I cannot reccomend this place enough - I only read after booking that this hotel has a 'love theme' and panicked a bit as a female solo traveller. The staff reassured me that it is just a regular hotel (and, it is, if that's what you want) and so I decided to go ahead.
Firstly, absolutely SPOTLESSLY clean. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The decor is gorgeous and the location is handy for intendente - on the Verde line, which I found perfect for sightseeing.
The bed was perfect for me - feathery pillows and duvet and good linen. Room amenities were great - lovely espresso machine and fridge.
Although my room overlooked the jaccuzi area it was quiet enough to sleep after insanely long days sightseeing.
But the real thing here was the gesture the staff made - I was travelling alone for my birthday - every staff member wished me happy birthday when they saw me, and when I returned home after a 12 hour day trudging about... They'd put a little chocolate cake and card in my room.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat - thankyou so much all at Upon Angels!

We’ve travelled many places in Europe over the past few years, but this was our first time in Lisbon. It most definitely won’t be the last…and a bit of that is certainly due to our stay at Upon Angels. The location is ideal for the metro, Route 28 trolley, or just a leisurely walk into the heart of town. The hotel itself is an absolutely fun, quirky, elegant work of art…the attention to detail (even in the stairwell) just made us smile every day! But by far, the best part of Upon Angels was the staff. Not only were they always smiling, kind, and attentive…on one of our first mornings, they found out it was my wife’s birthday, and by the time we came back that evening, they left a lovely note and decadent chocolate cake in our room! That thoughtfulness totally made my wife’s day even more special, and we could not be happier than to leave a rave review!

I travel I like to book small boutique, hotels that offer a quiet relaxing environment. Upon angels provided just that leaving busy streets you enter a small inn and immediately feel relaxed.
Staff are extremely friendly and other than the lobby and small bistro. You will hardly see another person. Your room will be well appointed with great colours and pops of art. Your bathroom will be clean and you’ll have everything you need to relax and enjoy your time in Lisbon . The location is perfect for wandering the city.

It's an 'adult' hotel, and I'm not entirely sure why. Yes, there's a nude female motife on the carpet, and a neon pair of gams on the wall, but, nothing particularly salacious. The room was cozy and comfortable. The location was great, on a side street in Intendente near a Brew pub and across from an amazing restaurant-- That I had no idea was Vegan, but was still delicious! I'd stay here again. The room itself was good size, with a kettle and a little hob if you want to fix something for yourself, but they didn’t provide any pots/ pans, hence useless. Not all of the lights working and that made the room look dingy. The fittings of the shower were falling off upon use . They advertised a pool but it was actually a large jacuzzi. I think for £105 / night they could have done it better. The most lovely part of the stay was the staff who were very helpful and pleasant . Gabriella, Bruna Cordero and Hiago de SA’ were so wonderful and arranged the tours of Sintra, Cascais and around lisbon for us.

Funky decor was refreshing after staying in soooooo many cookie cutter decorated hotels that all look and feel the same as the next one. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and quite. The staff at the front desk was freindly and helpful. The bartenders, Xavier & Catalina, were excellent. The hotel is a little off the tourist path - but that's what made it even better. And, although it was a little out of the way it was very near plenty of public transportation (Metro & bus/tram routes).
