Hotel Valverde Lisboa garners appreciation for its charming and stylish atmosphere, with guests frequently commending the hotel's central location, which allows easy access to Lisbon's attractions. The rooms, while cozy and well-designed, have received some criticism regarding size and lighting. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with the exception of occasional remarks on maid service.
Amenities such as the pool and luxurious touches are popular among guests. Travelers' opinions on value and service vary; some question the cost given the services provided, while others are pleased with the attentive staff.

Detailed Reviews
From the moment we walked in the Valeverde Hotel entrance going through the reception to the room, we were thoroughly impressed. The interior decor was upscale yet warm and inviting and the personnel we encountered were all very professional, pleasant and accommodating. The decor of our 2nd floor room was crisp and comfortable and wow, what an amazing view from our balcony – facing the Liberdade Avenue, in fact, great location.
I noted that cleanliness was absolutely wonderful, from the reception, living room, restaurant to the room, everything was impeccably clean.
The service staff was fabulous and kind. We especially enjoyed the details in our room, after a long day, what is more pleasant than arrive to your room and find a fruit platter, bed open, slippers next to the bed, TV directed to us – those details were brillant!
The breakfast was also very good with a lot of diverse food, pastry, fruit, and excellent natural juices!!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all the work the staff put into our visit.
Overall, what an amazing hotel, we would definitely recommend the VilaVerde Boutique hotel as a great place to come to relax and enjoy, even for a business trip as ours.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind words and remarks regarding the Valverde Hotel. We do our best efforts, day in and day out, to make sure that our accommodations, staff, and services are up to our guest's standards as we put in a lot of work into every fine detail to make sure everything is ready and perfect for their arrival. We want everyone that visits us to feel at home, even if they are miles away from theirs so we are truly happy that our efforts are appreciated. We look forward to an eventual future visit as our staff is always eager to see returning guests and our restaurant's delights (not just the breakfast) are waiting. Kind regards,

We had an unexpected layover in Lisbon, and our misfortune turned around the moment we arrived at the Valverde. The staff was detailed and friendly, and provided a delicious cheese plate as a welcome gift. They also upgraded us to the Valverde Suite, which had stunning views of Lisbon. We found the location perfect for walking around to different restaurants and sights.
The cherry on top was at check out. I mentioned how much I liked the toiletries they provided, and asked if they were available for purchase nearby. When we returned to pick up our luggage, they had a package of the toiletries waiting for me, free of charge. Wonderful service, and we will definitely stay at the Valverde again!

We had a triple occupancy room, and this was one of the largest rooms we have had in Europe. The best part of the room was a walk in wardrobe, that allowed us to comfortably unpack and not create clutter in the living spaces.
Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
Location is also great, about a 15 minute walk to the old town area.

The hotel is on the main shopping street in Lisbon. Lisbon is a relatively small city and this hotel was central to everything, you are able to walk everywhere.
We arrived and were welcomed at reception, check in was quick and seamless. The hotel is laid out in such a way that even if it is busy you rarely see other people unless at breakfast which is nice as it never felt crowded. We had booked a junior suite and were in room 302. Great size room, doors that opened over the main street which could have been noisy at night but they were so well glazed we couldn't hear any noise at all. Room was large with lovely high ceilings, it had a decent sized dressing room and a large bathroom with both a tub and walk in shower. Bed was really comfortable. The only small suggestion for improvement I could think to make would be to put a plug socket near a mirror so people can dry and style their hair. There were no sockets in the bathroom and the hairdryer lead wasn't long enough to stretch to the mirror in the dressing room. Minor point though. Usual things such as bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas were in the room. Turn down and cleaning service were excellent. Freely gave out more water, towels etc if requested and the room was cleaned to a very high standard.
The hotel is boutique in style and had a number of areas indoors where you could sit and work or read or just be somewhere other than your room. These were all cosy and nicely decorated. The large outside terrace is lovey for breakfast or drinks in the evening weather permitting. They did have good outdoor heaters and blankets available. There is also a small heated pool for warmer months or the brave. Drinks in the bar and the service were lovely.
We thought there was excellent choice at breakfast, cold buffet, cereal, meat and cheese and pastries and a good hot menu to choose from and you can order as much as you need. The breakfast service manager was a stand out member of staff, she couldn't do enough to help and on the one occasion there was confusion with orders she personally resolved it and couldn't apologise enough.
We ate in the restaurant one night. The design is lovely quite Japanese in style and it was relatively busy which gave it a nice atmosphere. I think personally the food in the evening restaurant has room for improvement. Some dishes were good, others just OK. I understand food is personal preference but some dishes lacked flavour. That said it would be no means stop me returning to stay at the hotel and I would definitely return to stay.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for such lovely and kind words, it makes us extremely happy that the Valverde Hotel left such an impression! We always advise our guests to let us know their concerns during their stay because there was indeed not one, but two plug sockets near the mirror, but for decoration purposes, they are covered by a black lid, easily gone unoticed, as it seems to have been the case! We are always improving and our guest's feedback is the best way for us to grow, so thank you for taking the time to provide us with all the details. We will have some surpriese coming soon so please let us know should you find yourself back in Lisbon! Kind regards,

The Valverde is an elegant and warm hotel with fantastically friendly & helpful staff. The hotel is centrally located in the main shopping area, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space and a welcome drink on arrival. The rooms are regularly serviced with plenty of toiletries, hairdryer, slippers and robe, plenty of plug sockets and USB ports (even beside the bed), room safe and sufficient storage space. The breakfast is a lovely buffet service. However, there is also a fantastic coffee shop next door if you choose to have breakfast out. The hotel restaurant is nice but very quiet. It does have a nice but small menu, I would suggest there are better places to eat in the evening.
The service throughout our 5 day stay was impeccable, friendly, engaging and warm.
Taxi was about €12 and 10 minutes from the airport.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Lisbon for a few days.

Great location, desk service and full marks for boutique style, however the hotel did not live up to our expectations. Our deluxe garden room was expensive for a small metal balcony overlooking the garden - no direct garden access as the booking picture had. It was web summit week and the two nights we wanted to use the bar, we couldn’t because of functions and were given no notice of this. Breakfast was good, but one morning we waited over 20 mins for a poached egg even though it was quiet. All small things but I think we expected excellence all round for such an awarded and expensive hotel.

Dear guest, Thank you for your comment and feedback. All of our Garden rooms have the same 8 square meter balcony overviewing our courtyard and pool. The ones on the 1st floor connect to the pool area but there is no direct access to it from the room so we understand that the picture may cause unwanted confusion as the pictures were taken from that floor. As for the functions, during hectic times such as the Web Summit, some events were being hosted by guests on our grounds but our restaurant and bar were working normally for guests and had nothing to do with events, after all, our guests are our main focus. Also, we apologize for the waiting time on the a-la-carte menu during breakfast time, eggs benedict take a few minutes to prepare since they are done on request. We regret that your stay was not up to the expectation but we assure you that timing is everything, and the Web Summit is one week of aggitation on the oasis of stillness that is the Valverde Hotel. We hope we'll be able to have another opportunity to have you stay with us any other time for you to experience what the Valverde Hotel is all about. Kind regards,

Overall, the hotel is quite lovely - with small, but lovely rooms. The staff is very kind and informative, and extremely helpful in putting together guides, drivers or other assistance.
I would say there are some legitimate concerns. First, our room, which was immediately adjacent to the hotel’s small pool, was far too noisy. We could hear the banging from the adjacent nightclub (JNCQUOI), which offers its guests a raging party experience just next door. The hotel has good soundproofing, but there’s nothing that can be done with that kind of noise. So sleep was lost.
Second, the breakfast could use improvement. The staffing is underwhelming, as each day of four it took at least 20 minutes just to get coffee or even a glass of water. The buffet is similarly underwhelming, with small quantities of cereals or fruit offered to the many guests. There simply isn’t enough food offered.
I liked the hotel, but would not likely return.

Dear Mr. Jonathan Oakland, Thank you very much for your review! It is always important to have your feedback, even if it is not so good as wanted to! This is the only way we can improve our service. We apologize your stay did not meet your expectations. We already talked with our good neighbours, JNCQUOI and this situation with the noise is already outdated. Regarding the breakfast this was really not the standards of our service, but we are improving. We hope we the chance to welcoming you again to erase the bad impression you got of the hotel. This is a delightful and very well appointed hotel, perfectly placed for visiting lovely Lisbon. It would win plenty of accolades from us for comfort and facilities anyway - but what places it head and shoulders above the rest, is the staff and the customer service. From the sincere and warm welcome we received on arrival, they were all consistent in providing an interested, empathetic but by no means intrusive personal service. It was impressive and lifted an already delightful stay to another level. The icing on the cake (forgive the pun...) was their acknowledgement of my birthday, including champagne and cake. They are experts at what they do and we hope the hotel owners recognise that it is their staff that make this an exception hotel.

The entrance is on the street level and has no doorman. When you arrive you must walk up 25 steps or so to get to the lobby, this can be challenging when carrying luggage.
I booked their largest suite that looks out the back of the hotel with very pretty rooftop views.
The room is well decorated and reminds me of the chiltern House in London or the Gramercy Park in NYC. However, the room and bathroom was not clean and the shower was very worn out.
The room itself is quite dark despite multiple windows, albeit some are the size of airplane windows. Light just doesn’t enter well and the dark furnishings don’t help.
The restaurant is quite small and there’s little to do in the hotel but you’re next to several high profile restaurants such as JNCQUOI.
The staff are very friendly and the location is excellent. However, considering the price compared to other hotels in Lisbon I expected much more. It is not 5 star by US or UK standards.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking your time leaving us a comment. We regret that your experience wasn't quite as you expected, given our size and darker theme of the hotel. In this area of Lisbon, we are limited by some of the geographical conditions and municipal building runes. On a brighter note, you would be glad to know that we are currently undergoing an expansion project where we bought the building behind us and are remodeling, doubling in capacity, and having new and upgraded facilities, and a new entrance (that does not include stairs). We hope you had a safe trip back home, and our staff is looking forward to having you visit us again to have a look at the new and improved Valverde Hotel, should you come by the city. Best regards,

A lovely hotel with gorgeous architecture and interior design. Located right smack downtown, it's the perfect location to go sightseeing, do high-end shopping, or exploring the many fine restaurants in Lisbon. It's also easily accessed by foot or taxi—and only a 20-minute cab ride to the airport with light traffic. The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms, which is rare in Lisbon. I found the beds to be a bit stiff for my taste, and the TV remote didn't really work. Also, my room lost electrical power on the final morning before I departed, but that's not anyone's fault. Overall, customer service was much better than at more expensive hotels I've stayed in the area. I would definitely return.

Yes there is - it only has a running machine and a bike (can't remember which type), but lots of weights and it is air conditioned and decent space for a small hotel.
Uber is very quick and inexpensive in Portugal and all the drivers we had were excellent.
Hi, I honestly do not recall if a room key is required for the elevator. The hotel entrance is very small, and I always felt safe. I am sure you can email the hotel and they will respond quickly.
I’m sorry that I also do not know. However, the staff was so remarkably helpful my money is on them satisfying you!
