. We are glad that you enjoyed the location and the hotel facilities. We do have our room facilities described in our website and in others webs. Regarding the local businesses such as Valencia and many others of excellent quality are not mentioned not because the hotel has a restaurant but because the options are abundant and the most varied. From Portuguese food like "A Valenciana" to the Italian restaurants and others, also highly recommended. These and all the needs that our customers may have will always be welcomed and recommended by our staff. Now that you know our hotel better we hope to be able to count on your visit again. Best Regards, Rafael Santos - Front Office Manager

The property is small and room size is questionable Bathrooms are very small and does require rethinking of the design. The building is split with glass partion at every level which is disaster to get from one section of the floor to another if you have family and friends staying at same hotel on different floors. The Parking is complete mess every time you have get out the guest have to take the front office staff to open the gate. There is no mechanism of remotely opening the door which increases quite some time upto 30 mins to take you car out as front desk staff has guest most of the time at the desk. Overall the place requires lot of rethinking on how they would possibly operate going forward in this hyper competitive market and we would not recommend any families to book there stays at this property going forward.

Dear Occidental Guest, Although we are quite surprised and dismayed by the content of your review regarding your holiday at Occidental Lisboa hotel, please rest assured that your comments have been taken onboard and revised by the entire Management team, however we would like to take this opportunity to clarify certain aspects of your review as a simple matter of exactness of the information reported. At Occidental Lisboa, there are available various typologies that can be found throughout the hotel, in our hotel there is the possibility to choose view as well as room features in just one floor, should we have been contacted, we would have been able to strategically put you, your friends and family as close as possible, like it happens with most of the families that we welcome in our hotel. We do recommend, for a second experience, to visit our website, or to contact our call center for any required information, there could be an exact room adapted to your needs and expectations. We are located in the city center, about 25 minutes (walking distance) away from the old part of the city, every public car park in Lisboa surrounding this area is paid until 1 AM, for that matters, we offer a parking service very near to our Hotel, for safety reasons, and only during the weekend, the parking door is managed from the front desk, however we do also give the chance of vallet parking, it is offered to our guests the possibility to park and pick up the car. Nevertheless we cannot allow guests to leave with a feeling of dissatisfaction. For this reasons, the items mentioned will be discussed with our teams to see how we can improve. We would also like to take this opportunity to have the possibility of a new visit, in order to prove what Occidental Lisboa service, is really all about With our best regards
