I didn’t actually stay at the hotel, I ate at the restaurant. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The food was good and our entry was particularly good. But the service was terrible. If I needed something I would have to ask multiple times and even then wouldn’t get it. I ordered a ½ bottle of wine and they brought a whole bottle telling they had no ½ bottles, but then I saw half bottles on other tables. And the bottle they brought me was rather expensive….without asking first if I wanted a whole bottle. Good food can be spoiled by lousy service and such was the case at Beira Mar.

We enjoyed our stay here, This is a great part of town, near the beach and local restaurants. The view of Monte Brazil from here is most impressive, The rooms in this hotel are fairly small and the elevator is slow. The serve yourself breakfast is excellent.

The hotel has an excellent location with views of the beach from the room, but it does not have parking although we were able to park outside the door every day. The first night we arrived very late and the person at the reception gave us his parking at the door for us, it was an unexpected detail!
Cleaning and breakfast was quite good. On the other hand, the rooms need to be modernized

Restaurant visit only, for the freshest seafood you could possibly have. The boats come in just down the peirce, and then each dish is made to your liking. Try the limpets (lapas) and also the calamari. The wait staff were very helpful in assisting my travel companions pick just the right meals.

Comfortable hotel for business/business travel.
Service with a lot of sympathy and availability. Remarkable concern for the well-being of guests from the moment of the Reservation until the check out.
Good location. Very nice view.
Breakfast with little offer / variety.

Whoever called it a hovel wasn't joking. Definitely great location in Angra do Heroísmo, but terrible hotel. Uncertain cleanliness, poor breakfast, staff annoyed by customers. Old structure. I don't normally do reviews, but I had to to avoid others having the same experience as me.

Great beachfront hotel. Unpretentious, simple and cousy. In need of some refurbishing, yes, but I give it a '4' due to its location, breakfast quality, variety, as well as overall friendliness of staff. (though the bellboy looks like a 'zombie' half the time. Nevertheless, he gets the job done!!:P) Not only can you go for a swim first thing in the morning (or afternoon,or..anytime!!?) but you can also go for a run by the beach: there's a pier and, if you are an experient runner, try the steep road to the castle, it's lovely.

Terceira is a lovely Island, even though its Turism industry is not very well developed..I suggest going to 'Biscoitos', a small natural pool resort in the North. You won't regret it. Try the pastry by the pools, going down the road to your right, second stall I believe. Very nice lady and husband selling brilliant milk 'queijadas' and beans 'queijadas'. If you see a big pot, it's corn on a cob! (a 'must have' for me)

This beachfront hotel lives up to its 4 star status. Pleasant modern rooms including a mini-fridge and kettle, clean bathrooms, a great breakfast -- all is as it should be. The location is great for exploring Angra do Heroismo on foot, though difficult to reach by car (streets are narrow and many are one-way). However, be warned, on Saturday, the hotel was very smoky due to the bar downstairs...

We ended up dining here by accident, as we were looking for the Beira Mar in Sao Mateus, but it was a happy accident. We enjoyed a delicious meal from start to finish, accompanied by very good local wines. This was all made possible by a number of wait staff who helped us navigate the menu and wine list. Not to be missed are the seafood soup, served in a bread bowl, the octopus entree and the pineapple mousse for dessert.
