Hard to find initially. When finding it down an alleyway, it turned out we should have received an email with front door codes and room Entry codes. Did not happen. Stood Out in sun trying to call our provider and then Amer express whom we had paid through. Luckily a guest came out on his way outside and advised us we had to go across the street to Hotel Oslo for entry codes. We had not received any notification of this. Staff at Hotel Oslo reception were very nice and apologetic. Also very informative and suggested we came back there after settling in to get the low down on everything. After getting in. Disappointed. I know the name is Vintage Lofts. But…. It was clean. Very basic. We would not return here or recommend this place. Kitchen had MFD wood pretending to be cabinet doors. I could go on.

We arrived by train and stayed here for 2 nights as part of an 18 night tour of Northern Portugal. We were sent details and entry codes by email were able to access the building and apartment ourselves, so never saw any staff during our stay. We had apartment 3 on the first floor and at first we thought it was okay plenty of space and storage and good kitchen area. All the windows/ french doors looked out onto a central decked courtyard area with a couple of seats so the only views were of a small portion of sky. This seemed okay even though the apartment was a little dark and then much later we realised that everyone in the building can access this courtyard and it is used by smokers, which we are not. We were unfortunate that an insomniac chain smoker was staying at the time and as our bedroom window opened directly onto the courtyard we were woken during the night by a security light coming on and someone sitting outside our room coughing and smoking. Add to this the fact that the wooden floor outside in the corridor for the other apartments is very noisy and all the doors have glass panels above them letting in corridor light and we did not have very much sleep. We would have asked to change but decided to tough it out due to the amount of unpacking and packing we had to do during our tour and the fact that we were only there 2 nights. I am sure if you have an apartment overlooking the street you would be okay as the apartments are good value and superb location and well appointed, so unless you must have outside space or are a smoker do not get apartment 3.

Stayed here three nights whilst visiting Coimbra. Booked the duplex but were upgraded to the suite. Fantastic clean and very large apartment. Fully equipped kitchen if you need it. Eclectic furniture and wall decoration add to the charm. Staff at hotel Oslo where you check in and out were friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic walking distance to all the major buildings etc, a few hundred yards from great restaurant choice. Brilliant

Great little apartments. Very clean with good service for towels and cleaning. Clever design for the small space and lots of vintage touches. Stayed 4 nights and the location was perfect. It made it very easy visit the tourist sites and go out at night. Other reviews have mentioned the noise and it was true but kinda what you expect in a city. Would recommend and go back.

Pros: - good central location - large apartment - modern kitchen - guide to the area provided - PIN codes for doors avoid the hassle of keys
Cons: - very noisy floors (it is an old building) - motion sensor lights hall within the apartment > trying to be quiet in the middle of the night and you can still wake up the others in the apartment - motion sensor lights in main hallway to all apartments plus transom windows over the door to the apartment and door to the bedroom, mean that neighbors returning home late at night can disturb your sleep with sudden light coming into the room.

Check in at Hotel Oslo was quick and efficient. Staff there will walk you one block to lofts. Keyless access is nice. Seems very secure. Our loft had a small sitting area with a "kitchen" hidden in cabinets. But you had sink, fridge, microwave and small cooktop....everything needed to cook simple meals and eat in. The bathroom is on this level and a small space for the bed is up one more flight of stairs. There is a common area that is shared by the six tenants and a tiny enclosed courtyard. There are no eye-level windows, so you do feel like being in a cell block, but there is much natural light. Excellent free wi-fi. Great location. Pedestrian area with plazas and restaurants blocks away. Overall, the plus outweighs the quirks.

At first sight a bit strange street, but very well located for all must sees, very nicely decorated apartments. Well organised check in. Garage exit at 10 meters of entrance when you arrive with the car.

We were in Coimbra for one night and we selected these apartments based on Tripadvisor references. The apartments are well kept, cosy and spotless clean, and in a central location, in front of the railway station. However, they are overpriced for what they offer. In particular, a few aspects would require some improvement, in our opinion: 1) no human the reception at any hour of the day; you receive two numeric codes, and should you need anything, please go to Hotel Oslo (50 mt away); we only met two very kind housekeepers upon our arrival; 2) noise - the rooms are located in a side street and should be supposedly quiet; however, in the middle of the night (from 4:00 am to 5:00 am approximately) a great noise ensued from the house (as if someone was moving the forniture or similar) - making it impossible to sleep; 3) two flights of stairs with no elevator; 4) no chances whatsoever to have breakfast, even at additional costs. Of course this is not expected in apts, but many do it. Therefore, our stay was pleasurable, but I would give it a 7 out of 10.

These apartments are in the old part of Coimbra, in a former clothing factory, near the river and the train station, as well as the Oslo Hotel, that is managing this accomadation. Access to the building is from a small side street and just a few steps away from the nearest parking garage, that will be suggest by the renters at a calendar day fee of € 9.- The 3 "Loft" units #4, 5 & 6 are on one side of the building, where as the 2 one bedroom "studio" units #1 & 2 as well as the larger "XL family" unit #3 is on the other side. Our one bedroom unite #2 has a separate living/kitchen area with a small kitchenette with a 2 hot plates stove, a fridge and kitchen equipment. In this living space, there is also a 28" flatscreen TV. The bedroom next door has a closet with hangers and shelves and a safe. On one side of the bed is a closet style door, leading into the small bathroom with a nice shower cubicle, a toilet and sink. The layout and style of the floor plan of these units will not be all that soundproof to your next door neighbors. Some earplugs can be handy.
