My wife and I stayed here in September, during an unexpected heatwave, temps of 35/36/37 on consecutive days. The greeting was poor, there were far too many artefacts laying around the hotel that needed cleaning/dusting. The tv in the room was tiny and very poor signal, tea and coffee facilities in the room were non existent, when asked if we could have tea, we didn’t receive any for the 4 days we were there. Breakfast was a joke! Nobody on hand to serve anything you needed, ie tea!! And the coffee and hot water came in old style milk bottles!!! (That burnt your hands when touched!!) Our room was not cleaned until we mentioned it to the staff on the 3rd morning! For Christ sake, this was a £500 four night stay, so it wasn’t cheap compared to some other hotels in the area. So I would have expected a bit of hospitality, but I’m afraid the family/staff had no idea how to treat their guests. We then stayed at a Dom Pedro hotel in Vilamoura for our last 3 days (which was cheaper) and the welcome and service we received from all the staff was beyond belief!. As we checked out of Val mar villas, the guy on reception (who we had not seen all week) asked if our stay was ok, and to be honest, I had no energy or inclination to explain to him our feelings. We would never recommend nor stay there again.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights and we had a great time. The room was nice and clean, as well as the bathroom. The breakfast was amazing and our favourite place was the garden :) the pool was always clean, there is plenty of space to sunbathe and relax. We will be back next year :)

Very friendly staff, especially the manager Alexander, he was always checking on cleanliness, everyone comfort and very helpful. The resort was near some lovely beaches but a 20 minute walk to town. The rooms, pool and restaurant (breakfast) was great. The decorations eg. Statues, paintings ornaments were beautiful and quite quirky always something different to see. Loved our stay there. As it was adult only it was very peaceful and relaxing, lots of seating round the pool from sun loungers, sofas, bean bags and hammock. The hotel had views from the pool area across the sea.

It was a weird stay. First of all they took half of the money for the reservation one month before our arrival. Ok, understood their policy but the rest of the amount we paid at check-in. This is weird. The room was spacious with view to the ocean and it is 3mins walk to Praia do Mos. The downside is that it was not so clean, the sheets were clean but the nightstands had a layer of dust. Also in each morning they only made the bed and empty the baskets. No vaccuming and being near to the beach we had sand even if we didnt want to. The bathroom is a bit oldfashioned but works fine. When we checked out the lady didn't know what we paid and what we didn't even if she was there to do the checkin and knew we had breakfast included. She is not welcoming or anything. She just.. is. Lagos is fine to explore but for the amount paid it was not what we expected Also, people said that they bring the breakfast in room. No such thing. There is downstairs a room with nice music and nice decorated where you can take it between 8.30 and 10. In the balcony we had right in the middle a pillar which kinda minimized the space.

My partner and I stayed for 7 days at this hotel and we had a lovely time. The room was perfect for 2 people. The bed was almost a king size, we had a lovely balcony with the pool view and air conditioning. The BEST of this hotel is the breakfast buffet and its location. Being an adults only establishment it's very quiet. We were 5min by car from the centre and just 10min walking from the beach. Also, the staff are very nice and friendly, all English speakers. The ONLY CON would be that our bed mattress was hard and it took a couple of days to get used to it. That aside, we had a lovely time and we were very pleased with our stay. P.S.: the pictures attached were taken by the end of our stay.

The location was prefect. Away from the main downtown but only a 4 min drive or 30 min walk. There is an amazing beach 2 mins away as well !! The rooms were spacious with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Very clean and the bathroom was massive. Room had a.c. and a fridge. Breakfast was served in the room at the time we chose and having it on the balcony was just awesome The pool was great and much needed after a bit day out. I would highly recommend this place..i have seen some reviews about the owners but our interactions were nothing but super!

First of the owners and all the staff were very friendly and kind so idk what the previous reviewers deal is. In terms of price and location (20 min walk to centre).. this is the best value. If you plan on spending all day at a hotel maybe this isn't your spot, but as a place to come and go as you beach hop and explore, this is affordable, friendly and clean. Bottle of sparkling wine was complimentary at check in. Toiletries need some work though! Free parking! Intermarche is the best store to go to if you have a car, but there is a grocery/liquor store on the way into town.

My Friend and I recently stayed here and we were so shocked and offended by the greeting we received we hardly couldn't believe it. As there is a late 3pm check in, we went straight to the beach nearby to kill time and cool off from the 40-degree heat. When we checked in at 3 we were told we were not allowed to check in, in our bathers. I was then told that we shouldn't stay here during the day and use the pool as everyone who stays here is much older and they would be offended by us being there. Anytime we asked for advice or help - we were treated with very short answers and were told we already recieved the map from them. We also asked for help with our bags and no one was around to help (at check in time). Also happened again at check out. There is a gym but they don't want you to use it for insurance purposes. If you're 70 + don't want to ever be in your bathers and see the sights if Lisbon then this is the place for you!
