I can highly recommend staying with James and Claudia as you will most likely meet the most welcoming hosts on Faial island. We were traveling with a small baby and their place is a great fit for young families and children. We loved the banana garden, the chickens and I think the distance to the ferry cannot be beaten by... More

Thank you for taking time to write about your experience at Banana Manor. It's a great pleasure to hear that you liked what we have to offer. We certainly enjoyed having you as our guests. It is wonderful to see that couples with young children travel all the way to the Azores. We will always try our best to help... More

From the minute we arrived at the Banana Manor, we felt as if we had stumbled into the home away from home we never knew we had. The manor's positive, laidback vibe starts with its welcoming hosts Claudia and James and extends to the expansive and lush gardens in the backyard. Our young children -- aged 5 and 3 --... More

Thanks for choosing Banana Manor for your time in Faial. It was such a pleasure to host you. Lovely that you all enjoyed relaxing and playing at our house and in our garden :-) I hope you had a safe trip home and you and your kids will always remember the beautiful Azores. More

We needed a place in Horta for one night before flying back home and we looked for a hotel but were not satisfied. Then, we thought about Airbnb and we decided to try this system for the first time. Banana Manor is perfectly situated in Horta and is not too expensive. Everything is clean and well-organised. We thank James and... More

Lovely way to chill out - sitting in the sun, overlooking the banana plantation. Immaculately clean, relaxed accommodation, close to the waterfront and amenities. Only negative was the lack of wi-fi. Enjoyed it immensely and will definitely return.

My wife, our little son (11 months) and me had a wonderful week at the Banana Manor Guesthouse in Horta. Claudia and James, our hosts, did everything to make us feel comfortable. We really appreciated their help and support and it was always nice to talk to them about their lives and experiences on Faial island. They provided a baby... More

In light of 'hostel' style accommodations, the Banana Manor was above average. Two blocks off the waterfront (it's views and cafe's), two blocks from the California Pizza restaurant (good pizza), across the street from a small buffet restaurant. Lovely backyard inclined through the banana trees, past the chickens, to a rock wall from which the view of the harbor and... More

We booked two days with James, Claudia and Tiago and stayed one more. Their huge and modern feeling guest house is a less than 5 min walk from the Ferry in a quiet street. It is a 10 min Walk to the core of the city and 20 min tp Peters café. Our first room with (2) shared bathroom was... More

This is a charming basis for visiting Faial and Horta. The hosts James and Claudia took good care of us, and we enjoyed delicious bananas fresh from their big and lush garden. The house was newly renovated and well kept. Recommended.

We had a great stay, I only regret it was so short. The hosts are wonderful people, very friendly with lots of knowledge about the island. Our kids made friends with their son right away :) House is in a great location, short walk away from the harbor and the ferry terminal.

Banana Manor is pleasantly located close to a canal, a 15th century church, and the Pico ferry terminal. Spacious, incredibly clean rooms with high ceilings, breakfast and kitchen facilities at our disposal, and a bathroom with a sizable tub, ideal for a soak after a long hike around Faial's caldeira. The proprietress, Claudia, was energetic, upbeat, and knowledgeable, and her... More
