Amazonia hotel was a very good experience for our family. We loved the fact that the hotel have large appartments and that is was a small hotel. Lots of privacy and staff that was so helpfull with our plans. Trainstation very close and so easy to get to lisbon. Although soms things can be improvid we absoluty had a very pleasant stay. If you don't mind that the kitchen only have limited pans, you will be fine. Be aware for people with disibilaties. The street is a great workout, going uphill. The furniture needs replacment, and the beds for the children in the livingroom could use an upgrade. But then again housekeeping was very helpfull, every day we had the beds made up and the room cleaned. Breakfast was well organised. Each morning there were the basics from croisants, bread, eggs, fruits yohurts, and a surprise sweet roll from pasteis de nata to muffins.. the swimmingpool is very quite even in august and the hotel provides clean towels to use. The area was quite, and the room we stayed in was very cool even with the AC off. We are looking back on a great stay in estoril. In need of groceries? We used ubereats to deliver to the appartement. We hope to come back in the naar future, amazonia will be on our list for booking.

Room spacious but basic. The sofa had a white blanket covering it as it was very tired, the shower was adequate but 1 door not on its runners. The vet more importantly was comfy and the housekeeping spot on. We got 12 items laundered whilst there, 4 socks, 2 pants, 2 shirts, 2 trousers and 2 t shirts, cost charged was 36.50 gbp ! Breakfast was help yourself.... standard scrambled eggs, streaky bacon and little sausages with a toaster that broke on 4th day and no alternativemase available. Fresh fruit and cakes was good first day then got progressively worse and regardless of if you are first or last the food was the same.
Saying that, we loved the pool and the towels made available. Avoid buying beer etc from hotel as the prices were silly. Would we attend again. Well, probably not, but it suited us for the 7 days.

We went to this hotel at the end of September. The hotel consists of two buildings. The main building contains the reception, the restaurant and the rooms with a seaview. The other building, which we stayed in, contains appartments. The apartment we were initially allocated was on the bottom floor next to the main entrance. Not a bad room, but a little gloomy and my sleep was disturbed by other holidaymakers going in and out of the entrance door and walking across a small wooden bridge. However, when I asked for another room on the following day, the manageress allocated us another room on the third floor with a balcony (albeit overlooking the car park), which was more to our liking. The rooms are plenty large enough for two people, have a flat screen TV, plenty of wardrobe space and the toilet room is perfectly adequate; the shower was particularly good. We booked half board. Again, the food is perfectly adequate. Breakfast was well stocked, with egg, bacon, sausages, cooked meats, cheese, bread, cereals, fruit, yogurt and (really strong) coffee and tea. A good hearty breakfast set us up for the rest of the day. The main evening meal always consisted of soup to start with, a choice of meat or fish for the main and finished off with a dessert. Pedro, the cook and waiter, was a charming host, and always interesting to talk to without being constantly 'in your face'. We ate out a few times - the cost was between 20 and 40 euros each for a three course meal, including drinks. Pedro told us you can eat out for about 8 euros if you go off the beaten track. Some of the other guests had self catering appartments - one of their complaints was that wasn't enough cooking utensils supplied (they had to buy another pan to cook their food) and there wasn't a toaster nor a kettle.
The hotel had a small pool, sun loungers and clean towels. We never used the pool as Estoril beach is only a 5 minute walk away. Estoril is quite sedate - plenty of bars and restaurants. The casino is just across the road from the hotel and is OK for a night out, even if you are not into gambling. The train station backs on to the beach - my advice is to get a beach ticket which costs about 6 euros and entitles you to travel for a week on the train line between Cascais and Lisbon. You have to keep your wits about you, though, as most of the names on the train stations are hard to spot and the information system on the train wasn't working most of the time. Also, every other train is a fast train and doesn't stop at every station. We used this line to get into Lisbon (about 30-40 minutes) and to other beaches. Estoril and Cascais beaches are good family beaches; it is posible to partake in water sports at Cascais. We used to walk into Cascais most evenings (about 20 minutes along the coastal walk - very pleasant) as there was a lot more happening; plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Boca do Inferno is also worth a visit - you can walk to it from Cascais if you go through the Marina. Cascais also has a Paula Rego musuem - we played the game of looking at the paintings to try and work out what they were all about before reading the explanation - we never got it right! There is also a good supermarket (Jumbo) in Cascais that you can buy food if you are self catering. Cavecalos is a good surfers beach. Parede is a bit small and the waves were very high the day we went. If you go to Lisbon, the castle is a good visit as is the Mude museum and a trip on Tram 28. Its worth looking at the Fado in Chiado - there is a theatre that gives an hour taster of Fado music. Belem has a modern art musuem (Warhol, etc) and a coach museum (so-so). Oeiras isn't really worth a visit unless you want to play hunt the tourist information office; it took us half an hour even though it was sign posted. There is a small vintage car museum just outside Oerias although 90% of the cars are MGs, which is great if, like me, you are an MG enthuiast. Oceanaria in the the Parque das Nacoes (excuse spelling) was also a highlight - very impressive.
We had a car, but we rarely used it and when we did we found travelling around Portugal a nightmare. We were just greatful to get back alive!
All in all, we had a very enjoyable, relaxing holiday (apart from the driving). The hotel was good to use as a base and the staff were very friendly and accomodating.

We went there for a 2 week stay and got a studio. The conditions were appalling for the price, cheap furniture, floor skirting peeling off, dishwasher was rusted so couldn’t use, shower doors wouldn’t close properly and water was leaking out. Breakfast was same and expensive and staff couldn’t be bothered really. Outside the hotel needs really looking after.

Would not recommend to anyone, very expensive mistake.

Booked 2 studios for 10 days and on the surface it looks okay but not very clean. The stained uncomfortable sofa was covered in a white throw. dishwasher had rust in it as had all bins. Laminite flooring peeling in places. Was told at check in that rooms would be only serviced every 3 days due to Covid but on day 4 had to ask for rooms to be serviced, said they would be done next day and apolgised. next day one room was still not serviced so went to reception and meet the rudest man, he should not be working in the service industry. other staff were pleasant. both rooms were only serviced twice in 10 days!! Beds were comfortable. Pool towels a suprise bonus Might be okay for a one night stay but definitely not longer.

Perfect location, spacious room, clean, quiet and easy access via a lift.
The staff were welcoming and Iala who managed the breakfast room was so friendly and helpful.
The hotel has an art deco style, decorated beautifully throughout.
I loved our view across the bay and overlooking the majestic pines.
Living up to its name ,green parrots frequent the grounds of the hotel, flying noisily in and around the pines.
A truly relaxing stay.

Considering I just left a "less expensive 5 star" hotel on the Atlantic with superb service and amenities, this was by far a GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. Come on,,,,foam pillows and towels that looked like they were taken from a local gymnasium and breakfast that for the most part came out of a can. Yes there were a few pieces of fresh fruit, but they were mixed in with canned fruit and there was a limited selection of pastries that for sure had been there for a few days. The lady at check in was less than helpful when we inquired about a dinner place. I've traveled the world and only once did I leave a day earlier than planned. Amazonia you were disappointia....

I wanted a romantic and relaxed beach holiday with my partner and I really wanted a nice hotel as a bad hotel can really spoil a holiday. I am SO glad we picked hotel amazonia. We took a risk and just picked it because of how it looked on its website and its location and our risk paid off. The staff were lovely and very helpful. One waitress was so chatty and friendly and even gave my partner and I a free dessert at the hotel resturant. Our room was stylish, comfy and very clean. The decor could be accused of being a little cold but it is done to a high standard and feels more modern than sparse. The shower was amazing. The best shower Ive ever used. We had a little kitchenette which was very handy as eating out every night can get a little tiresome. There is a "jumbo" supermarket a five euro taxi ride away which was great for getting snacks. The hotel resturant is quiet and the food is reasonable but to be honest there are much better resturants five min walk away.
I really enjoyed my stayed here. If you are looking for a relaxed luxuary get away then this hotel is perfect. Five mins away from the beach, five mins from a train link to lisbon and there is a lovely 15 min walk to cascais along the sea. If you have young children or looking for a party hotel this probably isnt for you. I love it !

We spent a week at the hotel in room 133. The stay was good and most of our experiences met our expectations. I take the opportunity to again thank the staff for their services!

Some highlights from our visit:
- the location is good and the views over Estoril and the beaches is breathtaking. Be prepare to climb a bit uphill for this, it's worth it. If you have a normal physical condition you will not suffer from this excersize, though.
- we purchased a tourist ticket for the public transportation. Using the train services it was easy to commute to Lisboa and Cascais. It took us about 5-8 minutes to walk down to the station.
- breakfast is of a high quality.
- the staff is committed to serving you and you get to know them in this cosy little hotel
- nearby you will find some decent restaurants, such as Jackpot, which serves good fish courses

The wifi works but requieres some patience as it is slowish, but not a problem. You select this hotel for other merrits than being able to download movies.

Not a 4 star hotel at all. Advertises lunch and dinner on their website and in the lift, but no facilities available apart from breakfast, very misleading. Breakfast was marginal! Reception staff grumpy. Laundry service said same day service, took 2 days. Wifi a shambles. Hotel a bit shabby, room clean though.
