The diving expirience was very good for a fresh diver. They tought me the basics and everything i needed to know to dive. We spent 2 hours on land learning the rules and setting up everything, and 2 hours in the water diving and practicing. I went there alone, but i think this is a good group activity as well. They covered transport from and to the beach. The diving facility was quite ceantral. They spoke good english, and they responded quick when i called them. The pricing was quite expensive, 90£ for one person. The website has not updated its prices, i was only supposed to pay 80£. They only took cash and not card. I was only here for the diving experience, not to sleepover.
You will have trouble deciding what's better - scuba diving or accommodation. Host is lovely and rooms are cosy, clean and comfy. Diving is breathtaking (ha! pun intented), and the stuff you'll see underwater cannot be described by words. Cristóvão is an amazing instructor and he will take care of every detail. Would recommend to anyone regardless of age or anything. Dress up because Sagres gets really windy at night, so dont be stupid like me and bring only swimming suits and t-shirts.
My friend and I spent a night at chris’ guesthouse and we had a really nice stay. The place is very clean and cozy. You can expect it exactly like in the pictures. Thank Chris see you next time we are around!
We found this place because of the dive center on site. We stayed in one of the rooms with ensuite bathroom. The room was pleasant, the bed comfortable and everything was spotless. Breakfast was good. We also went diving with them. Cristovão was not only a great guide but also a very fun person to spend the day with. We expressed an interest in macro life and that's what he gave us! We think we saw more than 20 different kinds of nudibraches and were completely amazed with the variety. The two dive sites were great. We will be back for sure!
Huge thanks to Chris & the wonderful Pura Vida dive team! Our 14 year old son passed his SSI SCUBA Dive level 1 qualification, over 4 days. The training was professional, patient, very thorough and reassuring. My husband & I also had an Open Water dive, I was very nervous but Chris was patient & confidence giving so I conquered my fears & am thrilled to have had the experience. We will definitely be back, can’t praise this team highly enough. Also to add that they are all ‘ambassadors of the sea’, hugely respectful of the marine environment.
Stayed in the Studio, comfortable bed, good shower and nice small kitchen. As good and better than any hotel/apartment in the area.If you turn left outside the hostel you can walk to Martinhal beach in a few minutes.
It was my first time diving, the instructions that the divemaster gave me were bad, and because of it, i felt really sick during and after the dive. The worst was that he touched and grabbed everything he could under the sea. That disturbs marine life and is a unnaceptable behaviour, specially from someone that should teach us to respect the oceans.
Absolutely loved it. There is no place like home and it was like it. Frendly owner and stuff, tasty brekfasts, people, piano, patio, sun.... in this very moment i'm planning the next time 😊 Hope there will be place for me 😉
Everything in here was fantastic. Good localisation, nice staff and good vibes. The dorms are clean and big enough. The only think would be the lack of bathroom. Only one inside and the other one outside next to the dive shop. The dive shop is as well very nice and I had a good time diving with them
Great experience with Pura Vida. Had a really nice contact with them before by mail, they replied really fast and made everything possible is asked for. My friend did a DSD had loved it! Our diving instructor João was also really nice and helpful. Can really recommend this place when you want to dive. Also the captain also named João was really fun and helpful!
