Offering a bridge between modernity and the past the Heritage Avenida Liberdade Hotel is a space that is truly urban, Lisbon and Portuguese, that enriches the city's heritage. The Restoration maintains all elements of the 18th-century facade on a project of the internationally famous architect Miguel Câncio Martins. The location makes it incredibly convenient for the old city, on the corner of the exclusive Avenida da Liberdade and the ancient Largo da Anunciada.

Planning for our stay in Portugal we booked this hotel the night of our arrival and for the night before departure. British Air changed schedules forcing us to arrive a day later forcing us to cancel the arrival night. We did stay our last night in Lisbon and were pleased with every aspect of the hotel be it the staff, our room, the location or the included breakfast. Arriving from the train station by taxi, we entered the door facing Avenida da Liberdade and carried our luggage down a short flight of stairs. We realized after checking in there’s a ramp into the hotel from the doors facing the side street which makes bringing luggage in much easier. Oh, well. Check in was quick with a brief introduction to the facilities, amenities and breakfast details. Our deluxe Lisboa room was on the third floor overlooking Avenida da Liberdade through the trees. Double sets of Double doors opened to two Juliet balconies, which when closed, eliminated both outside light and traffic noise. We slept soundly in a comfortable King size bed, A/C providing sufficient cool air. The bathroom had both a tub and separate shower and double sinks. Everything was in working order. Breakfast was served at the rear of the reception area past the access ramp from the side street. Yes, as one reviewer pointed out, one sits in a stuffed chair with the plate of food on their lap, but it worked fine. Breakfast was good to begin the day. Although we were given a museum pass we didn’t use it due to lack of time and the fact this was our third trip to Lisbon. Overall, we liked this hotel better than the much larger Tivoli up the street where we stayed two nights before heading north. Heritage Avenida offered us everything we needed. When we return to Lisbon, this hotel will be our destination.

Hotel's Favorite
A lovely 3 night stay in this great Hotel. A fantastic location, a short walk to the main attractions but far enough away from the main crowded areas. Our room,on the 5th floor, looked out over the main avenue but we slept well, the shutters and double glazing certainly did the job. Breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed the all day coffee, tea etc and a glass of port just to round off the day. Lisbon was lovely. The hills are steep, but having travelled from Cumbria it was only what we are used too!

Response from , General Manager at Heritage Avenida Liberdade, a Lisbon Heritage Collection

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing our hotel and for your kind review. We are very happy to read that you had a lovely stay with us and that you enjoyed our privileged location at the exclusive Avenida Liberdade. Lisbon is a hilly city and that is one of the reasons that makes it so picturesque. The best way to appreciate our city is to take a public transport to the top of the different hills (there are funiculars, trams, buses, etc.) and from there effortlessly walk down, calmly enjoying the interesting details of this beautiful city. We look forward to welcoming you again soon for a more relaxing stay :) Kindest regards, Diogo Laranjo General Manager

The location on Avenida da Liberdade is perfect. The staff are friendly enough. There's free port or muscatel in the lounge. If you book and are over the age of 50 you get a free museum pass. But overall it's not very scintillating. There is no proper dining room - you have to sit eating your breakfast on low soft seating with the table kind of above you. The breakfast is good enough, but no more. We would choose somewhere a bit more enticing next time. One little whinge. We came in one afternoon and requested a capuccino. 'No problem'. It came - made with those sachets of sweet instant powder that they serve on Turkish buses. But this is a hotel! And we had to pay for it!

We stayed at this hotel for a week during September . The hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. Our rooms were large and provided everything we needed. The very best thing was the quality of every single member member of staff. The staff on the front desk were extremely helpful and very welcoming. The hotel lobby has a very casual but well organised bar and breakfast area which was always well staffed with pastries and Port available 24/7. Would definitely return to this lovely hotel

As a sensitive and with special care for detail restoration project, the hotel is a heritage building with an understated presence in the heart of the city, distinguished by elegant interiors and impeccable service. We loved the easy access to many of the most attractive amenities of the city and the special treats in the lobby available at all times. I will not let to much time pass before my next visit to this stylish hotel.
