Nicely located high up in the city. Had a small balcony overlooking the hotel pool (the hotel also has an indoor pool for rainy days). The room is clearly overfurnished when for some reason you cram an armchair and a table between the double bed and the window. If you have the bed closest to the window, it takes a certain amount of flexibility to pass these furniture. A swampy and boring carpeted floor is lying on the floor. The hotel has a good location (10 minutes walk from the center of Ponta Delgada) and has a nice internal car park. The room we were assigned (206) was large with a large balcony overlooking the sea. The room is stocked with 3 Dolce Gusto coffee pods every day and there is a coffee machine. Outdoor pool is not large and goes into shade at 5pm, indoor pool is not large and is useful in case of bad weather. Beach towels to be reviewed both in terms of size and sponge used, same goes for those in the room. Breakfast inadequate in both variety and quality. Sauna (divided between women and men) small and sometimes turned off (you have to go to reception to ask to turn it on and then wait half an hour). Turkish bath turned off to be turned on like the sauna but not working (steam was completely missing. Hall floor to be redone. Overall a good hotel but to be a 4 star it needs more.

It's a good hotel, spacious rooms with a good view over Ponta Delgada. Breakfast has enough variety, although the breakfast room is sometimes small for so many people. Sometimes it feels like a hurricane has passed through the breakfast room and almost everything is missing. But the (few) staff in the room try to replace everything quickly so that nothing is missing. The hotel's elevators make anyone's patience difficult. Private parking is always a bonus in a place where parking is all paid.

The Park Hotel is a great starting point for tours of the island of São Miguel. But even if you don't want to travel by bus or car, the location is great, as you can get to the beautiful old town in about ten minutes and then to the beach promenade a little later.
The friendly staff at reception gave us a clean, large room that was past its best but was OK. The Park Hotel also scored points with its well-maintained indoor pool. There is a second pool outside, which we were unable to use due to the rather cool temperatures in February. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't leave a lasting impression - you can't expect that given the good prices: we had breakfast and dinner as a buffet, which was more geared towards mass tourists.
But we weren't here to eat, but to "conquer" the island from the hotel: half-day trips around the island of São Miguel are highly recommended: the Lagoa do Fogo, Caldeira Velha and Ribeira Grande are really beautiful, as is a visit to Sete Cidades, Vista do Rei and the Mata do Canário. The Furnas Lake and the Terra Nostra Gardens are also worth a visit. If you then pass the pineapple plantation or the Chá Gorreana tea growing area (probably the only tea plantation in Europe), you feel like you are in the subtropics.

I have a good experience with the hotel, just because I had made our reservation quite late, and our room got upgraded without additional fees, thus, the experience of the room was great with the view to the ocean and the airport on the top floor with a huge balcony. I am very satisfied with the cleaning as well. The location is great, close to the old city and the mall. It has a large private parking spot too. However, the building is old and it is visible on the carpet, walls and mainly on the slow elevators. The indoor pools are not heated well, especially the jacuzzi, it almost felt cold to sit in. The stairs to the pool have not been fixed, even though I read several complains about it long time ago. My greatest disappointment was the breakfast. For this price, I expected larger variety and better quality of food. Instead, we got some very basic breakfast options without any taste and joy. Lack of selection of cold cuts, pastries and vegetables. In other hotels, for this price, the chef makes fresh omlettes and pancakes in front of us. Overall experience was nice, but for the price, I expected better, where they put effort in the services.

Hotel nice and well situated. Locals very helpful and restaurants reasonably priced(meal for three with alcohol and deserts around £60)
However at the moment while still here there are unfortunately around 60/70 scouts with another 6/7 or so adults. Because they move as a group this massively impacts on other residents.
At breakfast each morning it is hard to get a table between around 7:45 and 8:30, a pain if you have an excursion and need to eat at that time.
In addition the outdoor pool is rammed from 4pm onwards. Can use the indoor one but it’s really hot.
I rarely complain about anything but in this case after simply mentioning this to a receptionist his response was very poor. I asked how long they are staying for and he would not tell me. Need to know so I can plan my family’s time around this. He also just kept shrugging his shoulders when I said about the impact of soo many people moving as one group.
The scouts themselves are fairly well behaved just a shame the hotel hasn’t managed this better. Ie separate room for them at breakfast, set pool time in advance so families can plan around it, etc and also trained their staff in just a tiny bit of empathy

At best this hotel is a 3 star. I spent a week with my husband & 2 children in this hotel..I have stayed in 4 star hotels all over the world & the standard of this hotel is no where near what it should be. The building itself & hotel front is grey, grotty & dull. Seriously even a few potted flowers would brighten up the entrance. I feel every aspect of this hotel is cheaply done. The reception area is bland & uninviting. The cheap wicker furniture is dreadful. Might I add the receptionists weren’t exactly over friendly or helpful. I expected a lot better. The lifts seem to take forever in this hotel. The rooms are dreadful, brown dirty carpet, seriously I can’t remember the last time I came across carpet in a hotel room. The bathroom was like something from the 1970’s. I was a bit disgusted that there wasn’t any tea/coffee making facilities, plus water was not replenished daily. Oh my god the towels that were given out for the pool, I wouldn’t dry my dog in them, they were almost falling apart. The breakfast was inadequate, no apple juice, first time ever we had to set my own table for breakfast in a hotel. The fried food was completely dried up, lack of cereal & fruit. The dining staff walked around with very serious faces, I found them quite unfriendly. The gym, not quite sure you could call it an exercise area with so few machines. The food in the bar was actually quite nice & the guy with the glasses that works in the bar(didn’t get his name) was about the best thing this hotel has. He was very helpful & informative about the area. This hotel needs huge investment to bring it to a realistic 4 star standard..I love Ponta Delgada, such a lovely place, I would hope to return some time. I certainly will not stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is very centrally located downtown making it easy to walk to the water, restaurants and other locations in Ponta Delgada. The buffet breakfast is plentiful with fruit, lunch meats, eggs, simple pastries and a few veggies. The beds are clean but very firm. You will have incredible views from your room. The pool is a delightful place to hang out during the day as well as if you arrive before check-in time. The hotel will hold your luggage so you can explore as well as let you take advantage of the amenities while your room is being set up.

This is truly a wonderful hotel which is walking distance to everything in the town of Sao Miguel. As well as a gorgeous indoor heated pool and hot tub, there is also a great outdoor pool with loungers to sit on, when the sun is shining, or to have a meal by the pool. The rooms are large and comfortable, and my room had a huge balcony with a gorgeous view of the sea beyond the town. Most of all, the reception staff were delightfully welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They booked tours for us, called taxis and had a steady supply of pool towels, as well as making suggestions re the best places to visit. The island of course is stunning and I would definitely return to this hotel on my next trip! Many thanks to all the amazing staff at this lovely hotel which was also very reasonably priced!

I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a tour.
The hotel is in a very central location, with easy walking to restaurants, attractions etc. It’s also very clean and has lots of amenities. The bar also offers a smaller menu for lunch and supper . There is a larger restaurant as well.
The Hotel staff, particularly the front desk were very accommodating with helping us solve some travel issues.
