Nice guesthouse is right in the heart of Lisbon. It looks exactly like shown on the photos from the management, so there were no surprises. The guesthouse has very different rooms for the guests: actually every room is different regarding its space, quality of the room, design, availability of toilet and shower etc. So when you book the room please... This hotel may be in the best location in Lisbon! On praca de figueiras, one of two main plazas in central Lisbon. 90% of Lisbon's to-do list can be found within a 5 km radius, and everything else is very easily reachable, as the plaza is a main bus station (both tourist and regular buses), and there is a green... It was a perfectly located hotel at walking distance to many touristic attractions. The breakfast was quite nice and overall a great value for the money. One not ideal issue of our room is that there was no toilet in it (there was a sink and shower). Also, the shower handle was broken, making showering tricky. We didn't complain to... More

The location is really great. You'll find two metro stations very close. Although there's not much people in the area at night, it's safe to walk anytime you go or come. In summer I would search another place. There is no air conditioner and it's tough in summer. The stairs are also a challenge for those who travel with too... More

This place is definitely recommendable, specially for its price. The rooms are quite nice and comfy, and include a TV with a lot of channels and good beds. The bathrooms are clean and come with most of the things you might need. It does include a sort of dinning room with a fridge, a microwave, and a heater, perfect for... More

We recently stayed at this property during a visit to Lisbon and found it to be a good option for those seeking budget-friendly places in the the city centre. Reservation was made via booking.com, payment was made prior to arrival. Check-in was timely and luggage storage available prior to rooms being available. Front desk staff were friendly during each of... More

Spend three nights in a wonderful guest house. Staff were courteous, very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, good showering facilities. Breakfast was plentiful and always replenished when running low. Location was ideal for exploring the city sights.

Me and my family needed a place where we could stay over one night so we could leave the next morning and get to the airport. The hostel is located right in the center of Lisbon and it's very practical to take the metro, taxi, or tour guide. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also good.... More

Great location. We got taxi from airport and driver helped us find the entrance... We were on the 3rd floor for 3 nights... directly opposite a WC. Like other reviewers I skimped on the small print and didn't realise the loo was shared.... it worked out very well once I was over the shock!!..... our room had a shower and... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
