My husband and I stayed for two nights here. The views from our room and the hotel roof bar were stunning. You can't get a better view of the city. Gustav shucked us fresh, local oysters every evening as we watched sunset. He and the rest of the staff were so professional and helpful. The rooms were clean and the... More

This hotel is walking distance from most all the major sights in Lisbon. We were even able to take two public elevators to the Castilo. All the shopping and restaurants and bars are in the neighborhood. The roof top bar has a view that is breathtaking. The breakfast is wonderful. Great stay!

This hotel is in the heart of the Chiado district, restaurants and bars from upmarket to hole in the wall all just steps away. We chose places at random and had excellent food, drink and fun live music, Not inexpensive but large comfortable rooms, worth getting the breakfast deal, and the staff were very helpful.

A perfect stay in central Lisbon! We enjoyed a room with terrace and great view over Lisbon and castle St Jorge. From the hotel you have walking distance to all important sights and restaurants in the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar offers a unique view and atmosphere. The only thing to comment is that... More

Another excellent view point from Chiado, the vantage point opposite Castelo Sao George. Enjoy the morning coffee or afternoon cocktails with an amazing view of the city, the service is prompt and friendly. Had a meeting in the morning, the perfect set up for a sales meeting. Though it is a nice set up for a romantic date as well,... More

Lovely hotel with clean rooms. The rooms are very nice, the bathroom and toilet are very clean. Great vieuws and a good location and safe. No noise at night!!!. Dont eat a la carte in the restaurant, it was dissapointing and it took a long time between the apero & coffee. All the rest is very good.

This was our second visit to this hotel in two years which speaks to how pleased we were with our first. Spacious, well equipped clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Great location! Our only disappointment was with the very limited vegan food options for breakfast. The hot buffet consistently contained three veggie options last year, and soy milk... More

We couldn't be happier. The room is beautiful and large. The large breakfast buffet is only 12 euros so you can skip lunch. Right above metro. Shopping! Museums within walking distance. Easy access to "On/Off" busses which will this large hills and cobblestone streets is the best way to get around. Surrounded by cafes. Spend a little more and get... More

My husband and I loved this Hotel. It's located in the very safe and fun area of Chiado, surrounded by great shopping, restaurants and bars. We walked everywhere, both day and night. We payed a bit more for a Terrace Room and we were so pleased that we did. It was located on the very top floor across from the... More

My husband and I visited Lisbon in August 2016 and 4 nights at this hotel. The hotel is very well located. The rooms were large and comfortable, the breakfast is more than enough to keep you satisfied and the views from the bar and the breakfast room are wonderful. Beautiful roof top views look straight to the castle or right... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

Hotel do Chiado is located in Chiado / Baixa, Lisbon's historic district, near Bairro Alto, Rossio Square and Avenida da Liberdade. Hotel do Chiado was built in the historic building of Armazéns do Chiado, nowadays a shopping center, which was completely restored by the famous architect Siza Vieira after the tragic fire of 1988. Located in Chiado, the trendiest, elegant and chic meeting point of Lisbon, this is the only hotel in town that offers rooms with private terraces and panoramic views of the Castle and the TagusRiver. The subway station Baixa-Chiado is located beneath the building and you can easily find taxi service side by side with the hotel. ... more   less
