We recently enjoyed our four days at this small hotel along with several other couples on an extended Azores tour. Except for spotty Wi-Fi and the lack of any workout facilities this hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast had lots of variety and a coffee machine with numerous options including decaf. We had two good and reasonably priced dinners while... More

Horta is a tricky city to navigate for those who aren't used to the narrow and one-way streets in much of rural or old Europe. The Hotel Horta is pretty easy to find and leaves you in a good location to navigate the city. On our Azores vacation, we were delighted to stay in the Hotel Horta. Our room was... More

Hotel Horta is quiet, clean, and well-staffed. Even though it is up the hill from downtown, if you walk out the front door and turn left, the sloop is very manageable. For those with good walking legs, a right turn is quick and steep. The front desk is able to book a tour of Pico island....a must see if you... More

Reviews seem consistent with others. Friendly staff at the front desk. Weak Wifi signal in rooms. Great view of Pico Island. Location close in proximity to airport, harbour, restaurants and shopping - a bit further to supermarket. Breakfast options were pretty good. Kettle was available if requested for hot water. Updates needed: - Fridge in room - Hair dryer -... More

Hotel was booked as part of a tour package but I would return. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, especially Rui at the front desk. Breakfast was excellent and rooms clean and comfortable. Newly installed AC system worked perfectly. View from room was outstanding seeing the harbor and Pico Island. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. A good choice for our... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as part of an Azore Getaways package. It's about a 15 minute ride from the airport and about a 5 minute walk from the main area of the city. Great views from upper floor room balconies, a large common area near the reception area and also from dining room. The front desk... More

Let's start with the positives! Our good sized room had a beautiful view of Pico island, a nice balcony, beautiful wood accents, and plenty of storage space. Breakfasts were very delicious with a good selection of hot and cold foods and were enjoyed in a pretty dining room. Things that need to be improved to bring Horta Hotel up to... More

We are at the Hotel Horta this week. After reading the reviews I was concerned about this stay but have been pleasantly surprised. The rooms are bright and ocean view with balconies. The pool is still open and as long as you don't mind chilly water it is great. The breakfast is standard but fresh and plentiful. Hot and cold... More

Great location on a hill over City centre and harbour and facing the Pico mountain at next Island (Pico) the highest Mountain of Portugal, 2380 meters. Looks very much out of fashion but the rooms are clean, swimming pool well appointed and friendly staff. Breakfast is standard, no highlights. Rented car is advisable to visit Faial and all the other... More

When we arrived, we were shown to the darkest room we'd ever seen. Downstairs, looking a wall, with hardly any light coming in. The room also had a musty, mildewy smell to it. Very nasty. After we asked for another room, we were told we could have an upstairs room for 50 euro's extra (for 2 nights). Although we thought... More
