Regarding the hotel, the pool is nice enough, just not really big enough to service the hotel when it is busy. It is cleaned every morning, but the surrounding area isn’t. Under the sun beds is never swept, so there is always a lot of leaves and debris, and sometimes people’s rubbish, which isn’t great. The sun beds are ok, a little tired and no cushion, so not the most comfortable. Towels have to be obtained from heading down the spa area and signing out however many towels you want and then returning them for fresh ones. Not the most convenient.
The spa costs EUR 10 to use the gym, inside pool, spa area, so we didn’t bother as it is 16 years old and over.
We rented a 2 bedroom superior apartment with pool marina view. It was a very good size, and had most things we would have expected. The decor was modern and simple. Beds were a little hard for my liking, and the overall tiredness of the bathrooms/kitchen were as expected. The shower in the small bathroom leaked every time you used it, so towels had to be placed by the door to catch water. We had a constant battle with ants in the apartment, not only in the kitchen but in the bedroom, lounge, bathroom, wardrobes and even in bed! We were given bug spray, but that didn’t seem to help.
Regarding cleanliness, our room was always tended to late everyday at 4.30, and it was literally a 5 minute job. Poor effort and not up to my standard.
Balcony was great, large area with a table and 4 chairs and two sun loungers, that were much nicer and more comfortable than by the pool. The balcony had 2 plant pots, one empty and one with a half dead small plant. There was a small, very small area to dry swimming stuff.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Most of the housekeeping were friendly.
All in all it is a nice hotel, it just needs to improve on housekeeping, tidying up the pool area - paving is uneven and needs fixing, plant area needs maintenance, more sun lingers or add another pool to the property, it has the space.
So far with the exception of the odd brave adult wishing to have some cold water therapy no one else is swimming freely or going in and out . This is a real shame for young children . Please do not waste your time or money booking this hotel if you have children, if you enjoy swimming or if you have any notions to dip in and out of the pool freely.
I have spoken with the reception staff who are polite and friendly, but they have explained it is what it is. Which of course we understand.Building a heated pool or updating the website to clearly state the pool is freezing is not a job they can undertake. We are spending time calling other hotels in the area to pay to use a guest pass to access a pool that can be enjoyed. So far no luck.
Save your holiday and your money and book something somewhere else. I have travelled extensively all over the world staying in all sorts of hotels. I can assure you this is not the normal.
You will be paying for a facility that you can either not use or you will most likely really not enjoy using.

"In summer day time temperatures can reach 28°/ 30° C and 18°/ 20° C at night. The number of rainy days is less than one in summer.
During the winter, maximum temperatures range from 13° / 18° C.
The risk of winds over force 8 Beaufort is 1% in the summer and 9% in January, probably the lowest percentages in Europe. "
A second part of this problem is that doing the reservation on their official website I saw no information on that. Even the receptionist girl had difficulty finding the information on the website saying it was paid. The information is blended in a big text that gives me the idea that is for the client to find out when it gets here.
A third part of my issue with this is that this seems to be a constant issue reported by a lot of clients both on the website and the on hotel physical complaint book so this says to me that is an issue that is basically ignored by the management. I guess the 10€ per day on the pool per person are more valuable than all those complains. I did an early check out just by the policy and how is handled.
Unless there is some satisfactory feedback or compensation I don’t intend to come back.
Overall we would return
"There is plenty of parking near the hotel and they offer parking in the garage below the hotel. The train station is a 2 min walk away."Read full review
"In season I imagine higher is better. Keep curtains closed even in winter because of bright sun. Brits gather nightly at bars near marina."Read full review
