This wag a very good experience, living in an old fashioned hotel (in a good way). Quite old hotel, but kept in a good shape. The best thing is that you are treated as the luxury hotels used to be: they really try to make you feel good, from the reception to the cleaning personnel. The location is not downtown, but easy to reach the old city: walking to the main boulevard is maybe 10-15 minutes. Cabs are very cheap (6-7 euro to the old city). Good public transportation. Rooms are big ad classy:) they have a nice restaurant and bar and a small swimming pool. The only less attractive thing was a smell felt in some rooms-not necessarily a bad one but a powerful one-some kind of cleaning product? Overall, very good choice to enjoy Lisbon.
I come often to Lisbon and always stay at Dom Pedro Hotel for different reasons . Location is great, rooms are big and very comfortable with all the amenities you need . What I like the most are the views from the bedrooms and the breakfast. In terms of service, the staff are always looking after you, listening actively to your requests and always provide the best service with a smile. Extremely clean.
We had booked the Corinthia Hotel and were given only a few hours notice that we had been moved to the Dom Pedro. The hotel was very comfortable with impressive decor. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious. The only problem is that the hotel is located in a commercial area and does not have any outside space. We had selected the Corinthia because we knew it had plenty of outdoor areas. The only thing we found to be strange was that the hotel actually charged for milk for the tea and coffee provided in the room We have never experienced this before.
We stayed here the night before we left Portugal so we would be closer to the airport the next day. We were a group of 9 and had two sets of adjoining rooms. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very kind. The only downside was the restaurant. We checked in around 9:30pm and we were told we could order from the restaurant even though they were closing at 10pm. We ordered and waited an hour for food and then they forgot my daughters meal so we waited another 30 minutes for that meal. It was very expensive for the food we received. Maybe it was because it was so late but we were the only people in the restaurant. I would recommend the hotel but not the restaurant area.
We stayed for one week, we loved everything.excellent staff, wonderful welcome, beautiful views, and lovely food.Great location and brilliant for shopping.Kids loved the pool and I got a massage in the spa, best one ever.can’t wait to go back.
Honestly, one of the best hotel we've stayed at. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was lovely, the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and hamam were clean and definitely enhanced our experience.
My stay here was poor. On checkout, they charged me €100 too much and only when I checked the invoice did i notice this. When I told them, they told me there had been a system issue causing the mistake and that I would get the amount refunded within 1-2 days. It has now been nearly 3 weeks and nothing. Emails chasing this are not replied to for several days and when they are they just say that its in progress. I have no faith this will be refunded. What refund needs 3 weeks to process! This was completely their error and they are making no efforts to fix. The hotel itself was disappointing. The air conditioning does not keep the room cool. The gym is tiny and only had one weight machine which was unsurprisingly out of order for the whole stay. They only give you coffee pods for your first night (why not the other nights, its not like you get cheaper rates when you stay for more than 1 day!).…
The hotel is really well appointed and staff are 5 star. Couple things let us down. The AC in the room was the weakest out of all 25 hotels we had stayed at in Portugal. Made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. We ordered snacks at the lobby bar and they were delivered frozen in the center. This should not happen at a 5 star hotel. Other than that we would recommend this hotel.
Excellent customer service. Beautiful hotel with bathrobes, slippers and toothbrush provided which is pretty rare in Spain. The breakfast had tons of variety and great tasting as well, in fact although a buffet and self serving. They served the drinks to you with table service as well.
This was a first for a few reasons. First time I had to change rooms because the windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them. First time, EVER, no matter the hotel rating, that coffee was not replaced daily. We were given two reg/two decaf pods upon check-in and if you want them replaced, you had to buy them. This is a supposed 5-star hotel that won't give you 2 damn pods of coffee in the morning? I would have settled for one. You're hot in your room? Impossible to turn the a/c to a comfortable level. Can't hear the volume on the tv, too bad- wasn't adjustable. The shower head faced the wall (broken) so we had to squeeze ourselves half-way between the stream and the wall. Wifi was awful to spotty. The kicker- my boyfriend and I, on two separate nights, ordered the cheese plate from room service: stale crackers and old cheese. It was gross- both times! The chemicals in the spa were so strong our throats were burning. Wet sauna didn't work. WARNING: hidden charge that was never disclosed- every time the doorman hails a cab for you, they charge your room. Even after tipping well each time, none of them told us they were also charging our room. This may have been a nice hotel at some point, but now it is just a nickel and dime, dirty hotel. Would never stay in that chain of hotels again. (The man who checked us in said that they have been trying to get their windows washed for months...)…
