A modern (circa 20 year old?) Pousada on a heathland/clifftop location with great ocean views. Pleasant spacious bedroom and attractive public rooms. The windswept location looked a bit (unnecessarily?) barren, with gravel areas needing some tidying/finishing. A very pleasant 2 night stopover in a quiet area of the Algarve. We stayed using the 1st 2 vouchers of our 5nt Golden... More

Dear Guest, Pousada de Sagres was opened in 1960, being constantly improved, and is located on the cliff-top overlooking Sagres fort and the lighthouse of Cape St Vicent. Thank you for your remarks on your bedroom, the staff, the common areas and the breakfast selection. We are very pleased you had a nice stay at Pousada de Sagres and we... More

Sagres is a sleepy place and this is a sleepy hotel for those who want simplicity and calm on the edge of the Atlantic. When I left behind some clothes, the desk staff were kind enough to send them on to London right away. Service like that is rare these days. Much appreciated.

We first had a rather ho-hum room, and my wife asked to see options. Our desk clerk was a wonderful young man, and when he found out it was a special anniversary for us, I think he found a room that might have been a slight upgrade. For this reason he shall remain anonymous, since we didn't get charged extra.... More

Dear Guest, We are delighted to hear that you have enjoyed Pousada do Infante. Your kind remarks about the dining and sitting rooms’ atmosphere will certainly help others when deciding where to stay. It is true that Sagres is very calm but we hope you’ll have the opportunity to explore Vila do Bispo down the road. We inform that when... More

The guidebooks still refer to Sagres as a fishing village but it is really a bustling small town.Cape St. Vincent is a few kilometres away with its steep cliffs and lighthouse. The Pousada is located on a headlland just outside Sagres (the walk in is short and easy). You pay more for sea views but it is worth it to... More

We spent a week at the Pousada in Sagres over Christmas and had a most enjoyable and restful break. The reception staff and the women in the restaurant were most friendly and professional. The breakfasts had a wide choice of dishes and we ate each night in the pousada as we were impressed by the quality and value of the... More

I was very disappointed with this pousada. The welcome was unfriendly and the feel of the place was very cold. The rooms were clean with nice beds, but it was just like another hotel. The breakfast was entirely a buffet, which for the price, was quite surprising and disappointing. I would have thought they would have made eggs and such... More

The hotel faces the sea on top of a hill with the harbour at the left and Mareta Beach on the right side. We bought a last minute fee to a standard room from 26 to 29 July: the 228. Liked: - the room view - room balcony with 2 chairs and a table. - staff (they have a competition... More

Sagres is a cool, a very cool town, full of Ripcurl-Quiksilver-Burton-You-Name-It-Surfer-Kids. This clientele has probably saved the town from being abandoned, because apart from being a surfers’ destination, it does not offer a lot. Well, it is very close to the South-Western-most point of Europe and it has an old fortress, but no picturesque town centre or authentic restaurants. However,... More

We stayed at this Pousada for two nights, though we had originally booked in for three. While the building is beautiful, and our room was comfortable with a wonderful view of the sea, we found there wasn't enough to see or do in that area for us to spend three nights. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant because the... More

The rooms are... ugly. And expensive! That said they are comfortable, the bed was excellent. The staff is helpful and professional too. The view from the swimming pool and the restaurant is awesome. But you really pay too much for an ugly room without charm.
