The only surviving original Art Deco hotel in Lisbon, with a touch of modern whimsical nuances, this small hotel is unique. Dating from 1944 and designed by the famous Portuguese modernist architect Cassiano Branco, it retains its original soul. Meticulously recuperated , it was combined with nowadays technologies in order to offer all actual comfort. The Hotel Britania is perfectly located in a quiet street just off the exclusive Avenida da Liberdade.

Fantastic trip to Lisbon including great stay at Britania. Hotel was beautiful art deco style. Staff were welcoming and really helpful. Rooms has good facilities, generous size, good quality new furnishing and exceptionally clean. Continental breakfast was good quality including local specialites such as patel del nata and fish, fresh juice, served to table by polite and attentive staff. Tea and coffee served in bar free of charge and port in addition to usual in room supplies were nice touches. No restaurant but no issue. Positioned in street behind main avenue so very quiet but upmarket area, and easy walking to all Lisbon sites. Booked direct by phone to get best rate.

Hotel's Favorite
We had such a nice stay here. It's a great location on a quiet street. The boulevard behind the hotel has high-end shopping (if you are in to that - we weren't) and the other parallel street has some nice restaurants and coffee places. That street leads down to a big commercial area. The breakfast was great with lots of options. I loved the art deco look throughout the hotel. Really stylish! The hotel was also immaculate! Every common area and rooms were very clean. Now the best part - the staff. They couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. All spoke English. I will stay here again when we come back.

We enjoyed our stay here, it is centrally located and we walked everywhere. Breakfast was excellent. We wished the clientele are younger to liven things up, other than that, it was almost perfect stay.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left (a bit earlier than we expected due to the Coronavirus situation) we had nothing but good experiences at the Hotel Britania. The breakfasts were wonderful and included fruits, pastries, yogurt, cereal, eggs, meats, etc. The port wine at afternoon tea and in the room was an awesome touch. Our room was spacious and we truly enjoyed it. The slippers and robes were an added bonus. The Art Deco style set this hotel apart from others. We always prioritize location when it comes to our choice of hotels and this was a 10 out of 10! We will be back!
