This hotel is in a greal location with lots of lovely eating places within walking distance. The breakfast room looks fantastic and the breakfast was nice too. We didn't like the cooked food so much but there was lots of cereals, fresh fruit and bread to set you up for the day. The air con in the bedroom was very...

If like us, when you are doing a city break - the location is the deciding factor for a Hotel and amenities are not required as you will be spending the whole time that you are not sleeping, out in the city. Our bedroom was quietly situated on the top floor in the eves, decorated in muted colours with wooden...

Only needed a night in Lisbon so this was nice and central. The room itself was poor. Toilet/shower/sink in the room so no privacy. No light in the shower so main light had to be on, but even then gloomy shower and no lie in for other half. Loo so small, partner hit his head on door every time he...

If you are looking for a central location, this is the place to stay! We stayed here for three nights and definitely worth the money. We were looking for a central hotel, with a nice&clean room. It has a great position, you can easily reach Praca do Comercio and other great attractions. The metro station Baixa Chiado is just near...

Lovely hotel right in the centre of things, easy walk to shops, bars, hotel room big good air con which was good as it was very hot. You must take the old tram 28 to the old town of Alfma, old cobbled streets and great views out to sea. Buy all day ticket from metro will let you on trams,...

Absolutely horrible stay. I got a really bad room, dirty and smelly. It was really discusting. Location is good but that's not compensating for anything I have never left a hotel during my business trips, after all it is only a night stay after work. This time I preferred to leave even if it meant I lost money. Breakfast was...

Unfortuntely there was a strong smell of old humidity and a water leak from the cealing causing a water drop sound all night and moisture which caused a severe allergy. The ceiling was damaged with moisture bubbles Having nowhere to go, after a long flight and being tired I only stayed that night. The room did not have soap, shampoo or...

It's a good hotel. You get what you pay for! We stayed there for 7 days during Christmas time with our 5 months old baby. Its very well located, great staff, clean. We asked to be located in a room facing the opposite of the main street as we were told that can be noisy in that side.

Hotel is at the centre of everything and clean. Definitely a 3 star with no delusions of being anything else but for the price paid u shouldn't complain (paid 105 euros bwn 3 people per night at short notice and in peak season incl breakfast)...but I wouldn't book my honeymoon here. My score is based on value for money, location...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
