Getting there
Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I had a delightful stay at Olissippo Marquês de Sá from 9 to 14 September, on a holiday to get know beautiful Lisbon. It is located in a quiet and pleasant part of the city, about half way between the historic centre and the airport. There is an underground train station (metro) about three hundred metres from the hotel; nearer still is the Gulbenkian Museum, with its wonderful collections and beautiful tranquil gardens.
I had a very quiet room on the sixth floor, overlooking the courtyard. Everything was clean, neat and fully functioning - including the air conditioning system, the gentle sound of which, combined with double glazing, made the noise of passing aeroplanes hardly noticeable.
The breakfasts were lavish. Enjoyment of them is enhanced if one arrives at about nine o'clock. Earlier than that, the breakfast rooms tend to be somewhat crowded as the hotel caters for bus tour groups who commence their peregrinations at an earlier hour.
The staff are friendly, efficient and unfailingly helpful.
I heartily recommend the place. Indeed, should I visit Lisbon again I would stay there in preference to hotels nearer the historic and often crowded centre.

We had already been here about 1 year ago. We came back, simply because the first experience was good and we liked everything. This time the experience was slightly different. We were served friendly, but the check-in time took a long time, which is not understandable, the people who were before us took a long time. If it is something that can go beyond the Hotel's direct responsibility, it is also no less true that today, with the amount of existing technology, check-in at a hotel should be "almost" automatic and immediate! Then, for us, the negative and somewhat unacceptable aspect was that the hotel's facade was being renovated and the assigned room was covered by scaffolding, with workers at our window, removing all our privacy. It is also unacceptable that this fact was not mentioned to us, either before, during or after our stay. Sometimes it also suffered from small service details in terms of service and cleanliness. Due to this evidence, a place not to be repeated, we even suggest that you avoid it, with the prices charged, we cannot accept this type of attitude lightly. It is our intention to present this situation, which we consider shameful, on the Complaint Portal.

We stayed in apto 806, quiet, no airplanes or noise from the street, although sometimes, voices from neighboring rooms, yes; complete breakfast, great reception, clean and soft bedding, subway station near the hotel. I felt a shortage of a shampoo holder inside the box, and the bath gel quality was not good. A very busy hotel with excursion groups, which nothing interferes with your stay. The fridge bar wasn't freezing properly.

We stayed at this hotel and part of a package tour. The hotel was close to most amenities and the airport. We did encounter some pros and cons
The hotel is very sleek and modern, however, the lobby floors and very slippery. As a result my husband took a very nasty fall face first and required several stitches. I must admit the hotel staff were amazing at attending to his immediate needs and quick to provide first aid. Any of the staff we did have to encounter were all very friendly and courteous.
The buffet food was adequate although I have eaten better. The breakfast buffet was pleasant, however the dinner/supper buffet was over priced for so-so food.
The rooms are adequate. It seems like they opted for the minimalistic decor rather than practical and comfort. The bathroom floors and shower surface are deadly slippery. There was no rubber shower mat so we ended up using a towel on the shower floor to prevent another fall. There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang your nightgown or bathrobe. They do not supply tissue (eg. Kleenex) which I haven't experienced in any hotel I've been in for years. There are no shelves to place your shaving kit or makeup bags. There was an European outlet in the bathrooms which was nice for my hair curler. There is no coffee maker in the room, and you must pay for anything you remove from the fridge.
The bed were unbelievably uncomfortable. Two child size twin beds pushed together with rubber/plastic mattress pads.
I wouldn't rule this hotel out entirely, but if I ever came back to Lisbon, I probably would book elsewhere.

We stayed the first two nights of our tour and the evening before departure. The location is convenient for those who like to travel even in the evening due to its proximity to the metro. Free concerts were held in the park near the hotel.
Excellent buffet breakfast with local desserts and lots of fruit. Excellent buffet dinner with many fish and meat dishes. In the area there are many places to eat and drink local tastings on cool summer evenings.
The room was comfortable. The friendly staff. My experience was positive.

My wife and I were here on a Gate1 tour, starting in Porto and finishing in Lisbon, where we stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them. Room was large enough for both of us to feel comfortable, outlets where I could plug in recharging batteries, as well as plug in my laptop to work while sitting up in bed. Couple short-comings, in my opinion: No water heater for tea/coffee, telephone seems awkward to use and no directory. (How do I get a Wakeup call? - fortunately, I didn't need one) Breakfast buffet was the normal hotel type of buffets, which - unfortunately after 10 days, they all seem the same! Cappuccino tasted good. Staff was helpful. On our last day, no problems in checking our luggage with the staff, nor retrieving them later for a ... ride to airport at 1 am! Also, we were able to use the various lounges, sit with my laptop plugged in, while relaxing for about 6 hours before airport ride.

We booked 2 nights at this hotel for 3 couples, as it is a 4**** hotel, a hotel well located in the center of Lisbon, in a quiet area at night. Since we checked in, everything went well with the staff, friendly, attentive and helpful; the breakfast included in the stay was very varied and good, 2 good dining rooms, a bar space is good and pleasant. Now room 705 was spacious, basic furniture, bedside tables with wear and tear, beds that were not very comfortable, 1 mini-bar (I didn't use it), 1 desk and 1 chair, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower (the wall-mounted one) ,someone has hung on and is being pulled down). In summary: the negative was the room, for 4****, it was too basic, at room level 2**, the other services are equivalent to 4****.

Cannot fault this hotel - every single member of staff from reception, serving, front of house, and bar were incredible and on top of everything.
We moved rooms from a twin to a double and they moved all our stuff over whilst we were out no problem (we expected we'd have to move it ourselves so hadn't gathered it together so that must have been a bit of a feat!)
Great breakfast selection consistently restocked by staff and same for evening meals (we visited twice and had buffet selections as several large tour parties were also visiting whilst we were there) so very good value for money to have a 3 course buffet meal for just under €20 pp, drinks are not included as a heads up to others but are reasonably priced.
Fresh towels and bed made every day whilst out, full aircon (needed!) and nicely decorated room with plenty of storage. Only feedback is in both rooms the glass for the shower part of the bath didn't fully stop water from reaching the floor so we had to mop it up with bathmat and extra hand towel given as it was rather flooded and then slippery on the tiles in both.
10/10 would visit again and recommend if going to Lisbon - we had no issues accessing transport links either (the 742 bus and Azul metro line we used several times both have stops within 5 minutes of the hotel).

Hotel close enough to the center of Lisbon but super convenient to the metro allowing you to quickly move throughout Lisbon and beyond. Normal, clean rooms, average breakfast. Paid parking is available but keep in mind that it is underground and is really narrow!

Good location very close to Sao Sebastioa Metro Station which provides quick access to all the major areas of the City. Large shopping mall and restaurants close by. Very nice comfortable bar, lounge area with tap beer. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Room spacious and clean with mini fridge and safe. Wifi is excellent with great speed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower had good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast is good. Blackout curtains in room. Just a couple of frustrating little things that prevented a 5 rating for me. The complete lack of accessible power points for charging. The only one available was just above the floor, just inside the door. Another curious one was the lack of 'soap dish' in the shower. There is no soap or shampoo in the shower only individually wrapped ones on the sink, which is great, but there is nowhere in the shower to put the soap. The bed was 2 singles put together for a double/queen, which is common, but were individually made as 2 separate beds, which I have never seen before. Just a couple of minor, yet frustrating points. Everything else was great.

Good Afternoon,
Thank for your preference.
Regarding the question, I would like to inform that the distance betwin Hotel Olissippo Marques de Sa and the railstation of Entrecampos is about 1.3Km (more a less 11 minutes walking distance).
You are also able to come by metro if you would like (only 3 stops).
Don't hesitate to contact us if you need more information.

Hi Danny
This hotel is in the area they call Avenidas Novas, the new streets. It's almost next to the Gulbankian gardens and very close to a metro stop for access back into city. Lisbon is full of sights but generally those of the old city cathedral, graca, baixa,Se, basilica etc and the older museums tend to be in the old part of town which is more charming.
The reality in Lisbon is that wherever you stay you will travel for many sights as they are so spread out.
The hotel is ok, its modern functional and everything works, staff are friendly. Lisbon is an emotional city vibrant and historic and that vibe isn't particularly reflected in the hotel.
As for restaurants there are a number in the area but I can't comment on them as we were traveling around a lot and I don't think we actually went to any close to the hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the Lisbon area.
