I was hesitating a bit to book this hotel since there are some 'negative' reviews , therefore I got a very good price and we decided to stay near the touristics places. Based on the price I paid, I am very satisfied for what they offered. Definitely, it's not a 3 or 4 star hotel but a better option than... More

Spent one night here and was eager to leave. We arrived late having had a delayed journey. Despite requesting a twin room with a follow up phone call we were given a tiny double on the top floor. I complained that a father does not want to share a small double bed with his 16 year old daughter but was... More

The hotel looks NOTHING like it does online. What an ordeal! We reach the hotel at 730pm local time. The lobby looked rundown and tiny. It had a backpacker hostel feel - very surprising for the amount we paid. The lady at the counter started off by telling us that the room doesn't look like what it was online and... More

I had read reviews which said stay in the new part, so I emailed requesting a new room 2 months before we got there. Arrived and told room in old part, no other rooms available. The receptionist on in the evening was rude and would not even try and understand why I was a bit annoyed. The room itself was... More

Mixed reviews had me a bit worried, but I made sure to request one of the renovated rooms, as suggested by previous travelers, and i must say I was very happy throughout my entire stay. Room size was adequate, nice view of a cute cobbled street, AC in room and a flat screen TV with many English channels. Toilet and... More

We have stayed in the hotel for five nights in April. I looked forward to this trip and I thought that the rooms are maybe similar to the ones in the photos. Boy I was wrong. We got the room in the old part of the hotel. The room was sooo tiny that we could barely put our bags in... More

Hotel is very easy to find in a good location. Metro station is less than 2 minutes walk away and you can quite easily walk to a number of attractions. Be warned the hotel is split into two parts. One side are the rooms that have been done up to a nice standard and photographed for the site and booking... More

Thank you very much guys from reception, very easy to find, very central, beautiful area, ahhh... Andre from reception he was very attentive and helpful, the only problem in the hotel was, doesn't have double glass windows, usually during the night I heard drunk people on the street, but apart of that no complains about it! I can recommend it...

The hotel was in the very center of the city, location is the best. The girl on the reception was a bit weird in a sense that she couldn't advise us any good restaurants, but we managed. The room was good and clean, however I don´t get why they put it´s 30 m2 in Booking, cause it´s not more then... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
