It is a small boutique hotel, relatively new and from my experience, they certainly appreciate every guest. The receptionist took me on a tour and showed me different rooms on different floors (each named after a type of wine). How creative! They have a tasting car and garden area which allows you to disconnect from the city's hustle and bustle and fully enjoy your wine and food.
The first visit I had a coffee and dessert at their bar. It was their delicious version of a brulée. A week later I found myself in the same area and had to try their wine and food. I had a nice seat by the window. I opted for a breakfast style sausage, egg bake with an amazing wine from Douro Valley. The staff is so helpful and courteous. The young waiters knew their wine and educated me a little on the types I was tasting. It was a nice stop for me to decompress and jot down some notes.
Overall a great experience and this will be my hotel of choice if I find myself needing accommodations in the heart of Lisbon!
The hotel is perfectly located close to several nice restaurants and a handful of Lisbon sights.
Breakfast at €17 is too expensive, we think - we went to nearby bakery & café Fabrica de Nata that offers everything you need for half the price.
Parking is in a nearby public parking house - you will get a discount from the hotel.
A definite recommendation from me - we will return.
Super clean, restocked water, towels, toiletries daily. Very friendly staff who were warm and welcoming and happy to help with all our enquiries.
You’re right in the hub here so close to Bairro Alto and Chiado district. We walked everywhere from here and it was a delight to return to a cool air conditioned spotless room with fresh towels, slippers and dressing gowns.
We didn’t eat or breakfast here ourselves but we did see other guests doing so. We booked a standard room on the first floor. It does look out over a very busy mostly pedestrian cobbled street ( cars only allowed before 11am so you’d be dropped a little down the road with your cases if after 11am!) but when the bedroom doors were closed the noise didn’t disturb us at all and I like peace so it really wasn’t a bother. I didn’t see the upgraded rooms but found the standard room more than adequate. You have a little Juliette balcony where you can sip you espresso restocked daily. A real pleasure if you’re looking for a simply unpretentious city base for all your sightseeing in Lisbon.
The location was perfectly central and we really appreciated the hotel arranging for us to be picked up at the airport.
The room was really spacious and well appointed, the temperature was perfect even when it was nudging 35°c outside. My only criticism of the whole place was the fact that there were no sockets near the bed and I had to charge my phone a bit of distance away. It’s a really busy street outside but the room was quiet with the windows closed.
The ‘secret’ terrace was one of the best bits of the hotel - a really nice spot to grab a wine and some snacks and chill out, away from the hubbub outside.
The hotel is set in a pedestrian area of the city however is only a couple of minutes walk from the hustle and bustle and taxi drop off is very easy.
We upgraded to a Superior room and were delighted we did, our room was specious and beautifully decorated, the bed exceptionally comfortable (we slept like babies), the bathroom well designed with lots of shelf space and a stunning rain shower, the floor to ceiling windows gave stunning views down the buzzing pedestrian street. The complimentary bottle of red wine was very welcome.
The breakfast was fantastic, a great selection of continental choices: fruit, cereal, yogurt, quiche, ham, cheese and a fabulous selection of pastries and tarts. The hot selection is eggs anyway you like, the omelettes were especially tasty.
There is a lovely cool terrace on the second floor, a great place to relax in the egg chair or on one of the comfy seats. There does appears to be a small outside bar, however, it wasn’t open when we were there.
The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were always on hand to answer our questions, especially in relation to the Metro and the different ticket options.
We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to a return visit.
The only downside is we wished we could have stayed longer. We will be back.
