Edifício da Corte is located on the Street and Calçada do Ferragial, located next to the Fernandina Fence, wall built by D. Fernando in 1373 to account for the reality and growth of the population of the time, since the previous Cerca Moura no longer supported in the post-recapture period. Together, but at the time outside the Wall, hence its Latin name (farrago inis) meaning "field where harvested green cereals are grown." A few centuries later, the area was once the site of the famous Corte Real Palace, one of the most majestic palaces in the history of Lisbon, totally destroyed in the earthquake and tsunami of 1755. It belonged initially to the Corte Real family. He sold it to the Royal House at the time of the infant D. Pedro, later regent of the Kingdom, and finally king D. Pedro II, who lived there until his brother, Afonso VI, was dethroned. It served, from then on, like residence of Infantado.

We just finished staying at the Almaria Edificio da Corte for a whole month. We are so happy with our choice! The staff is wonderful, the place is absolutely clean, and the location was ideal for us. We had a full kitchen including dishwasher, stove, microwave, refrigerator, clothes washer/dryer, living room, two bedrooms with baths, fast wifi, and there is an elevator. The apartment-hotel is located just above Corpo Santo and just below Chaido, so you can walk anywhere from here including the Time Out Market. Most of the local public transportation routes and methods you could imagine are nearby. The classic 28E electric trolly car stops just around the corner and can take you clear across the main city from east to west, stopping in all of the historical neighborhoods. (If you are in Lisbon for more than a few days, be sure to get a Via Viagem public transit pass at any Metro station and save a bundle.) There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby, as well as the bars and nightclubs (if that’s your thing). There are grocery stores around if you have an extended stay and want to cook or just have snacks and drinks around. The neighborhood is generally quiet, but we were only a ten minute walk from Praça Commercio, Baixa, and Chiado (for more shopping and eating). The modern art museum is a block away. This is a real gem and we would gladly stay here again any time. After a week we started referring to it as “home” at the end of the day. (As in, “Are you ready to go home?”) Definitely 5+ stars.

What impressed us the most the business and its staff had really made effort to make their guests to have an enjoyable stay. The apartment is very clean, and cleaning service is done daily. Pastries for breakfast were different for every morning during our four night stay. Other cupboard stables are refilled daily. The service staff even noticed that we like still water, rather than sparkling, and eggs, so they change it to our prefer and provide more the next morning.
The washing machines was not functioning well, but alternative facility was offered immediately.
The concierge staff are also very helpful, from tourist information, transfer booking to dinner recommendation and booking.
If I have to pick something to suggest, perhaps for the top floor, the lighting could be brighter as the ceiling is low during to the roof and it makes the apartment a bit darker than usual.
Highly recommend.

We have just returned from a four night stay in Almaria, Edificio da Corte. We reserved and cancelled this trip twice due to the virus so were delighted to finally make it. Our original reservation was on a non-refundable basis which I accidentally booked. So we were extremely grateful when the team were understanding and invited us to come back and experience some Lisboa hospitality.
Our very spacious apartment had some beautiful stone walls and a vaulted ceiling. Loads of atmosphere, peace and calm in such a central location.
It's an easy walk to everywhere and the hills make for some great exercise and an excuse to eat more custard tarts.
Turning right out of the building, then left, then right, takes you to the top of the hill and the Tram Stop for the famous 28E tram. What a ride !!
Book an apartment either here or in one of the other two historic buildings in the group, you will not be disappointed. The price per night is well below what we would have expected to pay for such accommodation.
By the way, the breakfast system works really well. Fresh bread and croissants left outside your door, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, etc in the fridge.

We travelled to Lisbon for our wedding anniversary and stayed in a one bedroom apartment. We could not have been happier. The apartment was clean, spacious, bright and airy. There was a long balcony overlooking a street at the back of the hotel but there was no street noise. It had all mod cons, including a full cooker, a dishwasher and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. The fridge was stocked with milk, water, fruit and ingredients for Breckfast which changed each day. There was tea, coffee and complementary condiments. Every morning at 8.30 am, fresh bread and pastries were left at our door which was a lovely touch. There is a concierge on duty until 6 pm every day and they went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Catarina was especially personable and helpful. She had a lovely surprise waiting for us on the date of our anniversary when we returned to the apartment, which made it extra special. Edificio da Corte is about a 10 minute walk to the river and 2 metro stations and within easy walking distance of many sights and good shopping.
We hope to return soon again. Thank you Catarina and Almaria da Corte for making our special weekend extra special.

We stayed in the Deluxe River view 2 bedroom apartment. It was on the 3rd floor with a window view of the Tagus River. We had 2 bedrooms which could both be made up as either 2 twins or 1 king. 2 full bathrooms as well. There was a small combo washer/dryer for small loads plus a good living space for 4. Every morning we had breakfast food left for us- fresh bread, eggs, fruit, yogurt milk and granola as well as some ham and cheese. Great location- the 28 tram has a stop about a block away and there are lots of great restaurants within 3-4 blocks. Pink Street is about 3 blocks away for an evening drink and entertainment. The host was wonderful and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend to those wanting a lovely well situated apartment.

Great location in the Chiado, close to the metro and tram stops. The property was clean and as pictured with a super attentive house staff. They went above and beyond with recommendations for an authentic Lisbon experience including fresh bread deliveries each morning and a goodbye treat with fresh tarts.

Following the conclusion of a mall group tour, we spent 2 extra nights in Lisbon at this gem. The building is a recently renovated historical building in the Chiado neighborhood. This place was fabulous.... A one bedroom apartment (on a quiet street) with a full kitchen (Bosch appliances) and a well appointed sitting area. Your stay includes a small daily selection of meats and cheeses (in the fridge) + fresh bread/rolls hanging on your door in the morning. A very nice touch! Great location near the river, walking distance to Time Out Market, Parce de Commercial, other points of interest and nearby nightlife (but not so close that it keeps you up at night). We would clearly stay here again.

Located in Chiado beside Time Out market, restaurants and other attractions. It was convenient for shopping area, riverside walks and Metro. The apartment was kept spotlessly clean each day. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed New Year by presenting us with wine and traditional Portuguese treats.

This was a little slice of heaven. We got to the hotel early and was able to leave our luggage there. They gave us a great recommendation for where to go for breakfast. When we got back from exploring the city, our room was ready, with our large amount of luggage already in our room. Got a tour of the apartment, which was helpful since I had booked it months before. The 2 bedroom apartment was SPACIOUS!!!! The two bedrooms were nicely appointed and my teen made the chair by the window with curtains her little hideaway to read. We loved that there was breakfast in the fridge ready for us and fresh bread delivered to our door in the morning. We had a hard time figuring out the coffee machine, but was able to get help. It was nice to be able to spread out and have some more space compared to many other places we stayed in Europe. It was a great location. Although on a hill, it was easy to get to tours and for a variety of food options. We appreciated the help with getting a last minute transfer to the airport at a very early hour with road restrictions due to the Pope coming into town. This felt much more like an air bnb than a hotel, but it had the service of a 4 star hotel.

My friends and I stayed at this lovely property on holiday and loved our experience. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were beautiful and well-equipped. We loved the Loft A and apartment 2B's unique design, spaciousness, and comfort. Everyday we were given fresh food, fruit, orange juice, and bread. The location was absolutely perfect and in walking distance to Commercial Square and all the major attractions and restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful property and will stay here again next time.
