Firstly, the location of the Marina Club is great. There is a lovely sandy beach 10 mins walk away that has a few smallish beach cafe/restaurants and board walks for access, which are good. To walk from the hotel to the restaurants on the marina takes a few minutes, and approx 10 mins into Lagos old town. There is a good supermarket 5 mins walk away that has pretty much everything you will need if you are renting an apartment and want to get food for breakfasts and lunches etc.

Regarding the hotel, the pool is nice enough, just not really big enough to service the hotel when it is busy. It is cleaned every morning, but the surrounding area isn’t. Under the sun beds is never swept, so there is always a lot of leaves and debris, and sometimes people’s rubbish, which isn’t great. The sun beds are ok, a little tired and no cushion, so not the most comfortable. Towels have to be obtained from heading down the spa area and signing out however many towels you want and then returning them for fresh ones. Not the most convenient.

The spa costs EUR 10 to use the gym, inside pool, spa area, so we didn’t bother as it is 16 years old and over.

We rented a 2 bedroom superior apartment with pool marina view. It was a very good size, and had most things we would have expected. The decor was modern and simple. Beds were a little hard for my liking, and the overall tiredness of the bathrooms/kitchen were as expected. The shower in the small bathroom leaked every time you used it, so towels had to be placed by the door to catch water. We had a constant battle with ants in the apartment, not only in the kitchen but in the bedroom, lounge, bathroom, wardrobes and even in bed! We were given bug spray, but that didn’t seem to help.

Regarding cleanliness, our room was always tended to late everyday at 4.30, and it was literally a 5 minute job. Poor effort and not up to my standard.

Balcony was great, large area with a table and 4 chairs and two sun loungers, that were much nicer and more comfortable than by the pool. The balcony had 2 plant pots, one empty and one with a half dead small plant. There was a small, very small area to dry swimming stuff.

Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Most of the housekeeping were friendly.

All in all it is a nice hotel, it just needs to improve on housekeeping, tidying up the pool area - paving is uneven and needs fixing, plant area needs maintenance, more sun lingers or add another pool to the property, it has the space.

Slightly shabby area, but comfortable apartment, with great staff. Parking is free in an enclosed outdoor area. Some items in the kitchen were missing and the kitchen needs instructions for the microwave/oven. The ones supplied are for the wrong model needing google search. Cabinets and countertops in the kitchen area were damaged. Furniture in the living room is uncomfortable and is similar to a students' hangout. Location is good, and is close to old town about 10 minutes walk. Unfortunately the outdoor pool area needs some work as the walkways around the pool are very uneven and the landscaping is in need of of many upgrades. The indoor pool is available at an added cost. There is no clothes washing in the unit, and the laundromat is at best adequate. It is a couple of minutes walk from the units and costs 4 euros per load, wash or dry. One dryer was broken, one was not working properly and the 3rd is fine. Some units face inward to the pool area, but ours was facing the main road in the area. A little disappointing overall.

The room that we had was very spacious and very clean, it would have been better with two comfortable chairs to watch tv not plastic ones, but we only stayed two nights so they were not needed. The view was the best that we have ever had overlooking the pool and the marina. The biggest let down was the buffet breakfast at €13 the choice was disgraceful bacon, scrambled eggs chips and mixed vegetables then there was ham and cheese. There was no toaster and the coffee machine very slow. The hot food was also very slow to come out. Avoid the buffet as there are many options on the marina.

We are currently holidaying at the Marina club hotel. The hotel itself is fine, location very helpful to acces the area. The outdoor swimming pool is freezing. If you have children and plan to stay here i would strongly suggest you look for another option. There is only one outdoor swimming pool. The weather is warm and beautiful, but the pool is so bitterly cold. No one in our party can enjoy the pool nor can our child.

So far with the exception of the odd brave adult wishing to have some cold water therapy no one else is swimming freely or going in and out . This is a real shame for young children . Please do not waste your time or money booking this hotel if you have children, if you enjoy swimming or if you have any notions to dip in and out of the pool freely.

I have spoken with the reception staff who are polite and friendly, but they have explained it is what it is. Which of course we understand.Building a heated pool or updating the website to clearly state the pool is freezing is not a job they can undertake. We are spending time calling other hotels in the area to pay to use a guest pass to access a pool that can be enjoyed. So far no luck.

Save your holiday and your money and book something somewhere else. I have travelled extensively all over the world staying in all sorts of hotels. I can assure you this is not the normal.

You will be paying for a facility that you can either not use or you will most likely really not enjoy using.

Dear saff2022, We are sorry you are not enjoying your stay with us, however, we do not feel we’ve failed your expectations in any way. If we advertised a heated outdoor swimming-pool you would be absolutely right to complain but we don’t. We only advertise what we do have. Best regards, Marina Club Lagos Resort

We stayed here for 4 weeks. Eventhough we had a rough few days when we arrived, the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the perfume in the cleaning products which made my wife quite uncomfortable and sick. They adjusted and reacted quickly in modifying the products used to clean the unit. We were also not satisfied with the location of our unit as it only received sun late afternoon (our ivisit was in the winter months) Fernando accepted to review the situation and was able to reassign a unit that met our needs. We had a great stay and really appreciated all of the front line staff. Thank you all! We will see you again.

Just look back through the reviews of the pool temperature and it doesn't matter how often we, the customers, complain that the pool is too cold, the only response from management is "our pool is set to 27 degrees". So??? If the temperature is set to 27 degrees, then 27 degrees is TOO COLD. Otherwise, something is broken and the temperature is NOT 27 degrees. Either way, there is a problem when the pool feels cold. Personally, I have found the temperature variable. Occasionally it is like getting into a warm bath, at other times it is freezing cold and you cannot get in. But we must not worry because the management have personally assured me the pool temperature is always 27 degrees!!! Something is very wrong somewhere but complaining gets us nowhere because the management do not believe anything is wrong with their perfect pool. Wakeup please, listen to the customers, and get this problem fixed.

Dear XXX283, What the management has assured you is that the equipment is set for a minimum of 27º and we measure it every morning. By email we've told you later that the measure of the day you've complained was 29º and the previous day 28,9º. We've also told you that, from that day on, we would measure it twice a day, in the morning and in the afternnon and the temperature registration form would be available at the Spa Reception, which is since that day. A thermometer is also there. Yours Sincerely, Marina Club Lagos Resort

I stayed at this place for 4 days with my husband. I would not consider this a 4 star hotel. They are not clean, my bed sheet was dirty and they did not change it, when I called asking for it to be changed the person who replied told me they cannot change it now as the cleaners were not there and basically I have to sleep on dirty sheets. He said they change the sheets every 3 days, that was ok however when there is a spot on the bed you would expect them to change it, that's the hygienic thing to do. When he told me they can't do anything for me at the time I told him I will write this in my review, only then did he decide to magically get the housekeeping lady to change the covers. The next morning we wake up and ask them to make sure everything is clean, we go back and the pillows covers are dirty. Really the worst customer service and hygiene I've experienced on my trip to Portugal. Also, on our first day there we woke up to no water at the hotel. This was not a pleasant stay and the staff were not friendly to make these issues any better for us. Will definitely not stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone !

While the rooms are comfortable and the reception personnel are nice, the spa, gym and more importantly the indoor pool are paid per person per day. That was a first time in terms of indoor pool in all hotels and aparthotels I’ve been.
A second part of this problem is that doing the reservation on their official website I saw no information on that. Even the receptionist girl had difficulty finding the information on the website saying it was paid. The information is blended in a big text that gives me the idea that is for the client to find out when it gets here.
A third part of my issue with this is that this seems to be a constant issue reported by a lot of clients both on the website and the on hotel physical complaint book so this says to me that is an issue that is basically ignored by the management. I guess the 10€ per day on the pool per person are more valuable than all those complains. I did an early check out just by the policy and how is handled.
Unless there is some satisfactory feedback or compensation I don’t intend to come back.

Just returned form a family holiday and was very surprised at how lovely and clean the hotel was, the staff on reception weren’t exactly rly friendly but maybe that is just them as people. However the barman (think he’s called Ricardo) was lovely and a credit to the hotel, he’s been there for about 15/16 years. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned everyday, you can get free pool towels from gym area, we only found this out through other guests. Sunbeds were fine, however they were notices to say not to reserve & your only allowed to for 20 mins & then staff can remove your towels. Towards the end of the holiday people were reserving but there were plenty. Food around the pool was good value & restaurant next to hotel is 10% off if your a hotel guest. Restaurants outside hotel are 1 minute walk away & town was just over the bridge so about 10 minute walk.

Overall we would return
