The room was clean had the amenities one would expect, breakfast was exceptional Had supper and again was very satisfied with the meal and service. All the desk attendances helped to make you feel at home comfortable and was willing to go over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in ever way possible Dinning room staff as well were friendly always smiling and made you feel as though you were family and never wanted you to leave. Great people good location and a unique hotel. Would definately stay there again
The Valverde is charming. Nice rooms, well designed central courtyard, good food. But the thing that makes it is the staff who are superlative. Helpful, considerate, attentive. A particular shout out for Reuben on reception who was thoughtful with his advice and to Bruno on the front door. We had a late issue with our room not being available and again this was dealt with swiftly and well. Boutique hotel at its best.
Very nice room with roomy terrace overlooking the garden. Service was exceptional, always with a smile, whatever you want. Hotel felt intimate and warm. Had an exceptional dinner at the hotel restaurant…food, service, and atmosphere.
If you’re coming to Lisbon, you absolutely must stay at the Valverde Hotel. Ideal location aside, the hotel is incredibly beautiful, the service was fantastic, the rooms are so comfortable, the pool and other amenities are great and it is such a lovely place to stay - whether you’re traveling alone, with friends, with a significant other or with family. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip!
The hotel itself is nice inside and the room and pool area were alright. However, the service was really bad, specially for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. 1. We could never reach the room service number. 2. We were given a voucher for a welcome drink. When we went to the bar to get our drink, we were seated but never served for a full 30mins. We left and the staff never noticed we weren’t even served. We complained at the reception and they said they would make it up for us and we would be compensated, but nothing was done. 3. Our stay, which was booked by an agency, was supposed to be a VIP guest experience and was meant to included a “Surprise gift”. We were given a plate of grapes and told that was the surprise gift. There was also a bar of soap gifted to us another day. Overall it seemed underwhelming for what was meant to be a VIP experience. 4. The food in the restaurant was ok. I could see they were trying to do sophisticated dishes but they were not up to the standard we were expecting. The linguini was actually really tasty, but the duck was cold and dry. Overall the staff seemed unprofessional and not too pleasant. I don’t think it’s worth the price so I would not stay here again.…
We were very disappointed with our experience and overall stay. For the type of hotel, it boasts and leads one to believe; it is not the case. Upon check-in, the front desk assigned us the worst room in the hotel. Politely we inquired if something could be done and move the location of the room elsewhere. It took some convincing but eventually we were shown another room and somewhat better location. The room was decorated very sparsely and not quite up the standards of what a luxury hotel should be. But it worked! The location is in the heart of chic shopping and dining areas. The next morning, we had our breakfast outdoors and it was a lovely experience. Thoughtful morning offerings with limited choices for eggs, omlettes, pancakes or similar items. We fueled up and were ready to take on the streets of Lisbon! The next morning, we experienced a very rude and almost nasty manager that really upset me. I asked for hot tea and was criticized for using the wrong language. Then a full table next to us decided to smoke and we had to move our dishes and such after we arrived first. My thoughts about this hotel declined. I would not stay here nor recommend it.…
Excellent repeat stay at this boutique property located in a calm, leafy, and tony part of Lisbon. Rooms attractively designed with a lot of thoughtful touches like automatic nightlights. Great common areas, small pool and multiple outside spaces. Nice included full breakfast. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Great luxe boutique hotel.
I stayed for a two day business trip and cannot recommend this hotel enough. Staff were attentive and friendly and dealt with all my requests promptly and efficiently. The location is very central and near to restaurants, shops and more. I loved the hotel bathroom products! Christelle was super helpful when I wanted to take them home!! Will definitely return!
What a great experience to spend time here. The position was perfect to visit the centre. Room was spacious and clean. The meals were delicious but best of all was the staff. They were all extremely friendly and helpful whether we needed a Tuk tuk tour, a taxi or suggestions on sights. Will definitely be back!
My family of four adults spent two nights in Lisbon at the very chic hotel on Avenida da Liberdade. This is the heart of high end retail in the city. The staff was wonderful. Our guest rooms were spacious with small balconies and marble accented bathrooms. We ate breakfast every morning in their restaurant’s outdoor courtyard. The food was very good. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict and pancakes. Eduardo at the front desk secured us dinner reservations each night at two fabulous restaurants around the corner from the hotel. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and eager to help which is a trademark of Relais & Chateaux properties. I would highly recommend this hotel visiting Lisbon and wanting to stay in the hub of the action.
