The first and last meal of our Portugal trip was from atop the magnificent rooftop restaurant at the Bairro Alto hotel, where the complimentary breakfast is served. The view of the red roofs of Lisbon and the river are just stunning. The staff was friendly, polite and spoke excellent English. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, and we had a great view of the festivities the night of St. John’s Festival—where we watched the fireworks and lanterns from our balcony. It was a memorable stay!
I cannot say enough about this property. It was a highlight of our Portugal trip. The staff were all lovely, helpful and amazingly friendly. The rooms are lovely and linens divine...and make sure you get the almonds at the rooftop bar!
Staff very helpful and polite, would definitely stay there again. Excellent location. The view from the rooftop is amazing. The view from our room was also very nice. You have many good stores within walking distance.
Lovely boutique hotel. Great thought has gone into the design of the rooms and we were very comfortable. Fabulous breakfast and evening bar with fantastic view. Staff was efficient and welcoming. Great location.
Hotel was ideally located with well appointed rooms. Staff could not have been friendlier and helpful. Rooftop bar is an added plus. Easy walking distance to ms y of the restaurants and attractions in the area. Great experience overall and thrilled with our stay there.
Amazing service from checkin to the restaurant. Breakfast selection and food was great. Perfect location. Rooms had everything we needed. Rooftop was just average. We expected a little more luxe. Doormen were always welcoming and available to help.
The rooms were quite nice and the staff was excellent. We enjoyed the gym and the hotel restaurant and Bar. Beautiful views! The Concierge service was vey helpful! The downtown area is perfect to visit and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lisbon!
This place is not only perfectly located, but it is literally stylishly and beautifully appointed. After traveling to many hotels that lack originality and class, this is top notch! My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer. And the location is perfection!
We enjoyed our stay at this central hotel. Our room even with an upgrade was tiny, bathroom minuscule and no bath tub even though requested. The light switches and controls very confusing. Not much space to hang clothes but plenty of draws. The roof terrace bar excellent if you don’t have to queue for seats. Concierge service good but some staff short on English. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster but did improve because of an exceptional member of the trainee management team. We would still recommend this quirky hotel
I was absolutely thrilled with our stay in the Bairro Alto. Front desk staff was so very helpful -- got reservations for an evening we couldn't get on our own, made train reservations for us, answered multiple questions with graciousness. The room was lovely and comfortable. Location on the Praca is convenient to trolleys, and to a district full of shops and restaurants, including outstanding fado choices. The terrace connected to the restaurant is the most wonderful place imaginable to have breakfast or happy hour - both of which we enjoyed tremendously. The view over Lisbon to the river is fantastic at any time of day.
