This old-fashioned hotel, housed in half-halls with the Elevador da Glória, underwent a complete refurbishment in 2010. It was a very beautiful building, which kept the old traces abroad, but with a modern and bold interior. 100 rooms with modern decoration, from where you can see in the highest summits, the Castle of S. Jorge. The Glory restaurant and bar are also distinct spaces, available for event and cocktail services. From the restaurant's menu stand out the thin-crust pizzas and pastas. You can organize group lunches and dinners, since we have at your disposal several menus to complement the service of your wedding, baptism, anniversary or other meeting of a personal or professional nature.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of October. The location is great, the front desk staff are very helpful and the breakfast is more than adequate - hot food, cheese, ham, fruit etc plus the most amazing choice of cakes and pastries!!
The room we had was a pleasant surprise after reading some of the previous reviews here. It's an old hotel that in general looks a little sad, the hallways and rooms could def use a coat of bright new paint (currently dark yellow walls and brown paintwork makes everything look old and tired). But everything in the room was fine - the beds were comfortable, there was enough shelf space to put 2 small suitcases, there is a small wardrobe with only 5 hangers so bring your own travel hangers if you need more. The tv on the wall is about the size of a postage stamp lol. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and shower attachment, pressure was good. Our room overlooked a residential apartment block so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time which added to the general dullness of the room. If you need somewhere close to Rossio Square (and all the restaurants etc) this will work for you. If you are looking for somewhere you could hang out during the day this probably isn't for you as the room ambience isn't great.

The hotel is situated in the happening area close to Metro and within walkable distance to market, restaurants, theaters and places of interest. Most of the tour operators start tour from the closeby main street. The only drawback is it is lane behind the main street and very few people around the area knows about it. The second drawback the hitel staff dies not pick up calls.
The room is bit small but had a small balcony, the bed linen, towels, etc were all clean, electric kettle with complementary tea/coffee kit was provided, bathroom had body wash, conditioner, body lotion. The wash basin was rather too small. Overall room was nicely maintained.

Excellent location if you like to stay in the center / Chiado area. Hotel is between 2 blue line metro stations and the Glory funicular station is just around the corner. Several bus lines have stops in the square nearby.
I travelled alone and I had reserved double room (superior). I got a smallish room on the 5th floor, with beautiful view over Lisbon. The bed was maybe 140cm wide and it fulfilled the room quite completely. For one person the room worked well.
I stayed here in the end of March and at that time the heating is still on in every room. The room was too hot to me so I kept the balcony door open all night and I slept very well. There were several pillows to choose from.
The bathroom looked like it had been renovated recently. The tiles looked new and there was well working shower cubicle.
There was kettle in the room and possibility to make coffee and tea; i didn’t use it.
I ate only once the breakfast in the hotel. It cost 15 €/person. They served at least bread, cold cuts, cheese, cereal and muesli, joghurt (soy milk was also available), fruits, pastries, juice, coffee & tea.
The staff was all the time very nice and helpful.
There are several restaurants in the same street and also at least one mini market to buy water.
I would stay here again if looking for hotel in Lisbon center area.
I noticed that many people had complained in general the size of rooms and bathroom condition in the mid priced hotels in Lisbon. Many tourists like to stay in one of the old buildings, like this hotel. The old buildings cannot be compared to modern buildings: the rooms are sized differently, one room can be tiny and another one big. The air condition is not in the same level in old buildings. If those are important factors for your holiday success, I would advice either to select a modern hotel or invest in the hotel much more if you want to guarantee certain quality and room size.

Let’s put the good things first, location is perfect. All is nearby and the street is pretty calm. That’s about it. We did not get what we expected for paying more than €100 per night…
Things that disappointed: service, no air-co during “winter months” (we were there in April). If you then open the windows at night, you get woken up at 8am by the works next to the hotel + all the city noise. Cleaning was not great, workers are grumpy (maybe pay them better), amenities in the room are not as good as you’d expect from a hotel…
Just really do not suggest going here, it is not worth staying here u less you pay around €60. Good luck!

Only thing good about this hotel is the location and that is not 100%. Poor quality hotel. Very dated and dreary. Reserved 3 rooms and while they were all the same price, one person was given a box room in the attic that was tiny because they were on their own. Rooms are very tired, small and lack any warmth. My room had a small window that faced a wall. Not even a waste paper basket in room. Some of the furniture was damaged. Air conditioning is of a poor quality. Bathroom is purely functional and shower over bath is awful. Booked transport at the reception to the airport for 5 people and one taxi showed up that morning. Was shown the booking by the driver and it was for 3 persons. Two of us had to make our way down the steep hill to get a taxi. We asked permission to have a quick breakfast at 6:50am on the morning we were leaving as dining area did not open until 7:00am. We were told that would be fine but on arriving in the dining room, the staff were not happy and complained about us and a manager was called. This was totally uncalled for as we only wanted a bit of cereal and coffee. The girl on reception had a poor attitude and was not in the slightest bit helpful. I certainly would not recommend staying here. I'm sure there are nicest hotels for the money they are charging.

Great location very close to the city centre.
Clean rooms.
We came at 01:00 pm for check in, we have left our baggages in the storage room until 02:00 pm which we were supposed to get into our rooms as the normal check-in hour. Unfortunately the rooms weren't ready by 1430 pm and we were forced to leave and come back at a later time in order for the rooms to be ready. Quite unprofessional and disrespectful for the customers.
Also 2 power jacks, one shampoo and one shower gel for a double bedroom is absolutely not enough.

We only booked 1 night without breakfast. We had a room in the 4th. Floor (lift) with 3 beds. The room was clean, the mattresses cozy, the bathroom was large and clean. In the room we had a large window (opposite another building, not a nice view, but we didn't expect either, just wanted to stay overnight). In the room there was coffee, tea and fresh water. The hotel bar seemed cozy with a few comfortable armchairs. Located very centrally, a few meters from restaurants and attractions, nearest metro is "Restauradores". Around the corner passes the famous yellow old tram. The hotel is located in a side street, with no view. In the photo you can see a yellow building (this is not the hotel). For a weekend in Lisbon where you spend most of the time outside the hotel and need a cozy room with bathroom, I would prefer this hotel to some hostels as the price difference for a family room with bathroom with us was only Euro 50 and definitely worth it.

Very central location. Otherwise bad structure. The hotel was created by combining two buildings. The room is referred to as a single superior. But there is nothing superior.
After checking in I am given two electronic keys (usually only one is given) and later I would understand why.
In fact, being the room on the 3rd and last floor of one of the two buildings (the other building should have 6/7 floors), there was a very high temperature as the air conditioner worked only with the electronic key inserted. Evidently I had been handed two keys, so one to leave in the room to operate in air conditioning even when you were not in the room. It was also not impossible to get dark in the room, because the bathroom window had no blackouts, while the door connecting the bathroom to the room was glass.
I politely asked to change rooms. I was then assigned a room on the 2nd floor.
Old room, deteriorated floor. Presence of wet smell in the lobby. Even in the room there was a smell of old.
On the last day, in the middle of the night, I also found a cockroach about 10 cm behind the bed. I immediately pointed this out at the reception and the night attendant indicated that he could not leave the position and therefore could not do anything.
In the morning I then pointed out the cockroach at reception. The attendant thanked me for pointing this out.
Breakfast ok. But it's definitely not from 15 euros. Cappuccino and espresso not of the automatic machine, you pay separately.

Best bits first, this hotel is in an ideal location close to bars restaurants and transport links. It’s spotlessly clean with good beds and bedding. The rooms are a bit small and there are no draws for storage of clothes, just coat hangers. The hotel bar wasn’t open and neither was the restaurant apart from breakfast So, what facilities were there ? None. Breakfast was fairly good but not many hot dishes, predominantly continental style but all fresh and tasty. There was a toast machine that didn’t toast the bread and you couldn’t turn it up. When I complained the waitress just said it’s not very good and it’s been like that for ages ! Not what I wanted to hear. Considering I was paying over £100 a night for a hotel with no bar and no restaurant it let itself down.

Rooms are equipped with the very basic, good enough for just one or two nights.
Unfortunately there was a building construction with a lot of noise very early in the morning and sort of high pitch machine noise (like a compressor) going the whole night so we had very bad sleeping.
Of course we closed the windows but it was suffocating since we were three!!!
The Administration indicated that there was no air conditioning in the room since it wasn’t summer season yet and we had to remain in that room (at the back of the building) since they don’t have triple rooms in the front.
They just provided us a fan which added more noise to our resting time. Sorry but can’t give a good review when I had a very bad sleeping time with a very poor solution.

Use Uber - better and cheaper
Hi
The arena is about 5 miles as the crow flies, the metro is easy to use and there are two stations very close by. The stop you need for Meo Arena is Oriental.
Hi, the reception is 24 hours so will still be open when you arrive. Enjoy
Can’t remember the name of the station but If you search it’s a big station have a look on maps you’ll find it
