Located in one of the most beautiful beaches on the Algarve coast, south of Portugal, is the Carvi Beach Hotel. Lagos, a city with more than 2.000 years of history, like many coastal towns in Portugal, Lagos has a special relation with the sea that is firmly established in history, culture, architecture and gastronomic patrimony.

Carvi Beach Hotel is celebrated for its prime location near beaches and town, along with its scenic rooftop restaurant and dedication to cleanliness, which guests frequently praise. While the rooms offer comfort and sea views, some visitors find them to be on the basic side with limited space.
The hotel's service is noted to be warm and professional; however, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests questioning hidden costs and the quality of dining options. The atmosphere within the hotel ranges from vibrant and joyful to somewhat basic in certain areas.

Fantastic find of a small and friendly hotel.
Location in Lagos is a 2 min walk from the beach but be aware of number of steps.
Hotel cleanliness 5 stars!
All hotel staff were friendly and helpful
Roof top restaurant Lucas great views with a fantastic selection of cocktails.
Food delicious and worth a visit.
Swimming pool roof top is small but good number of chairs and umbrellas cleaned everyday.
Location from centre of Lagos is a 15 minutes so be prepared for this but again worth a trip as quaint and number of varied restaurants and bars.

The room was clean, great location (20 min walk into main restaurant area), great rooftop views.
However upon entering our room and opening the curtains and balcony door we disturbed THOUSANDS of ants. They were spreading extremely quickly towards the bed. My partner went down to reception, it was 6pm (July 26) and the woman on reception shrugged and said she was working alone and would help whenever she can. We waited 20 minutes understanding she was alone and busy, but unable to unpack luggage or do anything as we didn’t want ants in our items. When going down to reception again to inform her they’re spreading across the room she just shrugged and didn’t offer urgent assistance saying there’s not much she can do, we even asked for a vacuum or mop to do it ourselves. She eventually came and mopped them up using a bug killing liquid so it must be a regular issue. The ants weren’t a huge issue to us, it was the terrible customer service that we weren’t impressed with.
Additionally it is very expensive for what it is. We booked a standard double which we knew the balcony wouldn’t have a view but I think we got the only room that faces a cement wall, very different to what the photos suggest and frustrating when paying the same price as the standard double rooms that atleast overlook the car park with a bigger balcony.
The included breakfast was great and gorgeous views. Although we get coffee at breakfast it would be great to have a kettle in the room as breakfast is not until 8am, meaning we couldn’t make a coffee in our room before heading out early for the day.
Overall the room itself was nice, housekeeping did a great job but I think you can find better for the price.

Unless you want the convenience of being right in town, you can't beat this location, literally perched above one of Portugal's most beautiful cove beaches. The entry to a hiking trail connecting the coastal beaches is across the street. The rooms may be small and simple but the whole place is spotless. The rooftop restaurant which is where the included breakfast is served can hold its own with anything in town but with an unbeatable view. I found all the staff pleasant and accommodating, particularly José in the restaurant. Despite his being a Toronto Maple Leafs fan!

This was a really great hotel. The location was outstanding just steps from the Ana Dona Ana beach and about 15 - 20 min walk to the square which literally has everything. This hotel is probably the cleanest hotel I have stayed in and I have travelled to many counties. The price was reasonable and it included breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel for value, location and cleanliness. The only drawback was the price of the lobster in their restaurant it was ridiculously high however my husband ordered the steak and it was very large portion and he said very tasty my vegetarian meal was a bit lacking but like I said overall I would come back to this hotel for sure.

+1
I would highly recommend Carvi Hotel for a vacation stay. It was exceptional service and my sister and I really enjoyed it. The side view of beach was lovely and balcony was nice and spacious. The room itself was lovely, comfy bed, spacious area, tv, nice bathroom etc The room also has a digital code safe which was handy to use. There is a gym on the premises also which was great. The staff were great, friendly and very accommodating from reception help, waiters and cleaners. The room was cleaned every day, Fresh sheets and towels. Beach towels can be provided at reception for a 10euro deposit, very handy. The food was great, the breakfast buffet was included in our stay which was amazing as such a selection and a lovely view while having it. We had lunch and dinner here also sometimes which was just as nice. Pool on site was great and a cafe nearby this for drinks, ice cream, lunch etc. Praia Dona Ana beach Is just in front of Carvi Hotel, restaurant here and ice cream shops. Small convenient store also 2 min walk from hotel All in all a great stay and for all the reasons above I’d recommend.

This is in the best location in Lagos! To the left is pria Dona, one of the most beautiful beaches in Lagos. Across the street is the entrance to the Ponta da Piedade. Old Town and the marina are about a twenty minute walk. There is a large rooftop pool and cafe that serves great drinks and the best octopus salad I had in Portugal. The entire hotel is immaculate. The front desk team was very courteous, professional and helpful. The breakfast at the rooftop restaurant Luca was very enjoyable with a large variety of hot and cold options, fresh fruits, meats, pastry etc. The room is very, very basic with hardly a shelf or space to put anything. If you want water you have to purchase it in lobby. Should have been provided each day. Our balcony was very large with fantastic views from our third floor room. They offer the tiniest bars of soap, shampoo and body wash. You can borrow beach towels for a refundable 10 euro deposit. They will also provide umbrellas. However I recommend that you go to the beach before the crowds and reserve lounge chairs and sunshade for 20 euros per day. Leave your towels, go for a hike and sunbathe the rest of the day! Perfect beach hotel!

There is absolutely zero sound proofing in this hotel. Being in your room involves listening to a cacophony of doors slamming, clip clopping footsteps echoing down the corridor, chairs scraping on floors and loud hallway conversations. Others have noted this. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.
The positive of this hotel is its location by an amazing beach, but it is a 20 minute walk into central Lagos and there isn’t that much around the hotel itself other than the beach and a few cafes.
Breakfast is OK, not stellar. No hotel parking but free parking outside, if you can nab a spot, which will be unlikely during the day time.

Since my first visit I keep coming back here, it was my third time round and will probably return again.
The beds are SO comfortable, we felt like we were in a cloud every morning! And the rooms were really clean with a coffee machine and empty fridge (due to covid).
The location is second to none, the beach just a few seconds away and most local amenities at walking distance. There is parking right outside the hotel however you may find it full during peak hours. We parked a bit further away and then moved it at night when parking had freed up, then left it there the whole next day as we wandered on foot.
Breakfast at the cafeteria is lovely, you get views of the beach and sea - food is varied with hot items, different types of cakes and breads, cereals, fruit, cold cuts, coffee and tea. They also have soy milk upon request.
The rooftop pool is nice with good views too, we hardly used it as we preferred the beach but is nice.
The staff are friendly and we had no problems loading with them in both English and Spanish.

This hotel is situated in the best location possible in Lagos just next to Dona Ana beach and a small walk from the center.
The breakfast has a lot of variety and the view makes it an amazing experience.
The room was simple, clean with a great sea view.
The pool is pretty convenient and again with an amazing view.
Highly recommended to anyone wanting to spend a relaxing time in Lagos.

Horrible customer service. Arrived at 11pm on Friday to be waken up by receptionist at 1am who rang us to complain that we had two bookings instead of one, and we therefore would have to pay extra. Absolutely disgrace - I’ve never seen a hotel wake up their guests to complain about a clear error in their own system! My boyfriend went to use the gym, to be given out for not asking permission to reception. Although this information was never provided to us at check in. We ordered take away from the restaurant, food didn’t look the best & no plastic cutlery available. Instead, they gave us normal cutlery and asked us to return to them. What kind of service is that? Lastly, we were given out by taking extra towels, I never seen a hotel make guests feel so uncomfortable . Not worth the money we paid. Do not go, there are better options!
