Here now and having a great time. The hotel is very clean and beautiful. Large pool and two smaller ones. Pretty open spaces with palm trees and flowers. Staff have been excellent, especially Vera on reception who was such a joy and so informative when we arrived and when booking a tour. Every hotel should have someone like her, so friendly. The guy at the bar was also very friendly. This is a small quiet but well presented hotel. It has a small bar area and a small restaurant, both of which are extremely well decorated and comfortable. We are self catering but have eaten breakfast and dinner at the hotel on one occasion. The food is buffet style, excellent quality and value for money. Afternoon happy hour is a boost when around the pool. We have a modern spacious room with a balcony over looking the large pool. It is very comfortable and has everything you need. This is a very quiet hotel, just what we were looking for. It is only a 20 minute walk into town if you want more hustle and bustle. Old Lagos is wonderful with an array of bars and restaurants. There are restaurants closer to the hotel and a small supermarket near by. Local beaches are stunning with lots of small coves that are only accessible by paths and the newly installed boardwalks. Would definitely return, a real gem of a place.

I prefer modern rooms so I booked the new hotel building next to the pool. The rooms are spatious, pretty and the views fantastic. Good size balcony, but the chairs weren't so comfortable. Pool is huge and the sun beds around it very nice. We had breakfast the first morning and it was good, but we decided to have a simple breakfast in our room the rest of our stay. We also had a buffet dinner one evening and it was OK, prefer to go out and have a la carte. The location is in a luxurious residential area with walking distance to many beaches and to get to the old town you can take the bus. They don't run in the evening, though, and there are hardly any restaurants or shops within easy walking distance.

I had a great time at the Ancora Park Hotel in Lagos. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the hotel is absolutely stunning, pristine, and with a beautiful pool. It was a very friendly atmosphere, and the location is great. I would definitely return should I be in Lagos again. Thanks all, Katie

We stayed there for three nights. Bedroom is spacious but the bed was two simple beds along each other. Everything was really clean, but not a lot of inclusion (we had to buy our soap and sponge to wash dishes, no hairdryer, you need to pay 2 euros per day for the safe). Also, we had water leaking from the roof inside the appartment and a lot of our stuff was wet, so we had to change appartment with no compensation whatsoever.

We have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel. All the staff were so nice and helpful, particularly the 2 ladies who worked in the breakfast area and then moved on to the pool bar afterwards. Really recommend…should be more than 3 star……..

Very nice hotel, a bit outside city center. Beautiful room with a big terrass, nice beds and bathroom. A great swimmingpool. Friendly staff and helpful. The hotel restaurant is separate from the hotel, breakfast if not included in the room is around 10 euro per person, not the best but ok breakfast buffet. The guests are calm, usually couples. Walking distance to the best beaches in Algarve, ie Don Ana, etc. I would stay here again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is huge and so peaceful… we ate lunch most days at the hotel bar, the food was tasty and fresh. (Would especially recommend the pizza). The apartment we stayed in was a bit dated, but if it was modernised to match the hotel it would be spot on. However, all amenities met our needs during our week here and we’d definitely come back :)

I stayed for a week in the twin hotel room (cant comment on the adjoining apartments). This hotel is brand new and we were very impressed by the room. Everything was spotless and modern and the shower was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. This pool area is lovely, again spotless with new sun loungers and at all times of the day there were loungers available. The hotel undersells itself massively online and most pictures seem to be before the refurbishment. I am of the opinion that it is comparable to some of the nicer modern 4 star hotels I have stayed in in Portugal and Spain. There is about a 20 minute walk to the old town and to a choice of beaches. Taxi is €4. I didn't eat at all in the hotel as the reviews for this were poor but there is nice cocktails available from the bar during happy hour. (2 for 8€) The only minor things I could see for improvement - there is no shelfs or drawers in the room for clothes, just a rail in the wardrobe for hanging - you have to wear a tacky white wristband all the time with the hotel name on it which is annoying. I dont like advertising where I am staying when out and about. This could ve easily replaced with simple bracelets used by other hotels if it is required. All in all would definitely stay again and highly recommend

The hotel staff is the worst I've seen in a hotel in my life: no smiles, totally unfriendly, rude, gross and impolite. Zero empathy with guests requests. That's why the hotel is so cold and boring. Not to mention the impractical and awkward request of keeping a plastic bracelet during your whole stay! I don't recommend this hotel by any means! They will ruin your vacation! Stay away from this place!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Lagos for a week at Âncora Park, and it was a lovely experience! All the staff were amazing with us, showing so much care for their service and always so nice and welcoming. We stayed in a hotel room which I understand has been recently renovated along with pool area, restaurant and other amenities, so everything looked quite modern and was kept clean at all times! Even the WC by the pool and showers were immaculate at all times of day. The food and cocktails were ok for the price but if you fancy something better or more choice you can also easily walk or drive into Old Town Lagos and the Marina, since the hotel location is like a 2 min drive from there. The pool has to be the biggest and coolest we we ever saw in the Algarve! There is so much space that even when it's full of people using floaters and all, you still feel like you can swim at ease and not feel too close to others. All in all we think we may be staying here again if we come back to Lagos! Totally recommend!
