We stayed at the Altis Avenida for five nights beginning September 8, 2021. The hotel is next to the Restaurados metro stop so it’s an easy ride from the airport. Check in was easy. We had to show our vaccination cards. They upgraded us to a room with a balcony, room 617. It was beautiful, large and even though in a metropolitan area was very quiet. We had breakfast daily at the hotel on the 7th floor. A great selection of food and beverages. The view from the breakfast area is breathtaking. Ricardo was very helpful during our stay and offered many suggestions for things to do in the area. Numerous outdoor cafes are in the area and many parques are an easy walking distance. We went to Belem, Cascais, and Sinatra during our stay. The metro stop easily takes you to all connecting train stations. The Rossio train station is less than five minutes away. When I return to Lisbon, I will definitely stay at the Altis Avenida Hotel.

Location Location Location. Beautiful hotel. Luxurious but tasteful. I will come back as soon as I can. Gastrobar on the roof was stunning. Great cocktails and food. Staff attentive and professional. Room classy and large for such a central location.

We had an incredibly great stay at the Altis hotel. The staff went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. They just can’t say no, they’ll do anything to make your stay unforgettable. Room temperature adjustment, different pillows, private sun deck access after checkout. Nice turn down service, soundproof rooms, great cocktails at the Gastrobar. Fresh juice, custom eggs, nice espresso with the very good breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at the Altis and that’s mainly due to the super friendly staff.

We are just back to LA from 8 gorgeous days in Lisbon. I grow up in Lisbon, so naturally I choose ALTIS HOTELS, the "Portuguese Four Seasons", as base camp. The plan was simple: first days at Altis Avenida, walking to shops and restaurants, followed by Altis Belém, for a calming and resort like splurge by the water, with friends and family close by. I worked like a charm. I’ve been away for 27 years (NYC, Chicago, LA). A lot has changed in Lisbon. The world has discovered its irresistible appeal. And big hotel chains have moved in. …Still, ALTIS continues flawlessly bringing top notch elegance and luxury to every detail, to every guest, …like in the old days. WHAT WE LOVED: -Loved the stellar new locations. They are the absolutely the best, most coveted real estate in the city. Only an hotel company with these deep local roots could pull off building on the stretch b/t Rossio and Restauradores or b/t Torre de Belém -the monument symbol of Portugal- and Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the two single best locations in the city) -We absolutely loved the breathtaking ROOFTOP ROSSIO restaurant and GASTROPUB! Iconic, really, even for a "lisboeta" like myself: no better way to start and end the day than with THE BEST 360 PANORAMIC ROOFTOP VIEW IN THE CITY. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious, as are the menu treats and crafted cocktails by MICHELIN STARED João Rodrigues. (FYI, the best views are at the SOLARIUM). -We were blown away by the thoughtfulness of Ms. Maria Mendes, the Rooms Division Director. We were expected! Immediately, she addressed us by name. She informed us that our room had been upgraded and quickly preceded with our early check in, as promised while make the reservation. José, the kind, impeccable ambassador gave us the tour of the room and we noticed they had arranged for an early turned down service, as well as a beautiful amenity tray, with port wine and mineral water by the bed (after traveling 18 hours, we needed a nap). -The room was immaculate and super quiet, with a king size bed that slept like in the clouds. Pillows plenty, …the best I ever had in an hotel (and I’ve seen pillows bars in Tokyo hotels). Linens and towels were Portuguese, witch are best in the world. -Huge bathroom, all marble galore, super modern, well lit, …the highlight of the room. The awesome rain shower, terry robes and slippers were a treat, and the choice of toiletries were high-end. -We were hugely impressed by the housekeeping department and their attention to detail. Whatever system they used internally to communicate within themselves amongst staff, it works. If we had a change made with one staff member, they sure did a good job relaying it to one another. You could see they take pride in their hotel. -We loved the historic Art Deco architecture of the building, in particular the gorgeous wooden railings of the staircase and the 40’s marble finishes. -And the priceless BALCONY in our room. Seeing the city waking up (jet leg) …was memorable! -A huge special shout out to Mr. Diogo Silva, Altis Director of Operations. We were most impressed and truly humble that Mr. Silva attended to us personally and still keep his kind hand-written personal notes. He clearly, has created a service culture that is superlatively efficient, yet genuine and caring, not schooled and stuffy. -And we loved our 3 visits to Gambrinus, steps away from the hotel. My favorite restaurant growing in Lisbon and still one of its best for authentic Portuguese cuisine. Please pass our praise and kudos along to all your friendly and impeccable staff. Without all the insights and contacts, our stay would not have been the same. My wife and I are grateful and can’t wait to our return! (If you’re renting a car, we parked steps from the hotel at the restauradores underground garage for 20 Euros/day. At Altis Belém parking was free).
