We stayed here for one week in November 2016 and it was a great location! You are inside a fort by the sea and very quiet and peaceful. It was easy to walk to restaurants and drive around. The views where spectacular and the grounds where well cared for.

We visited the island of Terceira in the Azores for a week in November. A pousada is an historic building, in this case an old fortress on the sea, recreated as a hotel. It has lovely views of Monte Brazil and the Unesco world heritage town Angra do Heroismo. The rooms are attractive and comfortable, very friendly and capable staff,...

We recently stayed here as part of an Azores Getaway package. This property is an upgrade to the standard package and well worth it! Amazing opportunity to stay in a fortress with stunning views of the Atlantic ocean. The property was clean, and the rooms were very nice, clean, and reasonably sized. We were able to get our requested rooms...

We stayed a week at this hotel. We were beyond delighted with the location, views from our great room (but bed was FIRM), thrilled w the bidet, the staff, breakfast and overall service. We were so stoked we could walk everywhere. Bar wasn't very happening at the hotel, so we always grabbed wine from the grocery store (2-4 €) and...

We loved this hotel. Being an old fort made the hotel unique and added character. The rooms were clean, simple, and nice. However, the beds were uncomfortable. The location was perfect. Being right above the water provided excellent ocean views. Hotel was also close to restaurants, shops, churches, Mt. Brazil, botanical gardens. We would recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed here for spring break as part of a Azores Getaway package. The location is a nice walk from the city center but it was amazing. How often can you say that you got to stay in a historic fort? I liked that it was a small location and the staff was so friendly. I brought both of my...

The hotel is a fabulous blend of the old and new in a top notch location. The rooms are clean and modern with great bathrooms and most overlook the ocean and Monte Brasil. There is a restaurant and bar on the property. I would have given this 5 stars except for the fact that they need to get their act...

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of an Azores Getaway trip. The hotel is set inside a 16th century fortress, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Bay of Angra. We had a ground floor room, which was clean and quiet, and allowed a view of the sunrise every morning. There was free breakfast every morning, with fresh...

not only the history, but the location make this a fantastic place to stay. the rooms are nice, the views are amazing. be prepared to walk "Uphill", every road eventually turns uphill, but you are really close to town and sunsets and sunrises here are fantastic.

The Pousada de Sao Sebastiao is and exceptional hotel. I have rarely seen such a helpful, friendly staff. From accommodating our room request before arriving to helping figure out a parking ticket (with accumulated fines from previous offenders!) and then paying if for me and taking time to orient us to the island, everyone at the Pousada was outstanding. The...
