The temp was 35c degree in 2nd week of August 16. I had booked 2 rooms, there was no fan in one room when checking in. Very hardly managed to get a fan by a lady staff. The fan's 2 pin cord broke in third night due to bad electric socket, and no replacement fan was provided. Guess how we...

1. I had to spend the first out of 5 nights in a hotel nearby (although I had booked by booking.com before). This hotel was old, the room sticky, the bath room dirty and the fittings partly broken. At least it had an air condition. 2. The room at Beira Minho hasn't had one, what was double hard, since the...

This hostel is simple but in a great location. Very close to all atractions. Pillows are huge and not so comfortable. we were unlucky as it was raining and it rained trough ceiling to our room and bathroom. Staff was apologetic and gave us towels to dry the water....if it wasn't for the rain incident I would give them higher...

This pensao is situated in the beautiful Praça da figueira, just near the exit of Rossio metro station. It's on the 2nd floor of a nice building, very easy to find. The staff was kind and friendly, they even carried my luggage into our room. The view from the room is amazing, you can see the castle and the square....

I stayed here with my husband, he fell in one of the streets and had a hip replacement. This Little pension was so kind to move me to another room without the commodities but comfortable and clean for only 25 euros daily FOR the rest of the month and every day they ask how he was. Isabella one of the...

I agree with KYT of Singapore - great location right by the Rossio metro, in centre but fairly quiet square near the castle. Most rooms look out on the square and it was cheap and clean. TV, WiFi and ensuite but no other facilities. Friendly staff. Beds a bit hard.

I couldn't check in on the day I booked due to delayed flight. I tried calling the staff to inform them but nobody answered. Luckily they responded to email and when I checked in, they charged according to the number of nights I stayed. The location is fantastic, within walking distance to Rossio metro station, bus stop to and fro...

The main advantages are a very good location and very good price. Hotel is in the centre of Lisboa, just near the subway station (Rossio). Very forthcoming stuff. I really fall in love with this residence and thankfull to my friend had recommended it.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
