Small hotel with kind but often unhelpful staff. Paid for a deluxe room but got a first floor with street light right in front of the window and bathroom so small you could not sit on the toilet without hitting the sink with your knee. There are better options available for the same price in the area.

Dear Manfredic, Thank you for reviewing your stay at our hotel. We are pleased to hear that you found our hotel's location convenient, being situated in the heart of Lisbon and close to many attractions and public transport options. However, we regret to hear that your experience with our accommodations did not meet your expectations. Our building's unique 250-year history does mean each room has its own distinct size and character and we are sorry if the room you received was not as comfortable as you had hoped. We take pride in our hotel's design, and although it is intended to create a certain atmosphere, we understand that it may not be to everyone's taste. We hope to welcome you back. Best wishes, Alfredo Tavares The Beautique Hotels T: +351 967 033 094 alfredo.tavares@thebeautiquehotels.com

This place is very very god, a great welcome and all was great from minute one. The hotel is centrally located in what must be said, is an absolutely fantastic city . There was so much to do and see in Lisbon and the location of the hotel complimented the logistics of the various attractions, with taxis and all the transport tours located just across the square. Hotel also had a great restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and was of an extremely high standard. We enjoyed our stay that much we will be going back to this fantastic hotel and city. Thank you to the guest services who were excellent.

We stayed at this hotel for a total of 5 nights - 2 nights, then a side trip to Porto then back to the hotel for 3 more nights. The hotel is in a great location, cool boutique vibe with a very good front staff and check in was easy. We spent a lot of time researching hotels so had very high expectations. On our first two nights, we were allocated a nice corner room overlooking the main square. BUT the bed was unlike any I have ever seen. As the bed was situated close to the side wall, there was a raised platform, accessed by two steps to get to one side of the bed. RIDICULOUS So when we checked out we insisted that upon our return, no way do we want that type of room again. Our second room was much better (except for the view). Breakfasts were plentiful but would have been nice to know that they would make us fresh eggs. Due to a major rainstorm one night we ate in the hotel and the food was delicious. One complaint was the night we just just wanted to sit at the bar to have a drink. As soon as we sat at the bar, we were approached by the host who advised us that we cannot stay as we were not planning to eat a meal! This was the hotel's lobby bar and we were hotel guests! Seriously? We immediately went to the front desk (or stand really) and complained to a very nice young man, and imagine, next thing we knew, were seated at a table. No apology from the host. By the way, there was already a large table of people there only drinking. Not a great way to end our time there. Loved Lisbon, not the hotel.

It's also gratifying to know that our front staff made your check-in process smooth and welcoming. We appreciate your kind words about the delicious food you enjoyed during the rainstorm. We understand that the unique design of the bed in your initial room was not to your preference, and we're glad that we could accommodate your request for a different room upon your return. Regarding the situation at the bar, we apologize for any misunderstanding and are pleased that our front desk team could promptly resolve the issue for you. We're always striving to provide exceptional service and memorable experiences, and your feedback is invaluable in that pursuit. We look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes,

A lovely hotel really well located in the centre of Lisbon, a short stop from Rossio metro. The rooms are comfy and the rooms that face onto the square have a wonderful view. Both the bar and restaurant are great quality. Maybe not the cheapest options in the area, but certainly worth it. The staff are lovely and welcoming and on hand to help. We did have one issue with our room which stopped this being a 5 star stay. in the rooms there are switches that are used to open the blinds and curtains and in our room they were not working. We booked the room so we could look over the square so this was a bit of an issue. We were immediately moved a level higher into another room but we still had issues with the blinds. The staff were brilliant through the whole thing and eventually they were able to fix the blinds into the open position which was fine for us. They even apologized with bottle of wine. If you are going to have mechanically operated blinds and curtains they really need to be able to work, especially for the cost of the room. It is the only thing that stopped this being a 5 star review. That being said, don't let our experience put you off, as everything else was perfect and this is certainly a hotel we would come back to.

We stayed in room 209 from October 8 - 11, 2023. As soon as we checked in, we were told their key card system was down, so we were not to given a room key, and there was no ETA for when we could expect to receive a key. This translated to us needing to be escorted to our room by front desk staff every time we returned to the hotel, even just to run out for a bottle of water or a bite to eat. We were understanding that the system was down, but the larger issue was the blatant lack of interest by the staff in updating us on the status of the key. We were never approached about a status update throughout our entire stay, rather, we had to ask and were met with dismissive, borderline irritated, attitudes by the members of staff. Upon arrival once we were let into our room by an employee, we immediately noticed one of the shower doors had completely fallen off and was broken, leaned against the interior wall of the shower. Does this mean there was no quality check of the room before we arrived? The secondary/conjoining shower door had already been replaced by a shower curtain, so it was clear they have ongoing issues that have not properly been addressed. We called the front desk to report the issue within minutes of arrival and waited for another hour without any word from the staff. We called again to check if anyone was coming to address the issue, and the staff member accused us of breaking the shower door ourselves, which was completely false and very rude. Finally, maintenance showed up after a long period of waiting, and they reattached the fallen door but the shower curtain remained to replace the other missing door, which ultimately meant every time we showered, there was water all over the bathroom floor. The shower curtain was covered in mold as were the joints and all interior grooves of the shower itself. Photo evidence attached. On our second day, we intended to use the Nespresso machine in our room, and immediately noticed the machine had mold all over the inside of the water container. This was clearly becoming a theme, and we didn't bother reporting it due to the less than savory interactions with the staff when reporting the other completely reasonable issues previously mentioned. Photos attached. We paid to stay in a 4-star hotel, not in a run down and poorly maintained hostel. The place seems really nice from the lobby, but if you have issues that need addressing within your room, do not hold your breath.

Regarding the key card system issue, we understand how frustrating it must have been for you. We assure you that our team was working diligently to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We apologize for any lack of communication and will take your feedback into account to improve our service in the future. Concerning the shower door and Nespresso machine, we apologize for the condition they were in upon your arrival. Our housekeeping team is usually very thorough, and we will address these issues with them to ensure that such situations do not occur again. We are also sorry for any misunderstanding or negative interaction you had with our staff. We strive to provide excellent service, and we will use your feedback to improve our team's performance. We would like to clarify that our hotel is housed in a 250-year-old building, which was last renovated in 2020. Our central position in Lisbon allows guests to easily explore the city and its main attractions. This is an excellent hotel situation in an excellent location, FIGUEIRA square. It has restaurants, shops and transport close by. The rooms are small, by very well furnished. The breakfast was the staff in the reception: Daniela, Raquel, Filipa and Isabel. These young ladies and very polite and go out of their way to be helpful. I can recommend this hotel very highly.

There is a lot to like about the hotel. It’s very pretty. Here is a pro con list and considering I spent just under $1kUSD for 5 nights I expected more. I can NOT speak on every room in the hotel- just mine (double superior) Pros - location location location. Near Rosario station. Across from Figueroa Square. Close to many sites shoppings and lots of places to eat. Breakfast was pretty good. It’s a very pretty hotel- and organize natural feel to the main floor design. lemon verbena scent everywhere (including the L’Occitaine products in the bathroom). Very pretty. The restaurant seemed popular for non hotel guests Easy check in process Very very Comfortable bed and pillows I love a robe and slippers Like the bottle of water and nespresso machine. Didn’t even realize until right now that the minibar was free I Like the window seat in room but since room was small I had to use it to hold my luggage to not take up any more floor space Cons Room dark. There isn’t good light anywhere - not even in the bathroom to do makeup. Not even in main room with the shades up bc the mirrors by the bed just reflect the dark (but pretty) wallpaper Outlet to charge phone is awkwardly placed so can’t be on phone and in bed at same time while charging. Unless you travel with an extra long charging cord or want to lie on your stomach Can only speak for my room but there is no toilet paper holder. The toilet paper is kept under the sink area … where normally extras rolls would be kept. Moved a roll over to sit on top of garbage can in order to next to toilet. Not sure why they can screw in a sanitary bag holder to the wall next to the toilet and not a toilet paper holder. This totally doesn’t make sense to me The hooks in the bathroom are too high. I am 5’4” and I couldn’t reach the hook to hang up my towel. There are two slightly lower hooks but I used one for hanging toiletry bag and one for robe. I had to jump to put wet towel on higher hook There is no towel hanger for hand towel. Since I have my own products on the side of the sink I had to put the hand towel in the sink or underneath with the toilet paper and clean bath towels. Need more convenient outlets for charging. Even the light switches on the side of the desk aren’t convenient when lying in bed as they are behind you. Since the mirrors in the main room don’t bring in light… they should replace with more and brighter lighting and outlets. It’s great that the shades and curtains are electronic but you have to get out of bed to use the shade button anyway. Lol. I don’t know. It’s a beautiful beautiful hotel in a great location and I don’t know if it was just a fluke of my room but the functionality was missing for the price.

This is a little gem of an hotel. The hotel is located right in the middle of the city. The , slightly quirky, bedrooms are very well equipped and kept spotlessly clean. There is a good size bar and a restaurant which has a wide range of choice. There is an outside terrace overlooking the square. Even a gym for those who require such a facility. Need I say more?

Wonderful stay at this very well positioned hotel. Very easy to find - arriving to Rossio underground station. The hotel smells wonderful upon arrival - reception is at the bar area. Lovely corner bedroom on a higher floor offering dual aspect windows with view over square and castle. The room is decorated with dark walls but is large and still has an airy feel. The bathroom had beautiful L’Occataine toiletries . We had a very peaceful sleep - the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast whilst in a small restaurant was varied and plentiful. I used the omelette bar too. Non-dairy milk available which is much appreciated. A big thank you to Nadja who was very welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful; offering advice regarding transportation and the local area. Would return and would definitely recommend . Many thanks
