We stayed at the hotel during July and found it very charming. Great location in the centre of the city, with many restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Our room was lovely with a view over the city roofs and a small window seat where you could sit and admire the view. The room was quite compact but had everything required - though the arrangement of the shower being open to the room area took a little getting used to. It is worth paying more for a larger room if you can - we did and it was a good decision. Service was excellent - the front desk booked us dinners, gave us loads of directions and recommendation, and helped us find an excellent guide. They really went out of their way to help and make our stay a lovely one. Recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in a lovely city.

We were SO incredibly fortunate to begin our 3 month European adventure in March 2022 at the Lisboa Carmo Hotel! The VIP ride from the airport with Alexandre, in the Tesla, and he was warm and welcoming as gave us a tour until he dropped us off. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. We spoke very little Portuguese at that time, and they were willing to both help us with the language, and speak to us in English when needed. The room was perfect. A double room (Family Suite) so we had an extra bed & bath for the nights we needed extra sleep due to jet lag. The breakfast? For 2 weeks we were spoiled. Fresh fruit like we had never tasted before. The mangos and papayas were out of this world. They said we can have whatever we want in the omelet, and when I asked for asparagus, the host apologized and then we saw him outside running across the street. He came back with fresh asparagus. There was a great variety and the coffee was delicious, too. What a treat! The location could not be better! Away from noise and crowds and close so much! The staff was helpful every step of the way! Our trip was off to a 5 STAR start. Our sincere thanks to the entire team!!

When arriving to the hotel we were disappointed. The lobby is very small especially to what I expect from a 4 star hotel. The carpets and walls seem old and much over dated . The rooms are renovated which makes things better they are in good size and pleasant . The bathroom is quite new and very nice although the sink is too small and the shower Handel needs to be held as the holder does not really do the job. The staff is very helpful and nice and the location is not less than excellent. Breakfast - disappointing: very limited choices and most of the food is served not even warm even the pancakes . The scrambled eggs are in a warming device which doesn’t do the job

We thoroughly enjoyed this incredibly quaint hotel in the old town area of Lisbon. At the bottom of a busy street it doesn’t look exotic from the outside but as soon as you enter you experience a sort of Alice in Wonderland with first class service, nicely appointed rooms and a wonderful breakfast to start your day. I can’t say enough about Andre, Rafael, Giselle and the rest of the staff who made us feel so special. And the VIP ride with Alexandre, in the Tesla was a wonderful way to conclude our fabulous stay in Lisbon.

The location was the best. Walking distance to both historic and cultural places. The rooms are clean, the bed mattress is comfortable and the bathroom has a very nice descent size. It has a rain shower and a bidet. My kids mentioned the restaurant food was good - but what really made the difference was having Giselle at the front desk, she was resourceful, amiable, and made things happen. Would recommend this hotel to any high expectations traveler anytime. There is a nice plaza in front of the hotel where you can eat, drink or have an early coffee with the famous Portuguese pastries.

I very rarely write a review regarding my stay somewhere, however, in this instance I feel I must. We had a number of mishaps and I’m going to share them. The first room we had had no hot water in the shower. None whatsoever. Upon advising the hotel desk, we were promptly moved to a room down the hall which did have hot water. It came with a tub, which the first did not have and which we prefer. Everything seemed to be going right, until we tried to use the bathtub. The tub fill did not work and only the shower worked. The hotel staff was unable to make it work either, and we were told it would be looked at the following day. It was not looked at the following day. We filled the tub with the shower head, which worked - but really, the shower head? Between the bathroom and the bedroom was a glass wall, with a blind partially closed. In order for privacy in the bathroom, the blind would normally be pulled down to close off the bathroom. The blind was stuck in the open position and would not lower (or raise). So much for privacy. The bathroom sink is another issue. Poorly designed, it causes water to be sprayed over the sink top, leaving puddles all over. When we returned to our room the following day after enjoying the city, around 3pm, the room had not been made up and there were no fresh towels. We called about receiving new towels, but needed to call twice to get any. I gave the hotel a rating of two, instead of one, because I found the front desk to be attentive to our needs, despite receiving only one hand towel at first. We then received two bath towels after requesting them from the maid staff. There may have been language difficulty there, which is understandable. I have not embellished or exaggerated our experience in this review.

Location - cannot be better from sightseeing standpoint . Walking distance to many sights in LISBOA Rooms - we were assigned to room 302- it was fairly spacious , elegant and comfortable. Everything in the room worked great - the wifi , the hot water in the showers , the expression machine . The view from the little balcony was great … Breakfast- very good , with great selection of pastries . The staff - very professional, very polite and friendly. We arrived at hotel about 10:45 am . Not surprisingly, our room wasn’t ready . When we mentioned that we would like to get some work done while waiting for our room , they kindly let us sit and work in their quiet spacious dining room and even offered us coffee and water . An hour later , the kind front desk staff informed us that our room was ready . Very very good service ,which was much appreciated. I can’t wait to stay at this hotel again …

The good sides: The Hotel was in the middle of the old town so you have many restaurants, bars, sightseeing places nearby. Super location! The personal is excellent, lovely and always ready for help and advice! The “bad” sides: The Hotel is for a 4 star hotel unfortunately not compatible, i would rate it in my experience for a 3 star hotel. Reason: Always the same breakfast and a low variation of offer. The rooms are really small (but that’s okey bc it’s middle in the city). The bathtub had a leaking spot so every time you took a shower, the floor got extremely wet. The bathroom sink was uncomfortable to use, you’ll get wet whenever you wash your hands or face. The Phone in the room was broken. And the Rooms are really dark. But all in all in my opinion the price is a bit too high… maybe because its in the Center.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in Lisbon and cannot say enough about how wonderful the it is - great, friendly, and very helpful staff. They were always giving us directions and recommendations. The breakfast was nice; and also the room was very quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would definitely return in the future. I would, however, avoid their restaurant for dinner. We thought it would be nice to sit out in the lovely square just catty-corner to the hotel. In all honesty, I have to report that it was the worst piece of fish I have ever had the displeasure of tasting in my life. It was supposed to be a cod with a cornbread baked topping. I think it was cornbread on the top, but it was so overcooked (burnt), I don't really know. I sort of scraped it off and just decided to go for the fish. I cut off a piece of the end, and it was so salty, my husband thought maybe they had forgotten to mention it was salted cod. But, then, no, the middle was sort of seasoned appropriately. (My husband thought they sort of just over salted it so much, but that the middle was able to absorb some of that salt.) Anyway, it didn't matter because after I had picked the eighth bone of my fillet, I sort of just gave up. The server was nice enough to comp. my meal, but still... So, conclusion - a big YES on the hotel, and a big NO on the restaurant.

Dear "Girlonvacation75", thank you for your preference and for sharing your review. We are thrilled to learn you enjoyed your stay and are considering to come back. We work daily to provide excellent experiences to our guests and it is very motivating to receive comments such as these. We are sorry to read your experience at the restaurant was not in accordance with your expectations. In Portugal, codfish is traditionally salted as a mean of preservation and has a very particular taste to it. We shared your impressions with our kitchen that will follow up on them. The whole team is looking forward to welcome you back! Warm regards, João Sobral Assistant hotel manager

We stayed here for four nights at the end of May. We had a junior suite, one room had twin beds (one was a trundle) with an outdoor sitting area off of it. The main room had a very large comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. The location of the hotel is perfect. There are lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance. Shout out to the staff as they were very helpful. I would stay here again.
