Detailed Reviews
Me and my boyfriend stayed in Lagos for a week at Âncora Park, and it was a lovely experience! All the staff were amazing with us, showing so much care for their service and always so nice and welcoming. We stayed in a hotel room which I understand has been recently renovated along with pool area, restaurant and other amenities, so everything looked quite modern and was kept clean at all times! Even the WC by the pool and showers were immaculate at all times of day. The food and cocktails were ok for the price but if you fancy something better or more choice you can also easily walk or drive into Old Town Lagos and the Marina, since the hotel location is like a 2 min drive from there.
The pool has to be the biggest and coolest we we ever saw in the Algarve! There is so much space that even when it's full of people using floaters and all, you still feel like you can swim at ease and not feel too close to others.
All in all we think we may be staying here again if we come back to Lagos! Totally recommend!

This rating should be a 5/5 if it were not for some obvious cost cutting which have impacted on the overall stay!
The rating should be 5/5 because of the modern spacious rooms, a huge pool and chilled atmosphere. The staff are very professional and welcoming. The bar does good coffee and the wide range of drinks are excellent! There is a happy hour between 1 and 4pm. The quiet location is a pleasant 20 minute walk to the town, beaches and cliff top walks or a 5 minute 5€ Uber/ taxi.
Most accommodations of this standard provide complimentary water, tea and coffee in the room which are replenished daily. There was no coffee or milk in the room and only 2 regular tea and green tea on arrival, we asked for more but were refused! The last thing we wanted to do was go to the supermarket.
Beds were made and towels replaced daily on request, except on Sundays!
Buffet breakfast was 14€ and certainly not worth it, unfortunately the restaurant/ bar lacked atmosphere and the resort clientele seemed to prefer to go elsewhere, I know we certainly did, the bar closed at 11pm and was not open to non residents.
Pool towels are provided with 20€ deposit refundable at the end of the stay- I have never encountered this before. Usually they are provided in the room and changed along with other towels. You had to change the towels in reception in front of the reception staff!

I stayed for a week in the twin hotel room (cant comment on the adjoining apartments). This hotel is brand new and we were very impressed by the room. Everything was spotless and modern and the shower was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. This pool area is lovely, again spotless with new sun loungers and at all times of the day there were loungers available.
The hotel undersells itself massively online and most pictures seem to be before the refurbishment. I am of the opinion that it is comparable to some of the nicer modern 4 star hotels I have stayed in in Portugal and Spain.
There is about a 20 minute walk to the old town and to a choice of beaches. Taxi is €4.
I didn't eat at all in the hotel as the reviews for this were poor but there is nice cocktails available from the bar during happy hour. (2 for 8€)
The only minor things I could see for improvement
- there is no shelfs or drawers in the room for clothes, just a rail in the wardrobe for hanging
- you have to wear a tacky white wristband all the time with the hotel name on it which is annoying. I dont like advertising where I am staying when out and about. This could ve easily replaced with simple bracelets used by other hotels if it is required.
All in all would definitely stay again and highly recommend

Booked an fully equipped apartment.
No washing machine, no dishwashing machine, no dishwashing liquid. A tiny electric stove were you can hardly cook with 2 pans/pots.
You feel soffocated by the outdated wood and tiles inside. Makes it look so dark. The complete opposite from what they advertise online.
If you want to hang out in the outside area you will find the motor of
The air-con straight blowing at you which is very annoying.
Warm water available but takes at least 3 minutes until it works. Such a waste of water.
At the bar you pay 2.80€ for a coffee which is not worth calling it a coffee. Brown water.
Small water bottle 2.50€. Usury at its best. Even though this is a “resort”, there is no justification for this price.
Hotel is clean though and the park is well maintained. The lobby is modern and the total opposite to
The apartment.
The pool area is beautiful and the staff at the reception is very very friendly and helpful.
Would appreciate some renovation as I would not
Recommend this accomodation at this stage, for that price. Such a shame.

Very nice hotel, a bit outside city center. Beautiful room with a big terrass, nice beds and bathroom. A great swimmingpool. Friendly staff and helpful. The hotel restaurant is separate from the hotel, breakfast if not included in the room is around 10 euro per person, not the best but ok breakfast buffet. The guests are calm, usually couples. Walking distance to the best beaches in Algarve, ie Don Ana, etc. I would stay here again.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed at Hotel Ancora Park for 5 nights and we were genuinely blown away by it. The pictures of the complex online don’t do it justice. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the villa itself is lovely and really good and spacious for a couple with a spacious bedroom, bathroom and kitchen and also a lovely patio area for meals along with a lovely small terrace. One thing we couldn’t get over was the size of the pool. It’s huge and even if there are other people at the pool at the same time as you it’s still plenty big for all to enjoy and have enough space in. The location of it is also absolutely perfect. It’s a 10 minute walk from restaurants on the outskirts of Lagos town and about a 20 minute walk from the town itself. It’s also within short walking distance of the beach and cliff walks which are very picturesque. Considering the price we paid (just over €330 between us for 5 nights) we could not think of a single negative aspect of our stay and will definitely be returning in the future

On arrival we were impressed at how quiet and peaceful the pool area was, extremely relaxing in every way (especially the cabana beds) the hotel grounds were clean and very well kept, the hotel room was more than enough for us, both clean and comfortable with a lovely view/ balcony over looking the pool area, also very clean. We were certainly very happy.
Some things that were disappointing…!
The bar area did lack a bit of atmosphere, although relaxing is what you want from a holiday some music to go along with HAPPYHOUR would have been nice. Nothing blaring but something would have been good to give it some atmosphere, which leads me on to the main points.
On day 2 I asked if it would be possible to have a couple of ice cubes to take to my room to have in my wine with the lunch I was preparing, (I had been given some on day 1) to be told by the bar man there was no ice, (which I thought was strange as we were coming to the lunch time happy hour period) this was at 12.40, I left it 20 minutes and asked at reception, they told me that they do not allow ice to be taken to the room and they are not allowed to give it away, I was only asking for 2 I said and I had been given some the day before, this should not of happened I was told in no uncertain terms, I was extremely disappointed and made that very clear.
The room on arrival had 3 tea bag and some small packets of sugar along with the kettle, there was no coffee or milk, so we bought coffee and milk from the supermarket but forgot the sugar, so again I asked at reception if we could possibly have some sugar, to be told exactly the same as the ice cubes, they are not allowed to give it to the guests!!!!! They will only give you enough for the first day !!
This really is bizarre to me and I have never ever come across this before, to me it felt like all they wanted was you to order coffee/drinks from them. We were more than happy to drink at the bar and have foods which we did for the first day, but really wanted to have a coffee on the beautiful balcony when we woke, this to me is very short sited and out of principle we didn’t buy food or drink from them again, this felt like penny pinching to the extreme.
This is such a shame as I really did think they had so many things right and as a regular visitor to the algarve certainly have never experienced this before.
Would I return I am still undecided, I would recommend this hotel, but don’t ask for ice or sugar😔

Great renovation since 2020, very nice and clean rooms! It is the second time I've stayed at Ancora Park, and really enjoyed it. It is a calm hotel, and the hotel guests quite respectful in what comes to noise.

Having visited this place a few times and fell in love with it,I've sold this to both fiends and family alike. So decided to book again for this year and thought wow all the apartments have been sold out? Further research indeed proved the opposite and that these are still available via their own website but at highly inflated prices? On a quick search £1800 a week, without flights etc, for a week?? We have never paid anywhere near this amount for two people with flights ,transfers, baggage and even car hire included? Why such a hike in prices?? Whilst I appreciate these have been upgraded it appears the costs are being recouped in a short a time as possible with such price hikes. I cannot fault my visits to date but this shocking news will ,I believe, price so many people, like ourselves and potential new travellers, off . We ourselves cannot justify paying such a huge price hike and have not only booked to go elsewhere but will, sadly, probably never go back ever again. Found it strange when trying to book with out usual travel company, and then, a few others that the apartments option didn't appear only the hotel rooms and now know why. These apartments are now known as Boutique apartments and the owners have certainly bumped the prices to justify the new names. Would I agree with the new prices? No. Upon reviewing again after a stay and paying the new prices , give a 5 star review? Sadly No. Because despite loving this place ,the new prices do not justify 5 stars and probably as a result my review would be high 3 . Why? Sorry but the upgrades made simply don't justify the price now being charged per apartment per week and therefore what last year offered value for money, this year certainly wouldn't.

Stayed for 6 nights. Great location to visit near by beaches and towns. We had a rental car during our stay (free parking), keep in mind it would be around a 20 minute walk/4 minute taxi to get into Lagos centre. Hotel has been modernised since some of the photos on here, it is now really well presented. The rooms are spacious and look great, service at reception is good, they were really helpful with booking trips. Best thing is the pool, huge, quiet and even in August pretty empty because it's so big. Would definitely stay here again.
