A lovely small hotel in the heart of Alfama, exceeded our expectations. Friendly, very helpful when we arrived early am. Stowed our bags, used the facilities to freshen up and we were on our way exploring beautiful Lisbon. Once checked in our room was great, 3a, the Roberto Ivens studio has a small balcony overlooking the small square with a tram stop (12E) and Amalia mosiac. Well appointed small kitchen, small bath (frosted glass walls) with a 3 function shower (hand, waterfall, rainfall) with thoughtful lighting (undersink and toilet night light). A comfy chair by the balcony, a nice spot to sit and enjoy the great view. Also a desk, table and 2 chairs, bench, clothing storage and nightstands . We could see a slice of water from our balcony and window. Great area, multiple miradouros, the castle, restaurants within walking distance, it will be either uphill or downhill. Tram 28E stop also very close by. Breakfast was very good with multiple options, all very fresh.
Small hotel with modern amenities in an older charming area of town, it was perfect for us.

Great small boutique hotel in the Alfama area of Lisbon. This was a great base to explore Lisbon as it is close to cafés, restaurants and tourist attractions. The tram and bus stop was a small walk from the hotel making it an ideal place to stay and explore Lisbon. The rooms were tastefully themed in ode to Portuguese explorers. A complimentary bottle of water and a small bottle of wine was in the room on arrival. Bed was a little too hard for our backs and the pillows were lacking but it didn't spoil our nights sleep. Our room was on the front close to fado café's and restaurants so we thought the room would be noisy at night but it was the complete opposite, the french doors to the juliette balcony were well insulated so when shut the room was really quiet. Breakfast was buffet style self serve (continental) at €15 per person. You could make your own toast to have with the small selection of meats, jams and fruit. If we were to stay again we would opt out of the breakfast option as they were better offerings in local cafés and bakeries in the area that are better priced. We would have preferred more local, traditional pastries etc. On our first day we found the staff to be a little unfriendly but the second day the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. She even offered us a drink of water while she collected our bags from storage. It was a hot day and we had been sightseeing/walking all day so this was very thoughtful and welcomed. All in all this is a fabulous hotel and we are looking forward to visiting again.

Location, Location! This boutique hotel is right in the middle of Old Town, Lisbon. Rooms are very comfortable, and even have stove top, microwave and dishes in a mini kitchenette. The refrigerator is very ample and about twice the size of normal hotel refrigerators. The beds are VERY comfortable. Breakfast is served each morning and is "Continental Plus", with fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, scrambled eggs. Beverages are also provided, included expresso. The staff are amazingly welcome. Shout out to Diego, Fabio and Victor for making our stay so fantastic. This hotel is also reasonably priced. You honestly can't go wrong staying here. I highly recommend 👌

Good points-excellent sound proofing windows, powerful excellent shower, average breakfast. The shower and toilet are in smoky glassed cubicles separated by a wash hand basin, if you are travelling with a partner/ friend be prepared to get intimately acquainted ( you can see through the glass).
Unfortunately customer service needs some attention. We were planning a day trip, I asked the manager if we could have an earlier breakfast at 07.00hrs ( normal breakfast hours are between 08.00-11.00hrs), we had already prepaid for all of our breakfasts. The answer I received took me aback, the manager promptly replied that 'it's impossible'. I found this attitude quite astonishing. He did not make any attempt to suggest a solution to our dilema, he was clearly not interested, perhaps a job in hospitality doesn't suit him. Another morning I asked the waitress at breakfast for black tea, she simply replied that there wasn't any before another manager attended and pointed them out to her. Customer service does need addressing here.
The matress is covered with one sheet. As Alex Polizzi points out, the mattress is the first thing she looks at when entering a hotel room, a mattress should be double sheeted otherwise you're stewing in other people's juices.

This hotel, the are, the staff, the rooms are absolutely charming. The staff really pays attention to every little detail in a personal and authentic way. The rooms are in a style of their own, not your average impersonal hotel room. Our absolutely best recommandations.

On arrival we found the property with a lot of scaffolding at the ground level and it looked shut in all honesty as the building was clearly ready for significant work on the entire frontage. Not a thing wrong with that, we hadn’t been warned though. Simple communication. Not hotels fault.

Once at reception (1030am) we knew the room wouldn’t be ready so we dropped the cases off and left to explore until 3pm check in time. We arrived back at 240 to be met by a stern member of staff who without any friendly greeting reminded us that 3pm was check in time. My face ensured he at least went to check progress ( we had been up since 4am but as he wasn’t interested in us, he didn’t know that).10 Minutes later we had a room.

The room was really nice. No complaints, full of praise and a big surprise given the story so far.

Breakfast room is tiny and really cramped but the food is fine. Scrambled egg the only hot food on offer.

The guy who made us feel so unwelcome in the beginning, made an effort on departure, so only fair to mention this.

Decent location but high up and a tram home might be the answer for some. The 12 and 28 drops you at the door.

Great location for exploring and right on the famous 28 tram route. The restaurant downstairs was beautiful as were the staff. Breakfast was good but not stunning.
The reason for not giving 5 stars is the room we had. We had the top floor room and despite the lovely room and fantastic views they have a major plumbing issue with the second bathroom smelling like a Bali street sewer. For some reason there is a disgusting smell coming from the pipes in the second bathroom, at the top of the stairs and entry to the greater apartment and it impacts the whole studio apartment- very sad.
Not sure about the other rooms but don’t ask for the top floor until they have fixed it.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast. Arrived early and was allowed to check in. The room was not only very comfortable but beautifully decorated. Amenities modern and so much more than I expected. Glass windows very thick and keep room quiet. A/C worked great. Nice affordable restaurant right across the street.

After arriving early evening with an Uber from the airport (14 euro and worked great!), we were greeted at the door by hotel manager Diego who made us feel really at home and took us up to our room. It's a great located boutique hotel, lovely spot at the top of one of the 'hills' of Lisbon, a nice couple of bars 100 metres away, 10mins walk from the castle, 20 mins walk from from the centre of town and the infamous tram 28 passes by the hotel, both the area and Lisbon had a great vibe. Our room was really clean, good facilities of a fridge, coffee machine, sink and a really nice touch of a bottle of rose wine on arrival:-) . Breakfasts were plentiful and relaxed, so all in all a fantastic stay, thanks so much to Diego and the team.

My initial stay at the Dalma Hotel was for a limited time, but I stayed much longer due to my great satisfaction.
I am an architect and I really enjoyed the very attractive and careful architecture of Dalma Hotel.
The hotel environment is very friendly and everything is done in order and accuracy.
Dalma Hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
