As mentioned in the title, the Hotel is pretty average. It looks and it is quite old. You can notice this from the look of the carpets, the walls and the general maintenance needed. The staff at the Reception is nice. However, when you come back late in the night you will find the door locked from inside and more than once I found myself knocking and buzzing outside for quite a while until someone would have opened. The housekeeping does a good job in keeping everything tidy and clean. Breakfast was below average, quite similar to the one you could find in a hostel. Location is also an issue. Yes, they do have an amazing view, but it requires trekking training as the street to reach the Hotel is so steep it makes you regret not being able to fly! Very inconvenient if you are carrying luggage and no bus nor underground is close. I had to take a taxi most of the time when going out and coming back. The hotel is located a good 15/20 minuted drive from the centre.…
I was about to give this hotel a much higher rating for the view & room, until I had to deal with "Antonio" at the front desk this evening. I went down to ask for more toilet paper, soap, & clean towels because they had not been replenished adequately while I was out, to which "Antonio" responded in a very irritated & exasperated manner that they only restock room items every 3 days (it had been 4 days) & that I "was not normal" for needing more supplies. I had to beg for what I needed & be subjected to his berating judgment & criticism!!! It was an extremely inappropriate way to respond to a guest politely making a reasonable request. Plus, he kept delaying the elevator so he could continue to yell insults at me, at which point I became concerned that he might use other measures to try to keep intimidating me. This older (60s - 70s?) man was demonstrating extremely bizarre behavior. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless you want to risk being verbally attacked for requesting toilet paper & soap! If this place wants to stay in business, it needs to not allow this guy to interact with the guests.…
This is a no-frills, comfortable, and impeccably clean hotel in the picturesque Graça neighborhood. It is located a few steps from the Senhora do Monte mirador, which has dazzling views of the city (and lots of tourists). I stayed in a quiet room towards the back of the building with a magnificent view of the old town. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but covers all the basics, and the breakfast room has marvelous views too. The staff is very friendly and eager to help. Highly recommended.
We arrived about 10 p.m. so reception was calm, service fast but perfunctory. Happy with our immaculately clean room and stunning views of the city from our small balcony. Slept well through the night. Breakfast was ok, high in carbs, could be improved with eggs (may have to pay extra for that not sure). When asked, front desk helpful with airport transfer follow-up and ordered taxi for us coz company we booked failed. Overall value is great and will stay here again!
I had chosen this hotel due to its high rating of location in booking. com, but I think it is in a bad locatin despite you are a climber! It is not close to a metro or train station and each time you come back to hotel you have to climb for at least 20 minutes. In addition coming back at nights it seemed scary because the neighbourhood is dark and quiet. As a result in my opinion walking with luggage is impossible. Breakfast was the most limited one I have ever seen and even there was not eggs in breakfast. Except for the location and breakfast all other things was satisfying. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room and houskeeping were fantastic. Room was very clean and spacious with safe box and lots of closets and a marvellous view. Some of the rooms had balcony but unfortunately mine didn't. Bathroom had a bathtub. There was not free bottle of water and tea maker available. …
