Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

We had a small private room with a bathroom in it. The hostel is quite nice, they offer a lot options to do like eating together or do a trip to Sintra. The staff was really friendly and open minded. They took care of our wishes and they could answer all our questions. The hostel is located directly in the center. The tram is just around the corner. The river is just a 10 minutes walk away from the hostel.

Amazing staff always bringing refreshing iced tea. Delicious house dinners with all the wine and beer. Great part of the city to stay in and it attracts the best kind of travellers so the pub crawls are the best!

loved this place and all the staff. Warmest welcome ive ever had in a hostel and any hotel for that matter ! planned our trip perfectly for us. Opened our eyes to things we didnt even know were in lisbon, the afternoon at SUD lisboa pool was a highlight for my boyfriends birthday. Helped me organise a surprise dinner even sung him happy birthday with the crew of friends we made there. Will never forget this trip and the people at WLFT who made it so special. VERY CLEAN and amazing breakfast.

Great time at WLFT. Staff is amazing and always there to assist with any questions. The manager is the best and runs a free hot tea service occasionally thru the day or night just for fun. Also Marcus is full service and always with a smile on his face. They run all kinds of tours, dinners and events!! Don't miss their small group tour to Sintra! Hostel location to City Center and Alfama is exceptional.

The thing with hostels is that no matter how bad is the infrastructure, for me it's always about the people you meet. In the case of We Love F. Tourists I met not only great F. Tourists but also great F. staff. The hostel itself is in pretty good localisation, close to bars, historic part of Lisbon, Metro station, etc. The facility is ok, clean, with nice common space. The only downside is no air-conditioning and the thing is that during our stay it was crazy hot.
