Pros: - Nice breakfast - Nice pool(s) Cons: - Rooms are not so nice. Heavy smell of mould. - Found ants in the bed. When telling the lady at the reception, we were accused of having sweets in the bed (we have had the room for 30 min). After that she gave us an even smaller room. Worst stay in Portugal during the trip.
Everything the hotel itself can control was perfect-- nice sized clean rooms, amazing breakfast, and excellent location only a short walk to Playa Dona Ana. We had a very strange experience with what the hotel can't control, which is other guests. We were put in one of the smaller buildings, that has less units and a smaller pool. From what we gathered, the only other guests in that building had been there longer and took our arrival as intrusion on their own private property. It was very uncomfortable anytime we tried to use the pool, as soon as they heard us out there they came rushing out, as if to stand their ground. I've never experienced this before, but again its not something I would hold against the hotel and property. Had we been staying longer we probably would've asked to be moved to a different building, but we were only there for 2 nights so we just dealt with it. Tips for the best experience: Playa Dona Ana is a very short walk from the property, but we actually liked Playa Do Camilo better. Its smaller, quieter and has better views from above and on the beach itself Things close rather early on Sunday night but we had awesome pizza and wine in the main buildings restaurant (also where breakfast is served) Don't miss out on the free breakfast, it's probably the best free breakfast i've ever had, with a ton of options and treats. If you go early enough you can also sit and eat poolside, but it fills up pretty quickly.…
We stayed here to be close to some of the coast's most beautiful shorelines/rock formations. We were 5 minutes from one beautiful beach, so amazingly sculpted by nature, and 7 minutes from another...and 15 from another. A great decision if hiking and nature--or sun bathing--interest you. This hotel offers rooms that are spacious and modern, with well-positioned AC plugs, good wifi, TV with English-speaking stations [as well as German, Italian, etc], and a balcony to enjoy the weather. Our room was in a separate building away from the main house, which meant we walked about half a block for breakfast which , since they offer a great deal of food, allowed us to walk it off! The rooms are very clean, and the cleaning staff does a good job. The shower was perfect, the beds were VERY comfortable, and they had good chairs in the room to sit in. We did NOT buy a deluxe room or apartment, yet had good amount of room. They had a mini-refrigerator with mini-bar in the room, and a coffee maker. Breakfast at the main house was included and was huge, including made-to-order scrambled eggs [a large helping[ and terrific bacon; lots of hot rolls, pasteis de nata; other baked goods; fruit; coffee, fruit juice, bottled water, etc. Best of all: the woman who cooks your breakfast is a delight to talk to, and begins your day with a smile and a stellar, kind personality. We visited in winter, so didn't use the pools, but they looked very inviting. The receiptionist helped us with our luggage and was also exceptionally nice. Everyone spoke English, though we did try our Beginner's Portuguese we had learned...but their English was far better than our Portuguese! There is about a 25 min walk into town. The hotel itself does serve dinner but, since it was winter, preferred reservations. Being on vacation, we weren't sure where we'd end up, so instead ate in the city, or at another hotel by the beach 5 mins away. There's a mini-grocery about a block away, and a larger supermarket 5 mins away. If you go into the city by cab, it's cheap [about 6 Euros] and the city is wonderful!…
This hotel is close to perfect. Staff is nice, rooms are huge, new, clean and comfy. The beds are very large and you've also got a nice large terrace! The Breakfast is very rich and you have a nice selection on the buffet. Also for dinner the restaurant is awesome. Very tasty food and very good service. There is literally nothing to complain about. I'd stay there again any time!
This hotel was in a great location (about 20 minute walk, 5 minute taxi to the old town and 10-15 minute walk to Ponda de Piedade), had nice staff and GREAT service, the room was beautiful, and perfect for families! What more could you ask for? I would 100% stay here again.
