Guests are consistently impressed by the cleanliness, from the spotless bathrooms to well-kept rooms. Although the hotel's value receives mixed reviews due to some concerns about food quality, its central location is highly regarded for proximity to local attractions.

Detailed Reviews
This is by far the best fine hotel in the city of Lisbon. In my previous stays in Lisbon, I've stayed at other 5 star hotels (including the ones recommended by Amex's Fine Hotels Program), but nothing comes close to the service from this hotel. This is truly 5 star service from the doorman, to the lobby staff, to the cleaning staff and to the staff at the restaurant.
Pros: My flight landed early in the morning. I went straight to the hotel around 10AM, expecting the usual "oh, you came too early and we won't have any room until 3pm". Well, there wasn't a room available but they said a room can be made available within 1 hour and they will call the cleaning staff to make it a priority. So I went down to the bar/restaurant and had a wonderful drink or two sitting in the outdoor space. Well, as promised, they made a room available and even gave me an upgrade! I was able to shower by 11AM and ready for lunch in the city. What a service.
As a side note, I've stayed in Amex's FHR hotels in Lisbon and even though the program highlights 12PM early check, I've never received that and the last FHR hotel in Lisbon made me wait until 5pm (and I had to constantly go to the lobby staff for update because that's two hours later than even the standard check in time)
Overall, the location of this hotel was superb. Service was superb. And I will only stay here from now on whenever I am in Lisbon.

The hotel has an excellent location, a very attentive and kind service, the hotel is a charm with a nice outdoor area. I think I peek in some details like the fridge bar very weak and felt a lack of flowers, a small vase that is in the rooms. We wanted to open the windows but the noise of machines, I believe it came from the kitchen, was very unpleasant so we kept the windows always closed and therefore also, we did not use our balcony. The two times we had dinner at the restaurant disappointed us a lot. The first time we were a group of 6 people, it took very long and the food was not good at all. My dust was hard and dry like my husband's flesh. The next dinner didn’t take long but it wasn’t good again. The hotel considered so good and award-winning, disappointed us and we did not feel the desire to return on our next time in Lisbon.

Lovely property with plenty of charm and in an upscale central location. It doesn’t feel particularly corporate which is a plus! Specially, I enjoyed the decor choices and the various rooms to lounge.
Service by everyone we interacted with was fantastic and it is clear they are well trained. In general, staff morale appeared high.
Breakfast was solid and the only improvement opportunity is to close the courtyard door to limit flies from also enjoying the buffet. Dinner service was excellent but average in terms of the food and cocktails itself. More attention could be paid on this front considering the price point.
The gym is adequate for basic fitness activities and the small swimming pool is good for taking a quick dip. Both were well maintained and served our specific needs well.
Our 6th floor suite served us well with plenty of space and we found it well stocked. The room could use some additional lighting but beyond that minor enhancement we had no complaints. Any requests we had were take care of promptly.
We enjoyed our stay and certainly will repeat if we found ourselves in Lisbon again.

Our experience at the Valverde Hotel was unfortunately disappointing. During our two night stay, the air conditioning in our room was not working. When we noticed this the first night, we contacted the front desk representative who came to our unit and attempted to adjust the settings. Unfortunately the air conditioning still did not fully cool, and by the second night did not work at all. We could not open the windows to allow cool air in because of all the smoking outside that would enter the room. The rooms are also incredibly small, and very very dark inside. If you are seeking a 5-star hotel experience, or even just basic comfort and ventilation, it is best to look elsewhere.

Fantastic hotel! Super comfortable accommodation, very well decorated, quality sheets and pillows. Coffee and coffee maker available in the room. Wonderful shower!! Pay special attention to bathroom amenities, such as body lotion, soap, shampoo and conditioner of extreme quality (I even bought it and brought it to Brazil) because it is so wonderful! The highlight was the breakfast, simply fantastic, very complete! The staff is also amazing, always friendly, friendly and very helpful. We have nothing but praise for this hotel! We will recommend it to friends who are in Lisbon.

This is a very nicely located hotel with lots of charm. It was recommended to us by many friends and having stayed in Lisbon in other 5* hotels we can compare. Overall I would say a well run house with some room for improvement across many areas i.e. skill level of service people varies a lot, many simple do not know that much. For a Relais Chateaux the food was substandard both at breakfast and lunch. Finally, hotels in Lisbon have become very expensive, Valverde alike, - not sure this is sustainable for what is offered.

A lovely hotel with gorgeous architecture and interior design. Located right smack downtown, it's the perfect location to go sightseeing, do high-end shopping, or exploring the many fine restaurants in Lisbon. It's also easily accessed by foot or taxi—and only a 20-minute cab ride to the airport with light traffic. The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms, which is rare in Lisbon. I found the beds to be a bit stiff for my taste, and the TV remote didn't really work. Also, my room lost electrical power on the final morning before I departed, but that's not anyone's fault. Overall, customer service was much better than at more expensive hotels I've stayed in the area. I would definitely return.

The hotel is on the main shopping street in Lisbon. Lisbon is a relatively small city and this hotel was central to everything, you are able to walk everywhere.
We arrived and were welcomed at reception, check in was quick and seamless. The hotel is laid out in such a way that even if it is busy you rarely see other people unless at breakfast which is nice as it never felt crowded. We had booked a junior suite and were in room 302. Great size room, doors that opened over the main street which could have been noisy at night but they were so well glazed we couldn't hear any noise at all. Room was large with lovely high ceilings, it had a decent sized dressing room and a large bathroom with both a tub and walk in shower. Bed was really comfortable. The only small suggestion for improvement I could think to make would be to put a plug socket near a mirror so people can dry and style their hair. There were no sockets in the bathroom and the hairdryer lead wasn't long enough to stretch to the mirror in the dressing room. Minor point though. Usual things such as bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas were in the room. Turn down and cleaning service were excellent. Freely gave out more water, towels etc if requested and the room was cleaned to a very high standard.
The hotel is boutique in style and had a number of areas indoors where you could sit and work or read or just be somewhere other than your room. These were all cosy and nicely decorated. The large outside terrace is lovey for breakfast or drinks in the evening weather permitting. They did have good outdoor heaters and blankets available. There is also a small heated pool for warmer months or the brave. Drinks in the bar and the service were lovely.
We thought there was excellent choice at breakfast, cold buffet, cereal, meat and cheese and pastries and a good hot menu to choose from and you can order as much as you need. The breakfast service manager was a stand out member of staff, she couldn't do enough to help and on the one occasion there was confusion with orders she personally resolved it and couldn't apologise enough.
We ate in the restaurant one night. The design is lovely quite Japanese in style and it was relatively busy which gave it a nice atmosphere. I think personally the food in the evening restaurant has room for improvement. Some dishes were good, others just OK. I understand food is personal preference but some dishes lacked flavour. That said it would be no means stop me returning to stay at the hotel and I would definitely return to stay.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for such lovely and kind words, it makes us extremely happy that the Valverde Hotel left such an impression! We always advise our guests to let us know their concerns during their stay because there was indeed not one, but two plug sockets near the mirror, but for decoration purposes, they are covered by a black lid, easily gone unoticed, as it seems to have been the case! We are always improving and our guest's feedback is the best way for us to grow, so thank you for taking the time to provide us with all the details. We will have some surpriese coming soon so please let us know should you find yourself back in Lisbon! Kind regards,

Understated luxury. Loved this hotel. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and comfortable, and pretty quiet. Breakfast had a large array of fresh cooked or baked items plus fresh fruit, nuts, seeds and the most delicious home-made natural yoghurt. The ham and cheese selection was delicious too. But most of all the staff were wonderful. They made this hotel as good as it was. This included the reception staff, door staff, the staff in charge of breakfast and those servicing the rooms. Respectful, friendly and incredibly helpful, especially when finding us a last minute room when our flight home was cancelled. Would definitely consider staying here again, and would recommend to others without hesitation.

The breakfast has few options for a hotel of this category.
At check in my wife requested schedule of the massage service, which is offered at the reception, but did not get a return on your request.
In general, the staff are attentive, but the hospitality services themselves could have been much better.
The bottles of salt water stayed accumulated in the bar for 5 days, along with taps. They are details, but that more demanding guests notice.

Yes there is - it only has a running machine and a bike (can't remember which type), but lots of weights and it is air conditioned and decent space for a small hotel.
Uber is very quick and inexpensive in Portugal and all the drivers we had were excellent.
Hi, I honestly do not recall if a room key is required for the elevator. The hotel entrance is very small, and I always felt safe. I am sure you can email the hotel and they will respond quickly.
I’m sorry that I also do not know. However, the staff was so remarkably helpful my money is on them satisfying you!
