The guest house Casalinho of St. Antonio is a familiar spacious country villa with a large pleasant garden. The place where it is situated is an invitation to all of those that enjoy and appreciate the calmness, beauty and mystery associated to Sintra and its hills. It also complies with the requirement of the most demanding beach lovers and surfers. It's a house of typical Portuguese architecture distancing 35 km from Lisbon and 500 ms from Praia Grande. Adraga and Macas Beach are at 5 minutes distance. The nearest villa, Colares, is 2 Km away. In this villa you can find a health care centre, pharmacy and small shops. There is a wide range of activities and public places on the outskirts (from 7 to 10 km away): - Golf in Penha Longa - Cultural visits and shows in Sintra - Sophisticated shops in Cascais. It will be forever in your memory the seafood restaurants, the traditional ones, the bicycles rides, the hiking, the magnificent landscapes or just the unique sunset. The rooms have private bathroom and en-suite and central heating.

We stayed at Isabels Guesthouse for 3 nights. The house and the garden are very beautiful. we had a very nice view over Colares from our balcony. Its walking distance to Praia grande.
Isabel is a very friendly host who is truly interested in her guests comfort.
We would definitely stay there again!

Our host greets us and tells us all we need and want to know. "This is a family house, feel at home, prepare your own food in the kitchen, come and go as you like."
The family "Ba" (grandmother) serves nice breakfast and the super host Isabel pops in to say good morning in the visitors living room every morning. "Is there anything you need?" A very nice way to start the day. First week of August is warm in Lisbon, but here we got to chill and reload our batteries after a long summer of work. The long beautiful beach Praia Grande is just a 10-15 minutes walk from the location and the waves are big and the wind chills so that the sun does not burn.
There is a large garden outside, and an out-door grill. A lot of space to be both private and social. Their two sheep dogs are friendly and people are smiling, coming or going. We definitely want to come back here. Our bed was a bit squeaky, but no matter no matter, we had a private bathroom and felt very at home.
The over 100 year old tram goes to Sintra (the busses too) one of the most beautiful small cities...here you can visit the famous Castle Da Pena and other castles and buildings of the World Heritage. Visit the local vine yard in Colares is also possible. Its good to have done a little research before you go here, cause there is a lot of fun to do. Go visit!

This was a great experience as travelers who wanted to get to know the area outside Lisbon and stay with a multi lingual Portuguese family. The beautiful beach was right up the street and Lisbon was accessible by train. The scenery nearby was wonderful and we actually were able to relax and enjoy ourselves without the constant pressure of meeting travel deadlines.

Isabel and her family were very warm and inviting. We stayed several nights, ate great homemade dinners with the family and spent time getting to know them. We became good friends and we are in contact with them.

I would highly recommend staying with this wonderful family. This will make for a very different Lisbon experience.

What an amazing holiday...best ever...We spent 13 nights and it was too short..we left with tears in our eyes and a heavy heart. Isabel is a wonderful..warm..loving and caring person. From the minute my son and i walked in we were welcomed as family :-) The atmosphere at her home is peaceful yet at the same time hilarious we had the best times at breakfast and dinner..There are people from all over the world and we all got along so well...one has to put it down to the home of Isabel and her family..The food at Casalinho can compete with any restaurant..there are restaurants walking distance from the B&B but we preferred the food at Casalinho :-) Two beaches are also within walking distance. My room with a stunning view is booked for next year August... Thanks once again..keep up the great work ..Love you guys

Casalinho di Antonio is an excellent place to enjoy your holidays. Isabelle is a very nice and beautiful woman like all his family. I would stay all the year in Casalinho di Antonio because it is a very funny and quiet place in Portugal. I will come back soon.

Could not speak more highly of generous and kind hospitality of Isobel. The accomodation is very comfortable and quiet. Great location for the beach and fab local restaurants and a short drive to the buzz of Sintra-Central. We loved staying there, meeting other guests and enjoying a relaxing stay.

I have been staying at this unique and sincere piece of Portugal since I am 14 years old. Bodyboarding tooked me there for the first time and for 15 years I used to return every year to compete at Praia Grande´s waves and enjoy the home and the family that make every trip an unforgetable one. My bodyboarding carrear stoped years ago, but as people says : ¨ heart follows its way home¨, and I came back, now as a mother and as a doctorate student and lived in one of the beautiful apartments for almost four months. The gardens, the views, the lavender smell in the mornings and the feeling of being inside a novel are inpregnated in myself. I know this review might sound too personal, but I have to be sincere about the uniqueness that I have found here. Maybe, in your own way, you will find yours...

We stayed with Isabel and her family for a week in March 2015. They were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. We were traveling with our 6 months old daughter, and we got a baby cot for free and were allowed to use the kitchen to prepare baby food. Also we enjoyed sitting by the fire place downstairs in the evenings, when our daughter was already asleep. The breakfast was very good, we even got to enjoy eggs from their own chickens. The property is quite big and free to use for the guests, so we also had picknicks in the garden. The place is at a short drive to a lot of sights around Sintra, and a five minute walk to the beach.
