What a great find of a hostel! The location is perfect, in the heart of the Alfama's characteristic back lanes. It can be a bit tricky to find the hostel, so having maps on your phone helps (ring the bell at the gate to get in the first time). The staff here was fabulous, giving out lots of advice, booking... The staff here is so friendly, smart and helpful. I had a gigantic suitcase full of tile and one of the employees, Zoe, carried it up the stairs for me. I was so tired and grateful! Every single person that works here is a gem. They cooked lovely meals when we were too tired to go out looking for sustenance.... More

Really wonderful experience. Friendly and help staff. Great place to meet other travelers. Interest starcases to top room which was quiet even though Tram 28 passes by. Room is small and has it own unique charm which is topped off by ocean view. Breakfast was good, price was nice and I would go back here again :)

I have stayed for a couple of nights at the oldest Destination Hostel. I had the opportunity to enjoy fully the hostel. The staff is cool and helpful, the rooms are clean and genuine, the house is at the heart of Alfama. I clearly love the Friday night barbecue which brings a nice atmosphere to the hostel. Thanks to a... More

one of the prettiest hostels I have ever stayed at! it has a lot of charme a little but stunning outside areas with hammocks and a rooftop terrace. this palce is perfect to explore lisbon as it organises everything over pub crawls, free city tours, day trips to areas close by and even surfing classes.

I stayed 4 nights here. This is a very good hostel and I would recommend it - the staff are excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed. The location is subjective - some will enjoy the quaint Alfama neighbourhood, but if you are looking to go out every night you'll be better off closer to Baixa. Having free access to the... More

I loved staying here! The atmosphere is really social and welcoming. I felt very safe and secure as the main door is locked and you have to buzz every time you come in. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The neighbourhood is beautiful - I enjoyed staying in Alfama. It's convenient to tram... More

This beautiful boutique hostel was one of my favourites in Europe. Located in the quaint neighborhood of Alfama, it's situated within easy walking distance to all the main attractions of Lisbon. The rooms were spacious, clean and (relatively) warm for the dead of winter, it offered a delicious and varied breakfast, friendly helpful staff, clean and well tended for amenities,... More

I spent three nights here on my solo trip in Portugal and it was by far my favorite hostel experience on the trip. The environment was so lovely great people and Staff, I could sit on the hammocks all day and be the happiest. It was very relaxing, but at the same time there was so much to do and... More

Staying in Graca & Sao Vicente

Neighborhood Profile
Graca & Sao Vicente
You can be thankful that most common travel guides don't mention Graça and São Vicente that often. Part of Lisbon's historic center and "Old Town", they feel like independent villages in the capital's center, and more untouched than Alfama. Amazing views, restaurants and parks, as well as important monuments like the S. Vicente Church and the National Pantheon, make this a spectacular option for those looking for a more tranquil walk-around in the center of Lisbon. Graça has been the choice of many younger people over the past years, both nationals and expats, given the cozy feeling of the neighborhood and its hidden secrets.
