One of the best hotels we've stayed in, with some of the friendliest employees we have ever encountered. Cristina and David were two of the most amiable and helpful Front of House staff members we could have wished for; always cheerful and often going out of their way to help us. Nelson and Rachel were also polite and efficient on the reception and our house-made Annabel kept our bedroom spotlessly clean and tidy. Situated almost directly in front of Rossio Square, the hotel has an immaculately restored traditional Portuguese façade with an ultra modern interior and is ideally situated a 5 minute walk away from the train station. This proved ideal for day trips to beautifully picturesque Sintra and the beach at Cascais. A luxurious King Size bed in a spacious, super efficiently air conditioned bedroom ensured a refreshing refuge from the hotter July temperatures and a very good night's sleep. A big thank you to Christina and David once again.…
We were so happy with the location, so near the Rossio train station, pedestrian streets and the river. We like walking and found most of the sites within walking distance. The desk staff and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet selection with a choice of crepes or omelets if you want it made. The room was very clean but small. We had a hard time with 2 pieces of regular sized luggage. And it's been posted before about the washroom. You really have to be comfortable with who you are traveling with! The sliding door is opaque and didn't quite close, leaving a small gap. If it was a larger room, it may not make too much of a difference for bathroom privacy.
The staff at this establishment went above and beyond my expectations. My friend wasn’t feeling well and everyone at the hotel was super helpful to guide me to an international pharmacy and even assist me with the language barrier. Luis, Raquel , Rita, Fabio and pretty much anyone there was always friendly. They helped coordinate tours, print train tickets, and much more. As for the hotel and rooms, comparing to the other European establishments this hotel offered spacious rooms and the king sized bed was comfortable. The location was convenient to all the attractions near by! Overall, very good experience!!
This hotel is very nice, rooms are a bit small but great for the price. The staff is really helpful and speak English well. Delicious breakfast was included in our deal. Great location in center of Lisbon. Will certainly go back when I go back to Portugal.
We spent 4 nights in this hotel, and we were treated the best possible way. The staff was very helpful on various occasions: providing directions, giving helpful advice, and even offering a much-needed band-aid at the hour when all pharmacies were already closed (thank you, Christina!). Our room was on the smaller side, but very clean and quiet. Mattresses were firm and comfy. The excellent breakfasts downstairs and the beautiful view of Rossio Square from the breakfast area were very attractive features for us. Overall, the International Design Hotel had an excellent location and was very close to all major attractions of Lisbon. The only negative comment I have, is regarding the leaking faucets in the bathroom (room 314). It was almost impossible to turn the faucets off. It seems that the shower and sink systems are asking for an upgrade. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable stay, and we would recommend this hotel to Lisbon visitors.…
My friends and i arrived at this hotel on the 7th may and we really had first class service from the managing director and all the staff throughout our stay. The location is perfect right in the city center , rooms are serviced every day and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The restaurant staff at breakfast were excellent and constantly making sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for beautiful accommodation in a great location look no further than the Internacional design hotel. Thanks to Lois, Cristina and all the staff. John
The location is excellent, its right on Rossio square and close to everything, there is also a really nice restaurant in the ground floor if you don't feel like moving around. The first night was quite noisy, I could hear the guests in the next room. The next morning I asked the staff if I could get a quieter room, they were very obliging and the found a quieter room for the remainder of my staff and moved my things. I would recommend this hotel. Thanks
Loved this little hotel right in the centre of the city. Great location and within walking distance to practically anywhere! Harbour is 5 min away, so are restaurants , bars and shops. Decor is super stylish and so was our bedroom! Clean with urban decor. Staff was super friendly and so helpful with regards to places to visit and food recommendations. I would 100% stay there again next time in Lisbon.
Very well located hotel with good breakfast. Sort walk from metro. Helpful staff. Couldn’t get into room until 3 pm - hard after travel from USA. Windows very thin and noise from street bothered us at night. Perhaps a higher floor room would have been better.
Our first trip to Lisbon and chose this property primarily for the location and it was terrific. Easy walk from the train station and access to trams/metro/buses. The exterior fits very well into the architecture of the Rossio/Baixa area of the city, but the rooms and lounge area are comfortably contemporary. The staff were very helpful making an early check-in available and the breakfast provided so many choices. Would not hesitate to stay again!
