We booked through Azores Getaway. Found it on TravelZoo and took a chance (100% non-refundable). It was very economical and a memorable experience. Hotel Cruzeiro is very new and clean, staff are amazing, hotel tries to be environmental sustainable (plastic cups in the room, room cleaning, towel replacement only if you want, you can drink from the tap.) A perfect location - just a short walk from the centre of town, across from a small park and the local firehall/police/EMS. The grocery store (supermercado guardita) is up the road (out the door, look left) and you can buy food, snacks and drinks to keep in your room. (The bread is heavenly and we heard they don't process their flour so safe for gluten intolerance) The restaurant in the hotel is open for inclusive breakfast 7 - 10am. Closed otherwise which was strange. No lunch/dinner service. The bar is nice, expensive compared to other places in town. For the most part this hotel is not accessible. There's an elevator but doors are narrow, rooms are small. Almost everyone speaks English, they are proud of Terceira and will offer help. Would definitely recommend this place/city and would return.…
Pretty nice & clean hotel! Friendly staffs! Close to city centre and walking distance to all restaurants & cafes!2 minutes walk to their beautiful city garden! walk up to get the whole island view, gorgeous! Hotel breakfast wasn't bad!You can request for fried eggs or boiled eggs if you don't like the scramble eggs they served every morning! And order for a cappuccino too! Enjoyed our stay there, the only downside was, they didn't have a swimming pool or hot tub! Which I love swimming and relax in a hot tub! Overall good!!
We stayed at Hotel Cruzeiro for a week. Very nicely-decorated rooms, clean and comfortable. The staff, without exception, were helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet has something for all tastes: eggs, sausage/bacon, beans, fresh breads, cheese, sliced meat, homemade jams, cereal, coffee (try it with the hot milk), juices, tea. There is a bar that is open in the evenings and they have a good selection of libations. The location is convenient: less than a 5-minute walk (downhill) to the centre of town. The Museum of Angra do Heroismo is around the corner, and very beautiful public gardens are just beyond the museum. Many restaurants, cafés, and snack bars within easy walking distance. A supermarket (Supermercado Guarita) is less than a 5-minute walk up the street, where you can buy wine/beer/pastries/deli food, etc. Our room had a bar-sized fridge (there are mini-bar items in the fridge, but you can ask to have them moved/removed), a kettle, a safe, free wifi, a TV with many channels, a long desk with a chair, lots of closet space, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Our only complaints about the room were: 1) the shower floor didn't seem to slope toward the drain, so water flowed onto the bathroom floor; we asked for an extra towel to use as a dam to keep the water in the shower area; and 2) the toilet was installed too close to the shower wall, which made it impossible to sit on it in a normal position. It may have been just our room (128) because we didn't hear anybody else commenting on their toilet. Check-in time is 2pm and there doesn't seem to be much chance of getting in earlier if the hotel is busy. There is a luggage storage room for incoming or outgoing guests. Overall, good value for money (we booked through Azores Getaways) and we would definitely stay here again.…
Great place to stay, accessible to many places. staff pleasant and helpful A full restaurant for convenience would have been better. Continental Breakfast was included and the only meal at this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel is centrally located and easily accessible by foot and car. Free parking available on site. The standard double room had a king-sized bed, spacious bathroom and ample closet space. The front desk personnel (Christine, Joana, Rodrigo, Alena) were amazing! They happily answered all of our questions, recommended great restaurants and made reservations for us. We had an issue with our safe and the problem was taken care of the following day. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with many choices (Thanks Daniela!) We found two wash and dry laundromats: Lavandaria Crida (walk, 2.75 €/kg) and 5 a sec (drive, 3.75 €/kg) - came in handy following our muddy hike through Misterios Negros. The Supermercado Guarita is down the street (approx. 500 m). Great for snacks and drinks. There are two farmacias within walking distance. The Angra do Heroísmo Museum is a 5 minute walk behind the hotel. Worth a visit. (2 € for adults, 1€ for seniors) We will stay here again when we return for our next visit.…
