Great value for money for this place which is right into city center, close from underground station, tramway, buses, touristic point views. Staff is very nice and helpful, the place is quiet and very clean. We booked a private room but had a look at common areas which were very clean too ! I would definitely recommend this place !

Nice staff, very clean, comfortable beds, 24 hours reception. The common room is very nice and cozy. It's a perfect place where to read a book and chill out. I was really satisfied with it. I've seen many hostels in Europe, but this one was absolutely the best. In one word: lovely! p.s.: don't miss the Sintra tour, it's worth... More

I stayed at the hostel 10 days and really enjoyed it. I decided to take a private room which was very spacious and nice, towels were included within the price . Private rooms are situated on the floor, which was great and silent,as the dorms are on the fifth floor (it an be very noisy there, hence I would recommend taking the private... More

The hostel was a bit difficult to find but the location was very convenient. It is closed to many tourist sites. The receptionists were very helpful and friendly. Couldn't find any fault with the private bedroom.

The location is perfect. In the middle of the city. Nearby the bars, shoppingcentre and metro. The room we spelt was for 6 persons, for the first time is a bit strange but also fun. It is value for money.

Hostel is right by metro station in the centre. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included, and was simple and nice. All facilities were clean, especially new bathrooms. Rooms had everything you needed, and everything really well designed / styled. Good value.

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Lisbon, thanks to Lisbon Poets Hostel. It is an amazing place to stay right at the heart of the city. As one comes out of the metro tunnel of Baixa Chiado station, the hotel is right in front you. The receptionist, Laura is an amazingly friendly and amiable person. She went... More

Perfect location, lovely staff, and great breakfast included! Overall I really had a great stay at Poets. It seems to attract a little more mature crowd, so it depends on what environment you want. I was looking for a relaxed yet social atmosphere and Poets was just that, not to mention very clean and very affordable. PSA: BOOK THE DINER!... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set between cobblestone alleys and old streets, Lisbon Poets Hostel is the perfect place to soak up the charm of this mythical city. Located in Chiado - the most happening district in Lisbon - you'll find us amongst the most beautiful buildings which were restored to their former glory after the earthquake of 1755. It's also the arts district - you'll find out what Portuguese street art is all about, as well as many small art galleries in the least expected places, little-known concert venues and the best alternative designer decor shops in the city. Lisbon Poets hostel sits above 'A Brasileira', Lisbon's most famous cafe, and is just steps away from the Baixa-Chiado metro exit. Just beside us is Bairro Alto, the famous nightlife district where you can dance the night away, with streets full of bars, cafes and general booze-filled fun times. ... more   less
